There was a thought he'd rotate a bit with Zavier Scott/Akers, but there was no real rotation. Mason played 36/60 snaps while Scott had 17 and Akers 7.Jordan Mason rushed 16 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the Vikings’ Week 3 win over the Bengals.
Mason wasn’t targeted in the passing game as Carson Wentz attempted just 20 passes. The plan came together, as Mason posted the biggest box score as the Vikings adjusted to life without both J.J. McCarthy and Aaron Jones. Fantasy managers might be surprised he carried the ball “only” 16 times in a game the Vikes won 48-10, but constant Bengals miscues kept setting the Vikes up with elite field position. Either way, his five- and four-yard scores — which both came with the Vikings already in blowout mode — got the job done on the digital gridiron. Guaranteed to remain a point of emphasis for Minnesota’s Week 4 Irish road trip to face the Steelers in Dublin, Mason will find himself on the RB1/2 borderline.

"After two weeks of splitting gap scheme and zone runs, they leaned heavily on the outside zone game...During his runs, Mason appeared very comfortable with making decisions about when to cut up field and when to keep pushing to the edge."
@matthewcoller on Jordan Mason's usage
I wouldn’t move any of my shares of Mason for Sutton…If you were going to Sell high, who/what would you target?
Someone sent me an offer of Sutton for Mason. I'm dealing with the Lamb injury, so I wouldn't hate getting a WR. But I feel like Mason is going to be so good the rest of the way. Flipside, I don't think I'll get like a WR1 out of him.

He still has a limitation because of his lack of receiving and that will be amplified when Jones comes back. Also, KOC is a notorious pass around the goal line play caller. With that said, expect him to have a huge rushing projection the next few weeks due to volume and being on a good team. He may even hold that part of it when Jones returns. What are we thinking about Mason ROS gang? Dude went off last weekend and looks to be an RB1, however Aaron Jones is set to come back in a number of weeks.
Is this a guy you would consider buying still?
I think hes a great sell high if you can get RB1 value for him even though it may make you look stupid for a few weeks. What are we thinking about Mason ROS gang? Dude went off last weekend and looks to be an RB1, however Aaron Jones is set to come back in a number of weeks.

I think he's a good floor guy, but don't see much ceiling with him. Seems like he thrived in the Niners system, but now struggling with a more decimated offensive line.I'm trying to buy. Need a good #2 or #3 RB for my squad
Seems like Mason's been a little forgotten about in recent weeks due to some tough matchups and a bye. I think hes a great buy but will temper expectations when Jones comes back this will be a clear RBBC.I'm trying to buy. Need a good #2 or #3 RB for my squad
He had a monster game vs cincy, then two decent but not special games vs cincy and pitt with most of their offensive line out, then a bye.He has been very average while Aaron Jones has been out. Not that I expected Rico type of an output, but it’s been very mediocre. He absolutely did not separate himself from AJ.

Their oline should be getting healthier as well, Mason is playing just fine and should improve when blocking becomes more competent.Yeah I feel like Mason is getting a bit of a bad rap here. At 4.7 ypc, he's got a fine average, it took a little for Wentz to settle in, Addison was also a new adjustment. I would like to see 4-5 catches instead of 2-3. Duh.
When JJ and Aaron are healthy, I will worry but until then, I'm on the optimistic side. Philly run de ain't all that.
Been trying to trade him in package deals for buy lows on the likes of D. Henry and S. Barkley and you'd think Mason is a total bum.Their oline should be getting healthier as well, Mason is playing just fine and should improve when blocking becomes more competent.Yeah I feel like Mason is getting a bit of a bad rap here. Will be interesting to see how they integrate A. Jones. Gotta think Mason remains the 1A here and gets his touches.
On the verge of offering Hampton to the Vidal owner for Mason.
Would ye? 14 teamer where help is hard to come by.
Redraft. And not to derail the thread, what is Mason's ROS outlook the way we're seeing it?On the verge of offering Hampton to the Vidal owner for Mason.

Depends on the league. Dynasty never, redraft it is close.
AJones has a chance to return. I didn’t think he looked great prior to the injury, but that’s just like my opinion maaaaan. Is Aaron Jones just a ghost? Or is this current usage going to destabilize for Mason?
Why do you think Jones would be a ghost? Nothing has shown me he isnt a valuable player for thr Vikings. This will be a 50/50 split with Jones getting the catches and Mason getting goal line IMO. Gonna be very frustrating for fantasy as both guys will be flexes. Not much different than KW3/Charbs.Redraft. Any time you can trade an injury replacement player for a starter - do it.Been trying to trade him in package deals for buy lows on the likes of D. Henry and S. Barkley and you'd think Mason is a total bum.
Simply the possibility that either his injury lingers too much for him to get back to form this season, or they like Mason enough for it become 70/30 or the like in his favor regardless. Why do you think Jones would be a ghost? I hear what you are saying and that is in fact exactly what they did, but I guess I question if giving up on a run game that early is really ever the best plan. They basically had to abandon the run in the 2nd quarter last night due to the score. Hard to make long term judgements based on that game.
I’d suggest 3/4s given the OL and defensive woes. This is a team that’s constantly pressured (67%!), can’t sustain drives, and falls behind on the scoreboard early. Both low end RB2/3s with an occasional spike week.
Interestingly AJones was in on the 1st series for 1st & 2nd downs and Mason came in on 3rd to pass protect.
Throughout the game, Jones saw runs up the gut. It was Mason in on the goal to go, but it was a PA pass, and Mason didn’t run a route.
Gives me a bit of validation for dealing him + TeSlaa for Davante Adams earlier this week. I didn’t think it would be this bad, but then I didn’t think Wentz would be a total and complete disaster either.
Dynasty. Competitive team 1st year after a start-up. Deep at RB, BYEs + Garrett Wilson injury created a need for a WR.Interestingly AJones was in on the 1st series for 1st & 2nd downs and Mason came in on 3rd to pass protect.

Okay. Very cool. Don't hate it at all if you have a shot. Def don't hate it if Adams can coax one more year out of himself.
When healthy I strongly prefer Jamo as my WR5 behind Chase, Rice, GW, and Adams as a what the heck flex or BYE filler.
