RB James Cook, BUF (3 Viewers)

James Cook saw 100% of Buffalo's running back rushes against the Rams. He ran the ball six times.

:loco:

/\RB rushes/\ being the key here. Josh Allen had a very LaDainian Tomlinson-like day on top of having a monster QB game.

With the Buffalo Tush Push as the new standard, you are F"D if relying on Cook as a primary RB in the playoffs (or already F'D if you needed him yesterday).

The issue though is snap count - seeing Davis and even Ty Johnson on the field a lot and I don’t think it’s just for blocking purposes.
It's so weird because Cook is good in space and is arguably better as a third down/passing option back than Johnson. I think defenses also key in on the run when they see Cook in there. From a playcalling perspective it's pretty braindead IMO.

I might be starting Rico over him going forward...

To follow up, Cook had a 45% snap count last night. Not sure of the rationale but that’s a big concern as one’s RB1 or RB2.

Agree, mind numbingly stupid. I am also starting Rico over Cook starting next week in playoffs.

Plus, not getting the goal line carries like he was early in the season. Josh taking them himself now. Big problem for Cook owners.

As mentioned upthread, I don’t think they ever envisioned him to be a big workhorse. He averaged around 14 carries and fewer than 3 receptions a game last year. This year, it’s been a bit less at around 13 and 2. The difference is that he’s scored 12 TDs so far this year versus 6 all of last. So he’s become largely dependent on TDs and big plays.

Cook's been my rock steady RB2 all season long. If I advance in my playoff wildcard today, it'll be largely because of him. Stud.
The bad news about next week is that he seems to pop off every other week.

He’s RB13 after today in my half point PPR league. Lots of complainers about him on the weeks he doesn’t blow up.

Most rushing TDs in Bills history, even with his QB stealing a lot of them. Great season from Cook. Hoping they are smart and ride him in the playoffs.

4th round pick most redraft folks took as an RB2

far exceeded his draft capital

9th in PPG, 9th in Consistency

17 TD season

FFers bitched about him every other week
He overperformed every other week.

So everyone bitching probaly started him the wrong weeks.

He had a nice run for the playoffs last 3 weeks that looks to be winning me a championship. And for that… I thank him.

I hold him in a dynasty league and admittedly never feel confident starting him, but he has had a great year. He will never be a high-touch guy and is a little big play/TD dependent. I thought he would be more of a receiving back but that has never really taken off.

I struck out looking on this guy. I was probably his biggest hater.

I thought Allen would take too much goal line work. I thought Ray Davis would be a big thorn in his side. I really though you'd look up today and see Najee Harris numbers.

Woof. Dude was an absolute stud. I had almost no shares. Gotta eat some crow on this one. Back to the drawing board.

I don’t think anyone thought he would cross the stripe the way he did. I hold him in dynasty and thankfully nobody wanted him prior to the season when I was looking to trade him.

So bizarre how last year they thought he wasnt worthy of goalline carries and preferred to give them an ancient Latavius Murray and this year he led the league in rushing TDs.
