RB Carson Steele, KC (1 Viewer)

Isiah Pacheco was on average the 24th player taken in fantasy drafts just 3-4 weeks ago.

But nobody wants his backup, even though we just saw Jordan Mason produce in lieue of CMC's injury.

"Oh, I don't want Carson Steele. Kansas City doesn't know what they're doing." 😁

It's not like we watch no name Runningbacks become valued fantasy assets before... wait no, that literally happens every season.

That's the entire reason RB don't get paid, because they're replaceable.

Some decent play, I think he did enough to ensure he keeps getting the early down opportunities, and he’s a stout enough blocker to stay on the field. More of a matchup based/flex playin my book, but most encouragingly, the chiefs are still committed to the run, assuaging my fears that the offense would be fundamentally changed with Pacheco out.

Will try to avoid him in my lineups but like him on my bench for the juicy matchups.

Chase Daniel
Rookie Carson Steele misses simple blitz pickup. If Mahomes has .5 more seconds it’s a TD. Pacheco missed in more ways than you think
i wouldn't worry about that one hiccup. chiefs didn't seem to hold it against him as this was in the 1st quarter and steele's work didn't get dialed back rest of game. he did make some nice blocks during the game as well. on this one he didn't see the blitz cause he was on the other side and then proceeded to run a route. if mahomes hit steele there instead of going to the endzone it woulda been a long gain

17 for 72 yds, that's good
Not much in the receiving game
TD dependent to be in your starting line up

Will remain on my bench for now.
Drafted Pacheco as my RB2 so I have options for the moment

It was his 1st game but he doesn't look like much more than a straight ahead between the Tackles type

Davis Mattek
Wait, a fullback leads the NFL in rushing success rate???
You can't stop him you can only hope to contain him.

Several positives. They clearly were trying to get him a rushing TD when they were inside the 5. I think it's obvious the staff and team love him. That matters.
He made several nice blocks in pass protection. He always seems to fall forward and gain yards, and I believed gained several first downs.
Afterwards I watched some interviews and again the team seems very happy with him, I think he's clearly the guy moving forward until Pacheco gets back

8 And I looked, and behold a pale workhorse: and his name that sat on him was Steele, and 1st downs followed with him. And power was given unto him over the fourth part of the defensive line, to run with power, and with hunger, and with strength, and with the beasts of the offensive line.

UDFA who looked good stepping into a starting role. I think being able to be proficient running between the tackles is a massive positive to being an effective NFL RB.

In a standard scoring league I'm in, Steele was RB30 this past week. Assuming Perine maintains a role, Steele feels like a mid/low end RB2, unless TDs follow, Hunt has little impact or you're in an alligator premium league,

I had him on my taxi and Pacheco. I decided to not rush to promote him and now I'm glad I waited. I don't think he's necessarily out of the picture after a single fumble, but probably for a little bit.

Aside from the fumble, Hunt looked good, much better than I expected. He looked faster than I remember. He is the RB to own in KC until (and if) Pacheco comes back.

The Hunt I saw today (i.e. vintage Hunt) is better than Pacheco. Not as fast in a straight line, but better in every other way an Andy Reid RB could be.

That said, one game with fresh legs does not make a season. Dude will have to prove he can do it again and again, and stay healthy doing so.

Bigger issue is the Chiefs passing game. Losing Rice is huge. Unlike Hunt, Kelce and JuJu do not look vintage.
