RB Jordan Mason, MIN (3 Viewers)

CMAC broke the injury seal before even playing the first snap and is almost guaranteed to miss time this year. I like Shakir’s upside, but Mason has league winning potential in that dynamic O
I’ve stopped believing any injury reports before game 1.

Mixon reportedly had a quad injury all camp & preseason which ended up being “wrap him in bubble wrap so we can win the AFC South”
tried to warn people…Mason is a league winner
No one likes “I told ya so” guy. Cmon

Yeah, we told you so that nobody likes I told ya so guy

I like to see him in on a 3rd and 8 obvious passing situation. They seem to have complete faith in him.

I don't quite know how to process this...

Assuming you're RB needy--like almost everyone--do you hang onto Mason or do you shop him to the McCaffrey owner for perhaps a less volatile player?

Was wondering the same thing. Have Mason in all 3 of my leagues and have no CMC shares. No idea where to value him.

If you think when mccaffrey comes back it will be a larger timeshare, it may be a good time to trade him away.

He’s definitely earned the touches.

And Mason and CMC might not hold as much value if they are sharing time.

I’m not saying this is what IS going to happen, but could be worth getting something nice for him if you don’t need to start him next week.

Struggling with this decision. Realistically I want too much and he'll offer too little so it won't be a problem.

My strategy is to keep Mason and offer a Javonte/Singletary level back to shore up his RB corps and hopefully extract a minor bump in value relative to the offer.

I find big asks in trades seldom yield any positive results and generally put the asker on permanent ignore for trades.

It's likely just a window.

But time is undefeated.

Especially for running backs.

Usually you can't pinpoint the cliff.

Usually.

just said in the postgame interview he found out he’d be starting on Friday. Wonder if that brings the team any injury report heat/lands him in the doghouse for running his mouth lmao

Other than that, couldn’t have gone better for him. Other than deebo vulturing what should have been his other TD

Genuine question: for what? What’s his value at this point?

I would sell him for any starter caliber player. I saw an Evan Engram offer for him in one of my leagues.
Why would you sell him for just anyone unless you’re absolutely stacked at RB. Probably the best RB handcuff out there by a fair amount and CMC isn’t 100%.
We see guys like this win leagues every year. Remember James Conner?

Mason said he found out Friday he would start. I would argue in selling him to the cmc owner in the event cmc does come back 100%. Shanny clearly doesn’t trust him completely seeing how Deebo was stealing a lot of work early

I think that trust may have grown over the course of the game. If he didn’t lose it in the interview anyway.

Seeing him treated as a bellcow with mccaffrey out is encouraging. I was expecting sprinklings of guerendo

Feels like a “buy for a 2nd, sell for a 1st” type of guy to me.

Mccaffrey owner doesn’t have a 1st (sold it to get mccaffrey…oof) so I’m likely holding and wrestling with which of my starters to bench for him as long as CMC remains sidelined

If he found out Friday, I would assume the cmc injury is substantial. What that means I don’t know yet, but I do know that Sherman was talking about his Achilles tear and how it started out as calf soreness.

True. Just frustrating seeing him lose out on an entire series early on. Deebo vultured his td and he got one called back on the same drive. Add the 20 plus yarder that was called back before he really got going

Guys, it's CMC lol. He is not being replaced by Jordan Mason.
agreed. if CMC is healthy he will play all the reps hes capable of.

but if they decide to ease him back into action I could see a time share for his first game back.

the key takeaway is this is a short term situation. not permanent. so dont go blowing all your faab money on the guy.

It’s short-term until it’s not. I doubt he’s on many competitive leagues waiver wires anyway, but if he was I’d unload a fair amount.
