RB Jaylen Wright, MIA (6 Viewers)

I see a whole lot more Jerius Norwood in him than I do Raheem Mostert. Athletic freak, but I just don't see it as a productive high volume NFL RB.
I don’t think many people really see Mostert as a productive high volume NFL RB either.
I agree with that, but I would also say Mostert is an anomaly, not the norm. His running style is similar to Wright's, at least in his early days but Mostert has evolved, and it's very rare for an upright runner like Mostert or Wright to be high volume productive runners in the NFL. He might be great for the team, not so much for fantasy.

RB - Raheem Mostert, De'Von Achane, Jeff Wilson Jr, Jaylen Wright
He's running in 4th place at the moment
Yeah, but he’s at least #2 in dynasty value. That’s all that’s important to me. I’m more interested in 2025, with 2024 upside.
I think Wright is a fantastic pick in Dynasty and may even return value this year if there is an injury that allows him to step in.

McDaniel wanted to draft him in round 3 and then they eventually gave up a future 3rd to get this 4th round pick. He's looked good in preseason and goes to a team where he is a perfect fit in this offense. Not many better scenarios for this guy as Mostert and Wilson are old and can't hold on forever. Wright could easily slide into Mostert's role and Miami wouldn't miss a beat.
I heard in on a podcast today (I think it was Kluges) and pointed out that it was a handcuff for 2 players. Hadn’t thought of it like that but this offense supports two top 10 RBs and both the starters have struggled with injuries. It’s not hard to conceive of a situation where he can win your league for what a 12th round pick?
I got Wright in the 11th round. I think my league winning bargain came in the 14th. Khalil Shakir. Buffalo's top receiver is a WR1 in fantasy. That could be Shakir. Their #2 receiver is usually a solid WR3/4. I'll take either outcome from the 14th round.
Kincaid is WR1 in Buffalo

You’re probably not wrong, but over the past two seasons combined, in standard scoring, Mostert ranks 8th in total fantasy points scored. What’s interesting is several of the guys above him are now on different teams (Henry, Jacobs, Barkley, Mixon . . . with Pollard next after Raheem and he moved on too).

Shakir, IMO... But enough targets to go around for both to feast.

Maybe. But if you look back at most of the great seasons by a tight end, there was still a WR outscoring him in fantasy.

FWIW - Wright went 10.11 last night in a draft (12-team full PPR). I wanted wright but Corum was still there at 10.04 so went that route. I thought maybe Wright would last until the 11th but nope.

I'm not as gaga over Kyren Williams so I think you did just fine for a RB at the end of your bench that you are betting on surprising some folks
I liked many of the late RBs across several teams.

Was able to get Wright in a few 10-team leagues in about Rd 12-14 depending on the format.
I turn into a homer sometimes

Well if it's a healthy scratch then fine, Wilson does play ST and while Mostert/Achane are both healthy they will be using them, if injury in game then Wilson isn't the worst emergency option I guess

A healthy scratch.

Jeff Wilson acting as RB3.

Don't love this at all.
He would need 2 injuries to play in the game. Wilson is trusted by the coaches. This possibility was mentioned up thread.
And, he's a rookie, and it's week 1, and he's been RB4 since he was drafted.

This is a long play, and day traders shouldn't be drafting rookies

Dropped him for Dobbins in a redraft. Nobody had Wright on their radar anyway. I'll just pick him back up.

Team Achane told y’all but you didn’t listen.:pickle:
Achane was a near healthy scratch game 1 last year. Then got only a couple of carries game 2. Wilson has ST experience. I thought Wright could be part of the KO return team, I guess not.

Nothing too surprising. Guessing he won't be a scratch if/when Achane and/or Mostert get dinged up, and that's when it matters.

I like Wright as a prospect, and thought he was a steal in round 4, but he was NEVER the prospect Achane was. Achane was in the 1st round conversation until Texas A&M fell apart his last year.

I think Wright will make a fantastic #2 for Miami, possibly as soon as next season (or the next injury) but people I think looked at the measurables, and the college production (in a very non-NFL offense) and let their imaginations get ahead of things.

I do absolutely think Wright moves ahead of Wilson in the very near future, but he was never a threat to Achane/Mostert. His being inactive is a mild surprise (as I would have guessed he'd have a ST role) but not out of nowhere.

Its not about that. I'm on Achane but I also like Wright. What I have been saying is the veterans are going to play ahead of Wright as they have proven they can play in the NFL. Miami wants to win games and they will go with the vets they can trust. Not that they can't trust Wright it just isn't him time yet.

Also, don't "Wright" him off yet because you may miss out on an opportunity later.

No need for victory laps because Wright still may be needed later this season but this is going as expected until Wright gets up to speed with the NFL.

I had to grab a Kicker and had the opportunity to drop Justin Fields or Wright before yesterdays game and already knew Wright was a healthy scratch(of course I second guessed a bunch, but despite talking heads saying Fields is top ten fantasy QB I held onto the "Out" Wright. I am convince Wright matters way more this year in the long run. HODL/Diamond Hands for Wright. He is the surest lotto ticket player ever in recent memory.

Dolphins rookie RB Jaylen Wright told me, on De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert: “They may be a little banged up, but I still expect them to play... My main thing is, I just got to be ready for that time. Whenever that time is to come, it’s my opportunity.”

He also understood being inactive Sunday and took it very professionally as a rookie in his first NFL game. He noted how Achane was a healthy inactive in last season's opener before breaking through. Wright will approach every week as if he will be counted on to play.

Didn’t feel that way until Monday at 6 PM EST lol. Just a high-end cuff until then.

The Dolphins have such a valuable offense that Wright should continue to be held. The backfield can do 2-3 TD’s any given week, along with 30-50-70 receiving yards. McDaniels knows where to place Wright to succeed. It suck’s this week as it’s TNF so it could burn your roster spot for a long long time.

With Achane playing does this affect if you hold him or churn?
Is the question whether to hold or cut Wright? If you drafted Wright why would you drop him now. He was always the long play in case of injury. He was never going to start the season.

Mostert, Achane and Wilson are ahead of Wright. But long term as Wright gets up to speed with the NFL he might get more burn - especially if injuries continue ahead of him.

Agreed! Short benches in 12 teamer make it tough but do think he has highest upside on any potential waiver this week long term

Short benches make it very tough. My one league with very short benches I had to cut Corum to pick up Wilson as my opponent this week has Achane. I didn't want to give him an easy out but hopefully get Corum back later. I need more bench spots - it is killing me.

I'm definitely in a pickle have to start either Wright, Dowdle, Benson, or Bigsby as my RB2 18 team 1ppr league with deepish bench. Leaning towards Wright or Bigsby and pray they break a long run / score a td. Ugh.

Drinking a shot of hopium for Wright to succeed tonight.

Considered him a bigger version of Mostert while drafting over the summer. I completely forgot about Wilson in the mix. Big miss on my part but hoping Wright gets a test drive tonight with at least 10 touches.

I love Wright and drafted him everywhere I could, but I would be surprised if he's fantasy relevant tonight. I hope he surprises me however.
