RB Israel Abanikanda, SF (1 Viewer)

Christopher Carter
@CarterCritiques

Made the Breece Hall comparison for Israel Abanikanda in yesterday's analysis on #Pitt's pro day.
Really think he turned himself from a fringe day 2 pick into a solid second round prospect.

Successful pro day could lead to Pitt's largest NFL draft class since 1990

Thanks to @MathBomb for the comparison feature!
If you liked Breece Hall last year... check out Izzy this year! #NFLDraft2023

Dude, are you serious? These are random tweets from randos. They're dumb. At least they're better than the random OL tweets from randos in the dynasty 2023 thread. Jeez.

Keep those comin', big Poppa.

/sarcasm
Is this rock guy someone I should know? Or is this a rando calling out a rando about rando tweets.

This coming from a guy that's been banned from the board over ten times and a guy that "did his own research"

God Bless you two. :lmao:

Mercy on your souls.

So confidently wrong. I love it.

Especially bringing religion into the blind aggression... /chefskiss.

Eminence and vaccine denier are a perfect combination. Enjoy it, fellas.
X

This rock rando seems a little touchy when called out about calling out randos.
This rando is calling you out, rando!

Really just wanted to add another level to the meta-meta-meta-rando-callout situation.

FWIW, Chris Carter is a local Pittsburgh sports writer.

I don't care if he's the Dalai Lama, comparing Hall to Abanikanda is nuts. Hall had a much more distinguished college career against better competition and did it for three or so years.
The comp is nuts, no argument there. Just defending the original poster as this particular quote was from a paid member of the sports media, not just a random Joe.

Fair enough. I got your intent, actually, but the poster posts wild tweets about O-lineman in the 2023 dynasty draft thread. Now, all knowledge is good knowledge, but it's too much at times and loses the thrust of the dynasty discussion we're having.

But I'm not a board cop, so I probably shouldn't do that. Peace.

But Jakey is Eminence come back to life. Book it. He'll go nuts sooner rather than later. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

You are wrong.

But I like the flailing about blindly when called out. Made it a literal laugh out loud.

This is really weird and unnecessary.

I'm not Em. He seems to occupy a lot of space in your head though. Wasn't eminience Blue Onion?

You got called out, deal with it.

Staaaaahp. This is truly stupid. Back to Breece Hall in 2023 form.

Contribute maybe? The rest of us wouldn't mind your rando opinion, if you can manage to give one.

Mine - This guy and Roschon are the RB steals of the draft.

Thank you for saying this instead of  sooner than later. Can't tell you how many times I've heard that from people being paid to write and/or speak.

No sweat and my pleasure. I'd like to think that I can write and speak well, although I am constantly humbled whenever I try to do so.

I have a lot to say to you, Em.

You can easily flip the page and see my initial thoughts about him. But you didn't want to do that. You wanted to get personal without reading the thread, as is your wont. Maybe if you hadn't been kicked out of here ten times for a million good reasons, you'd have read it already. But we know you're not here for that.

I'm not contributing because you asked. When people pull that ****, they're asking you to dance with bullets at their feet.

**** that. It's right on the first page about Fusue's time and all over the 2023 thread.

Here let me search that for you:

"Israel Abanikanda looks like he's shot from a cannon. At 5'11", 215, I'd be stunned if his athleticism didn't move him up draft boards and maybe into a Day Two selection by the time he gets done with the combine. He's currently around forty in a bunch of rookie drafts. I suspect that will change."

So I was ahead of the game. That's from January 19th, noob.

I know your gig, dude. You're reported. This is for any mod that reads this exchange and thinks I'm sidetracking. I know this **** cold. I've been on Abanikanda since Jan. This is Eminence coming after me because he can't stand it.

YMMV, moderator.

