RB Darrell Henderson, LAR (3 Viewers)

I still don't think he's safe to start.
Maybe. Last time he started when questionable it worked out well. I don’t know what to believe with McVay. Maybe he’s just resting Henderson. I watched every snap of that game & couldn’t tell he got hurt. If he starts, I’m starting him.

Any Hendo owners have a feel for how often this guy plays on a day of limited practice? The smart moves seems to rest him as they shouldn’t need him against the Jags. But we’ll see what happens I guess.

Last time with the rib cartilage injury he was limited all week & listed as questionable.
Then he came out to 14/89 & 5/27

The 4pm start sucks too since they don't have to announce starters until 3pm. All my other guys are 1pm. Might roll Sanders out there over him if it doesn't sound good Sunday morning.

This. I would hope somebody (preferably Shefty) would get some news out there before then.

In the same boat and will likely do the same

That’s not accurate. That was the week 4 game. He was limited early in the week but was a full participant on Friday.

There is a big difference. If he fully practiced today I wouldn’t question starting him on Sunday.
Meh. It’s a difference. I don’t know how big a difference it is.

one thing I read on Monday was that McVay might just opt to rest Henderson in what should easily be a winnable game without him.

less than ideal for FF managers, but if you can get by without him better to have him healthy going  forward.

Come on, if you didn’t think it was a difference you wouldn’t have made a big deal about him being limited and then playing. It is a big difference between playing like normal with the team or just stretching on the side.

I’m not sure what your point here is.

There’s a huge difference between not practicing and practicing.

Historically speaking there’s not a huge difference between a limited practice and a full practice other than confidence level. Typically any practice is an indicator that the player will play.  A full practice would give me more confidence, but a non practice would be a strong indicator that the player is out.

As I said, it was speculated earlier in the week that Henderson may be held out if this game regardless in a winnable game without him to get him ready for the stretch run. The injury was so minor that he played through it on Sunday and didn’t miss a snap.

it was surprising to see his status, because even when the game was seemingly out of reach on the last drive, Henderson was in the backfield, not Sony. I watched it.

So there’s something off about this one from the jump. I concede I have no idea what’s going to happen here, but after being limited a couple of times this year Henderson has played, and played well.

we will collectively find out tomorrow what’s going to happen. Speculation doesn’t really answer any questions.

but we know he practiced on Friday, which is a big upgrade from DNP. Obviously.

i don't trust McVey
This is where I’m at. It could all be head games. It could all be a ploy to get Henderson some rest. It could all be a ploy to keep him out a week. I dunno why McVay would feel the need to play head games with a team as bad as the Jags, but I don’t know why he’d do anything he does.

He only got a Friday lp this week.  Even if he somehow goes he's going to see a reduced workload. Personally, I would be shocked if he was active at this point.  If he had gotten 3 LP's then maybe you make a case he'll be fine for Sunday.

They IRd their 3rd string RB and activated another off the practice squad. Not sure if they'd go into the game with only 2 active RBs.

Adam Schefter

Rams will test running back Darrell Henderson and his thigh before Sunday’s game to see if he can play vs. the Jaguars, but the team is not optimistic about him being able to play, per sources.

Sounding like it's a no go. I'm putting in Sanders.
Imma check before gametime.

Schefter has been hit & miss lately. Not sure where he got this update at 08:00 AM ET for a game that starts at 4:00 PM ET.

Henderson was said to be a GTD yesterday, so this sounds speculative.

If he plays, great. Can't risk the zero though as I have no backups after 1pm.

If Hendo is out, Michel becomes a safe floor guy over the likes of actual RB's like CEH and Robinson, who may cede touches with their own issues

I think you have to proceed at this point like he’s not playing. DNP DNP LP already had him 50/50 at best. Even if the Schefter tweet isn’t a rock solid lock sign that he won’t play it is something. And the other reporter said he didn’t do much at all Friday. Gotta think he’s 75-80% likely to sit out given the stuff mentioned above and that it’s the Jags at home with a huge divisional Monday night game the following week. Logical conclusion is they sit him this week.

But CEH was dealing with the stomach flu, and that is deadly serious.
If he's active I believe you have to play him over a lot of players.  Obviously if you have better options you go with them, but I wouldn't start middling RBs over him and I consider Michel middling.

I didn't even call Michel middling, if you read above.  I called him not an actual RB.

I understand Henderson owners are going to be squeezed today but I also would like to say Sony Michel is a terrible option and has done very little when given an opportunity to handle starting duties or more touches, he doesn't cash in.

I could see Michel getting about 75-80 yds but I think Staff will handle the heavy lifting and the Rams are pissed and they have JAX and they are going to get things right today. Even when it's mop up time I expect a different RB to handle the who cares touches in the 4th Q.

Just because he sucks, it doesn't mean he isn't a great option this week

I think it’s a false narrative that Michel sucks. He’s never going to be confused with the top backs in the league, but if you look at his career stats, they’re not bad.

Rapoport tweet more optimistic than Schefter. At this point I don't think the Rams can take any team for granted. They need to win, and Henderson gives them the best chance to win. If he can play I think he will,  but if the game is well in hand (which is expected) surely Michel will take over. I would prefer to avoid this backfield but I have to play Michel or Henderson. ugh...

Ian Rapoport

@RapSheet

#Rams WR Odell Beckham Jr., slowed this week with a hip injury, is expected to play today and he should be a bigger part of the offense, source said. As for RB Darrell Henderson (thigh), he is hopeful to play today even if he may not have a full workload.

I value Shefty’s sources over Rap’s to a great degree. I don’t think he plays today, or if he does his reps are scaled back and he’s put on ice early as this game should very well be in hand early.

Tentatively planning on rolling out Sony over a hobbled and questionable JRob. Don’t feel great about it but this time of year options are limited.

I agree, but I just don’t see what’s changed between yesterday’s report that he’s a GTD & Schefter’s apparent  “downgrade” at 06:00 AM PT.

I seriously doubt anyone from the Rams is texting him at 06:00 AM PT, and he’s still technically a GTD & hasn’t officially been ruled out. Which is entirely unchanged from yesterday.

It just seems like an empty update with pure speculation based on prior reporting. We already knew he’s on the doubtful side of questionable, so while sure, he might be out, I don’t see that as validation of Schefter’s “reporting”.

It’s a weird update that seems oddly unsourced and speculative.
