RB Jaylen Wright, MIA (5 Viewers)

Wouldn't it be funny if Wright has a big game, whether Achane plays or not? Talk about throwing a wrench in the Wilson hype. I'm not saying that will happen, but I thought it would be a hoot if it did.

I'm holding both Wright and Wilson.

Probably starting neither, but will be watching intently tonight.

I'll tell you something. My RBs are so bad in my 14 team league (Javante Williams, Jaylen Warren, Jaylen Wright and Chase Brown), that I'm going to have some fun this week and start Chase Brown and Jaylen Wright. The hell with Javante Williams right now and the Steelers are in love with Harris and Warren probably isn't 100%. So if there ever was a week for me to do something like this, now is the time.

I don't need to roll the dice.

To be honest, I hope Achane is active. I don't want to be tempted to start either. If I have a couple beers, I could say screw it.

I'd rather sit back and watch tonight with two low cost, potentially high ceiling assets.

sort of jealous of your RB crew in my 18 team league I start Gibbs but the other spot is between Dowdle, Benson, Bigsby, and Wright.

It's a sad state of affairs when anyone would be jealous of the RBs I listed.

I'm definitely in a pickle have to start either Wright, Dowdle, Benson, or Bigsby as my RB2 18 team 1ppr league with deepish bench. Leaning towards Wright or Bigsby and pray they break a long run / score a td. Ugh.
I'd go Bigsby over those guys. Wright is very likely the #3 guy tonight.

Are they really going to throw a rookie in there on a short week in a big division game? I highly doubt it. I think that Wilson is going to split the work with Achane (if he goes) with big upside for workhorse volume if Achane pulls a Tee Higgins on us.

Got to be honest, hard for me to totally ingore some of the parallels to how Achane and Wrights career's have started and how Achane was on a lot of benches when he threw down the 50 point game in week 3.

I am also holding both, and will start neither. But I do need to drop one before kickoff to pick up a kicker.

Since I am more concerned with long term upside than short term gain, I think I'll probably hold Wright and drop Wilson, but we'll see when the time comes.

Source: #Dolphins rookie RB Jaylen Wright is expected to be active tonight vs the #Bills and make his NFL debut. The 4th-round pick out of Tennessee was inactive for Week 1, but with Raheem Mostert out and De'Von Achane officially questionable, Wright is set to step in.

I'm only doing this in one league. I'm not stupid.

Me either. I don't expect much work, they have two backs they trust. Unless they blow BUF out.

I mean...I don't think I hesitate to keep Wright.

I think Wilson plays special teams and Wright doesn't. Can anyone verify that?

Wilson plays special teams and also I would imagine is slightly more advanced in pass protection which could be a major factor tonight
Miami must leave tonight with Tua intact, he's essential for them to have any chance this year

They must leave every game with Tua intact. Frankly so does every team as it relates to their starting QBs... except the Raiders they could probably replace either guy with any street free agent and have it be a lateral move at worst. Even Nathan Peterman.

Okay, maybe not Nathan Peterman.

Wright is Active tonight from what I'm hearing
Doesn't mean he's gonna be involved but...

Might not be the best source
Only if one of Achane or Wilson get hurt.

It’s pass protection that has him down the depth chart right now.

But I love his future here. He has a high ceiling.

He's a very strong source, does not make stuff up.

He's also the son of the Starbucks founder.

Anyway I'm tempted to start Wright but am holding off and settling for I'll be happy if he plays well enough to force their hand to give him a role going forward.

@Chaka
We even talked about this, had nothing to do with Wright but...Miami offense isn't worth a nickel now
And folks were tearing each other apart over 4 different RBs, doubt any of them after Achane has any value

It was all a moot point. He showed some flashes, and might still have some value in dynasty. However, now Miami lacks any kind of upside other than achane.

Is anyone holding?

This offense just aint gonna be the same. Achane getting all the touches last week, Mostert could be back. Not sure the upside is there now without Tua.

