it's only a matter of time before he takes over
As much as I don’t love CEH, this only happens with injury.
And they probably still use McKinnon, who’s looked awful as a runner but is better in pass pro.
At the end of the day, Mahomes staying vertical is probably more important to the chiefs than anything either RB brings to the table ability-wise, which is also likely why Jet has been in there on short yardage/goal to go when they’re passing.
But I do agree with others that this early blowout led to all sorts of production for the RBs. Not saying they’ll never have another blowout like this, but their defense isn’t as good as it looked on SNF, and more games should be closer than not.
A take-over seems unlikely. Can’t predict injury, but CEH has missed a lot of time.
one thing that made me more confident in him this week, was that he had several runs early in the game against Tampa. I think he had 8 carries by halftime, and McKinnon barely touched the ball. Pachecho just has that "excitement" to him when he touches the ball, like any run could be a TD. I do think if CEH went down McKinnon would have a decent role, but Pachecho just seems like one of those guys that the more he plays, the better he will get, and the chiefs are going to have a hard time coming up with reasons to not have him on the field after he breaks a couple of long TDs
They were also up 3 scores before halftime, something I believe will be rare with their leaky secondary.
They played a true revenge game here, and absolutely took it to Tampa Bay. Everyone gave 110% for this one, and are unlikely to repeat. Heck, they couldn’t even repeat it for the 2nd half when Brady went ham and passed on them a record 25 or 26 times in a row (costing me a chance at the $50 AWB against my opponent who had Brady

)
I agree his early usage was a sign of a true RBBC. They now trust him more whereas he was a mop up guy earlier in the season.
I also agree that with his explosiveness, he’s highly likely to take one to the house on one of these touches.
As long as both are healthy (along with Jet), this will be a RBBC. As long as CEH can be as efficient with 7-12 touches as he was the first few weeks, he’ll continue to be a solid FF play. But the floor games are coming. Unless Reid has suddenly decided to run 70+% and use CEH as a true workhorse back (lol, and unlikely) then the regression fairies always come home to roost.
And injury is always a possibility, but again, difficult to predict.
