For the life of me I don't understand why a team so short on receiving options does not design more passes to him. I'm not talking about his number of receptions, those are mainly last resort dump off's where he gets the ball standing still with little to no room, it's very rare that something is actually schemed for him.

It’s not like Najee can’t catch the ball either. They just don’t do it. Makes no sense.

Night and day to me. Najee can catch, very well, but he's not dangerous in space like Warren.

I believe the bolded is likely the key but I think there are things they could do to design some stuff, but both of the QB's have a major problem with sacks.

One of the big problems from last night's game was that Najee was having an off day. The Steeler's didn't need to keep giving him carries.

I’m in a dynasty league where the Harris owner wants Warren as the “handcuff”. But if Harris doesn’t resign then Warren’s value obviously skyrockets. I figured with it being a dynasty league I can hold him until next season and worst case his value stays the same as a high end handcuff.

I think Warren is a good hold vs what you can get, but worst case is a better and younger RB than Najee joining the backfield.

Who says Warren will resign in Pittsburgh?

I see no way, whether Najee leaves or not, or Warren signs elsewhere, that he’ll will be given a lead role.

For me, I’d sell for just about anything.

He's a good player, was hurt earlier in the year, think his role will continue to grow a bit. Will he get a lead role? Maybe not, but selling for "anything" is non-sensical.

I’d take a couple of 3’s for sure. What would you sell for? There’s lots of “good” RBs and a bunch more coming next season.

I don’t think he’ll ever be a consistent difference maker and is a bit of a roster clogger.

I am not sure I would interpret Tomlin acknowledging that Warren is capable of more carries to mean the Steelers intend to give a big workload to Warren. Najee is gone, but Kaleb Johnson is in the mix now.

I dealt him before the NFL draft with the assumption that they’d draft a Najee replacement. It’s been kinda nagging at me ever since, but I don’t really expect much beyond what he did last year FF-wise.

The thing about Warren that can, and has, upended more usage: ball security.

He has more juice than given credit for (certainly more than Naj ever had), is a pretty good pass blocker, and has turned himself into a better than advertised receiver, BUT...he puts it on the ground at times (more career Fumbles than TDs). Tomlin HATES that, possibly more than any current HC (and ALL coaches hate it). Conversely, Kaleb Johnson has had, like, 3 fumbles in his life. That probably gives Mikey T "pants feelings."

I like Warren. Health permitting, he is almost assuredly going to get more run(at least early), has good pop on his first step, and he is the guy most likely to get the garbage time catches/etc in that backfield. My guess is he'll cede nearly all SY/GL work, and potenrially a lot of "high pressure" carries, due to the security issues tho.

I beg to differ. He had 7 fumbles in his first 3 seasons, in only 620 touches. That's a fumble every 89 touches. Let's compare that to the top 10 fantasy RB's last year, for their entire career:

Brown - 114
Cook - 105
Williams - 82

Jeanty had 10 fumbles in 830 college touches = 1 fumble every 83 touches
Rhamondre had 14 fumbles in 860 NFL touches = 1 fumble every 61 touches

And trust me, I just saw Rhamondre's college fumbles. Don't make me say them.

I was being nice to RS and separating his first 3 NFL years from 2024. Altogether in the NFL, he has 14 fumbles in 860 touches = 1 every 61
I previously said he had 7 fumbles in his first 3 years in 620 touches = 1 every 89
But if you only count his most recent year of 7 fumbles in 240 touches = 1 every 34

You don't find it the least bit coincidental NE drafted a guy who never lost a college fumble the year after their star RB fumbled more than any other RB in the league?
And FTR, Stevenson and Gibson have the same amount of fumbles, but Gibson has 97 more touches.

This guy is a hold your nose and hold. There's nobody who will give you his upside (lead rb in a run heavy offense) and his downside (Johnson runs away with the job) makes every offer for him lower than what he will probably do (flex rb/bye week).

Fun fact - from 2003 thru 2005, RB Marcel Shipp had 385 carries and 65 receptions (450 touches total) without a single TD. And I betcha not once did he take a knee at the 1.