By the way, I didn’t start the thread but I think I am the first person to bring him up in the SP. One can check that -- I’m pretty confident I’m the very first to have commented and to have watched him run in a highlight/film form. College junkies aside who had seen him and knew of him, I was the absolute first here to comment. I’m all business in the SP. I don’t troll or mess around or have priors I need to prove. Proof is in the pudding, so to speak. I’m not nearly the best, nor a model to follow, but I work hard at keeping on top of it with the time I have.

I really like Izzy and if he lands in the right offense, he could pop Elijah Mitchell/Tevin Coleman style. He's not Breece Hall though. That's just silly. Breece is one of the 3 best RB prospects of the last 4-5 years.

This seems to be his comp. Put him in a one-cut offense and watch him go!

I like him, too, in case my cut-and-paste was confusing. There was a time he was a third or fourth rounder in rookie drafts. No longer. It all depends on draft capital, but I think he's unlikely to be available in third rounds of rookie drafts.

Could easily be 2nd round if he gets the right spot/capital.

I have enough naysayers in the thread. Don't want to anoint him without any capital yet.

I do it all for my public. Certain guidelines must be adhered to and certain liberties not taken.

/just kidding, by the way

My plan is to take him at 2.10 or 3.03. Depends on how my draft goes.

Really doubt he gets there, even in IDP dynasty. I think people are going to figure out that the receivers in the draft are sketchy as all get-out, aren't going to want to take the plethora of tight ends too early when it's a dart throw, and will want RBs instead, even those without high draft capital.

That's how I see it working out, anyway.

My draft starts the Monday after the draft, so for now it's possible.

Absolutely. And mine starts the Wednesday or so after, but I still think he goes before 2.10 unless we sort of see a surprise and he gets Day Three capital.

But that's just me. He might never ascend to the heights I think he will in drafts.

Yeah, I may be exaggerating myself. But our first round is going to be 9 RBs absolute minimum, probably 10 or 11, so I'm pretty sure I'd be pleased with him at #8 or #9. Maybe not "thrilled".

Yeah, my league is ULTRA RB heavy. I have interest in this guy, but would need to take him at 1.9 if I want him, as I am certain he does not last until my late 2nd pick since my draft is in August.

@Winning IS Everything Depending on where he's drafted (NFL), I can see his ADP getting steamed way up given the lack of sure-fire WRs in this year's class. However his current ADP in rookie drafts is 23- this is assumed basically a superflex format but only Hooker and maybe Levis would flip past that tier of RB. I think NFL draft capital is going to cause Achane to fall a bit as well as one or two of the bigger backs rising. If Abanikanda lands in Cincinatti, look out lol.
1.01 Bijan
1.05 Gibbs
1.09 Charbonnet
2.04 Achane
2.07 Bigsby
2.08 Spears
2.09 Evans
2.11 Abanikanda
2.12 Miller
3.02 Tucker
3.03 Johnson
3.09 McBride
3.10 Brown
4.01 Gray
4.03 McIntosh
4.08 Vaughn

I predict Achane to have good draft capital. The NFL loves those gadget guys. I’m not fooled however.

Watching side by side highlight reels of Bijan and Izzy right now. Abanikanda's breakaway ability is straight up beast even compared to the very best of this class. Izzy's burst and long speed are a different breed. I comp'd him to Kamara earlier in this thread. If he's anything like Kamara in terms of becoming a dual threat passing game option, this dude is gonna score a ton of long TDs in the league. This long legged/armed freak of nature has another gear over even AK41, IMHO. Bijan deserves his hype, but so too does Izzy. I am 100% sure Shanahan is drooling over this dude.

I like this kid. I could see him as a nice Day 2 pick, but early Day 3 more likely

Assumption 12 Team 1 QB PPR
I have seen him climb the boards recently, but he was early 3rd round (FBG still has him 3.03) a few weeks ago.
With the recent glowing reports, I see him ranging all over the place, but I might have to spend a mid/early 2nd ... 2.05-2.07 range
If his Draft Capital is strong, he could climb to late 1st, some benchmarks - KTC 2.12 / CBS 2.06 / Baller 2.09 / Pros 2.12

He looks like Latavius Murray to me