Obviously he's a hold in dynasty, but in redraft it is tougher depending on the number of teams in the league in combination with roster size. I would certainly do everything I could to hold him, but in shallow leagues I can see where it might not be feasible.

Wilson and Moster are out still, have to hold at least through that, I've got to see a game of Skylar ball before dropping, McDaniel is the reason to hold IMO

I have both Wright and Mostert in a short bench league and will need to drop one. In addition to Tua out minimum 4 weeks, the O line is not healthy. Might even drop both for the right opportunity

If you have deeper benches and can hold I would. Coaches might look back on this game and say we need to work in Wright a bit more. Wright just may not have been in the plans vs BUF. But now with things looking shaky maybe they split the work a bit more.

You held this long and both Wilson and Mostert are hurt. I say keep holding if you can. Achane is still the lead but there could be work for Wright too.

Another week or 2 we get into the part of the season where if you need to make desperate moves to get some wins you might have to cut if he's not getting burn (redraft).

As an Achane owner, I traded my last bench WR, Demarcus Robinson away for Wright today. The price for my (maybe?) handcuff is the lowest it's been in redraft to date.

Now I just need to get Allgeier and my two stud RBs will have a full insurance policy.

On redraft leagues, I am keeping him on waivers. RB 3/RB 4 in an unpredictable offense is a big gamble for those with shallow benches.

I believe Mostert was practicing today in some capacity
With it being a chest injury it is a tricky one. His legs are fine so he can run around but can he take a hit? When they say chest is it bruised? Broken rib? He was ruled out pretty quickly last week which leans me towards the cracked rib type injury which is usually a few week thing, especially with him being an RB who gets hit a lot.

The situation is worth monitoring to get an idea of his chance to play this week. Either way I'm still holding Wright.

Early on it just seemed like the hype came later than what would've otherwise been expected. Given the Tua news, where's the urgency to get this dynamic player into their rotation? Oh, it's a seniority thing... A seniority thing(?), I'm a senior, fuq' seniors, except me of course... ma, whad I say wrong now huh? Of course I went to church this morning.... where do you think I learned all this fuq'n words?

Where am I?

Same. Plus not having any good options on the wire.
I like this, it speaks to those of us who are in competitive leagues. But it seems that Miami views this player like he's a guy in a line. Gibbs in Detroit, Cook in Buffalo, players that were brought along in their 1st year. But with Wright it appears to be a next man up type scenario.

Dropped him for B. Allen.

Mostert practicing so it's back to the Mostert/Achane show. And in the meantime, Wilson gets healthy.

Too many guys to leapfrog in the short term plus with Tua out the entire offense takes a hit.

Could see him hanging in waivers still in a couple weeks after facing @SEA, TN, @NE, and then the bye week.

9 carries last night. Was it just garbage time carries? I am wondering if he is worth a roster spot in redraft or not. With Mostert getting better it doesn't feel like it.

No, most were to give Achane a breather throughout the game.

Probably not worth it in redraft unless you have deep benches to stash guys

I'm not saying to drop but when you drafted him it was a long term play - week 5 is not long term.
It was a play based on an offense that was going to score tons of points. The whole team is pretty worthless w out Tua. I'd easily drop him for a Wicks-type in redraft.

He'll likely be there to grab just before week 8 when Tua returns.

Yeah, agreed. It very much depends on league size. In my 10 team SF he is comfortably on the wire and not likely on anyone's radar. In that format you can still nab guys like Shakir & Justice Hill.

In my much more competitive SP 12 team, one QB league I am very hesitant to drop him because the wire is barren and, as the guy who drafted Mason I am acutely aware there is a reasonable path to semi-meaningful touches in the event of an injury to Achane. But, it is does seem increasingly likely this is a redshirt year for Wright. I was two years early on Mason too, but I kept targeting him because I thought there was something there. I feel the same about Wright.

there is absolutely something there and i still think he could be a big contributor at the end of this year, especially given Mostert/Achane’s proclivity to get banged up
