RB D'Onta Foreman, CLE (1 Viewer)

I do not have a good feeling about Foreman vs the 9er run D tonight, plus 3RB's in the mix. Most rankings pointing to starting him in the flex but I'm going to hold out and plug in other similar options later this weekend. I do not want that sick feeling with my first player getting 40 yards rushing and 1 catch for 7 yards.

What are Foreman owners doing tonight?
Considering I have to play two RBs and my current other best are Devante Freeman and Mike Davis, I am starting Foreman.

At this point I am also starting guys who I know will actually play and not get put on the Covid list.

3 missing from the OL, somewhat significant timeshare with 2 other RB's, and now both AJB and Julio are active tonight. The pass game should open things up for the RB's but WRs have the potential to steal the show. Tougher choice tonight than I thought.

I'm glad I bailed on Foreman, at least those that started him got that TD so it wasn't a total disaster. Too many times I go with the rankings I respect instead of my own research and thought out gut reaction.

I bailed on him when Justin Jackson became viable.  TD would have been huge, but JJ should have a decent chance to score if Ekeler is out.  If Ekeler plays, I am stuck with Freeman…

Picked him up in Dynasty and can certainly see some value somewhere next year for him. He's proving to be an effective bruiser and has some decent receiving chops. Maybe a 50/50 timesplit next year for him somewhere

Panthers signed RB D'Onta Foreman, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year, $2 million contract.

Foreman's career was derailed by injuries early and often. A torn Achilles tendon cost him the bulk of his first two seasons then a torn bicep sidelined him for all of 2019. The Titans added him the following year but he didn't see much work until 2021. Fully healthy, Foreman capitalized on the loss of Derrick Henry, leading the team in carries after the superstar back went down. He ran for 566 yards on 133 carries and was one of the few bright spots on the offense in their closing stretch of games. Not content with just Chuba Hubbard backing up Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers now have an experienced runner coming off a career year on their depth chart.

So does this mean the Panthers aren’t enamored with Chubba or that CMC is part of a package deal for Watson? 😛

This guy looked great last year and proved you can overcome an achilles injury at this position. I was hoping Atlanta or possibly back to Houston for a little easier path to playing time, but maybe CMC ends up getting moved.

That sounds really low and eminently cuttable, unfortunately. He performed well last year. I'm surprised he went to Charlotte and that the pay is so meager.
Agreed, he looked downright beastly at times last year. Out of all of the free agent RBs I was most interested in where he was going. I thought there was a real chance he would find himself in a situation to make some noise. This is really one of the worst possibilities for him unless I am missing something.

Used to be a saying that 6'0" point guards were a dime a dozen vying for the NBA. Seems to be the same with talented running backs these days. Makes you wonder how teams run out of them, though. Lots of quality guys that never got real shots at it. Duke Johnson was always one of those guys.

Foreman is different, as bostonfred points out. He's about 235, which is a really healthy weight and a big, bruising dude.

The new RB1, or is it Hubbard?I would think Foreman would get goalline if it’s a RBBC.
I would think it starts with Foreman as the lead dog in some form of split duty. 65/35 with Foreman getting any goal line looks if/when they happen.

19/109
22/108
22/132/TD

Those 3 games were last year...just saying

Checks to see if Foreman is a starting option this week. Going against TB #1 run defense, hard pass this week.

3rd string QB behind Mayfield and Darnold. 2nd or 3rd RB now in. Good luck. The box will be stacked so high none will be worth any value IMO.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Cam Akers shipped here. Wouldn’t cost much draft capital or salary wise.

I'd love to see Carolina trade for Kareem Hunt. I think he is a FA next year anyway.
The Panthers are tanking on purpose, they're throwing in the towel on '22, raising the white flag, crying "Uncle!".

Why would they trade for anyone who might help accidentally give them even one more victory this season?

D'Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard are "expected to compete" for the Panthers' starting running back job following the Christian McCaffrey trade.

Hubbard served as the fill-in for the Panthers last season, starting 10 games and amassing 786 scrimmage yards and six total touchdowns. He was horribly inefficient with his work, however, and the Panthers brought in Foreman in March to help shore up their depth. That would seem to give Foreman the edge for the starting job, but the pair has played roughly the same number of snaps this season. Ultimately, this is likely to be a timeshare in one of the worst offenses in the league. Both players are worth adding, but expectations should be low.

Tennessee was a significantly better team than Carolina.
That's very true, was just trying to offer some hope for some folks out there

Well I took a flyer on Foreman. He was available in my league so what the heck. Not starting him this week though. Got Chubb, Stevenson and AJ Dillon in RB/Flex spots so no problem. But bye weeks are coming.

Yea I dropped Kenyan Drake since Foreman is my favorite in the Backfield. Looking at that fantasy playoff schedule against the weaker RB defenses. Even if I don't use him I block someone else. Expectations is low end RB2 thru byes and a RB3 after. Always good to have depth. Maybe he surprises us?

Flyers are all good - but this team is going to be bottom 3 in the league. Average RB on a below average team - if you get 5 start able games out of him by end of year you will be fortunate - and you will likely get them while he is on the bench

Interested in adding this guy for flex depth - would anyone drop Jeff Wilson or Henderson for him?

In another league I would have to drop Damien Harris or Herbert

I am expecting the Panthers to go Hubbard. Foreman is a one year contract and probably not coming back.
I doubt many players are coming back.

2023 brings in a aew GM, a new HC and a whole buncha housecleaning. I think, maybe Brian Burns is safe. Other than that everyone needs to update their CVs.

DJ Moore should proably make sure his Go-Bag is packed too. Just in case.

Wilson owner here. Foreman was available in my league and I still couldn't pull the trigger. That CAR offense is absolutely terrible, Foreman is an average back at best in a timeshare with Chubba AND they play TB this week.

I just decided to hold onto Wilson for now as a backup knowing CMC's injury history the last few years. The only bigger issue I have regarding this situation is that I can still pick up Elijah Mitchel on our waivers but I'm not sure if he slots in behind CMC when he gets back or not.

Also holding onto Wilson hoping that by Sunday we'll have a clearer picture if CMC is actually playing or not. If not, I can use Wilson for one last week.

Hubbard would be someone you might want to bring back. He is only in his 2nd year. 4th round draft pick is pretty high for RB

Sure, maybe. He's cheap for sure in his rookie deal, but draft capital from another regime doesn't mean much at this point.
