RB Kendre Miller, NO (2 Viewers)

Devin Neal will be better than Miller
i know Miller has been disappointing but if the Saints really felt RB was a need they would of a) signed an FA or b) not wait until their 7th pick in the draft
I like Miller, but I don't think your point stands very well ... They have Kamara. It's great to have a good backup but when you have Kamara RB is not a need in the first place.

Miller and Dennis Allen never got along. I think he will have every chance to win the RB2 spot with the new regime.

Sure, he could continue to disappoint, but I don't quite get calling him one of the biggest losers of the draft day simply because the Saints took a running back in the 6th round.

I liked Devin Neal coming into the draft, viewing him as a favorite in a huge tier of RB options at the 2.3 of a 1QB dynasty rookie draft. He sounds like a polished back that checks a lot of boxes, with questions of just how much "juice" there actually is. A guy that will stick and by valued by NFL coaches, with big question marks about whether that's sticking as a starter, committee back, or a career backup.

The NFL wasn't shy about using 1st, 2nd, 3rds, 4ths, and 5ths on RBs in this draft, despite the depth. He was passed on and taken as the RB17. I do like the landing spot for Neal with Kamara's age and Miller's injury struggles.... but he's a 6th round pick. Miller had the voltage to get drafted in the 3rd. Obviously, he's been a disappointment with the injures, but the 3rd round pedigree has flashed on a very limited basis in NFL action. Availability has been the issue. Very publicly being in the coach's doghouse over said injuries probably hasn't been helpful either.

I would have been extremely bullish on Devin Neal the 4th rounder at this spot. Devin Neal the 6th rounder? That's pretty close to the best Kendre Miller managers could have hoped for coming into the draft imo. We should all know this guy is one more soft tissue injury away from being forgotten. If he does manage to stay healthy, I still think next man up after Kamara is there for him.

For a 6th rounder, I still like Neal. Moved him to the bottom of round 2. More realistically, a guy I'm happy to spend a 3rd rounder on. Not an uphill journey to win out over Miller, because there's a great chance Kendre scratches with another injury. Getting the backup job and doing enough with it that NO doesn't invest in a top RB when Kamara exits, that's going to be a very steep uphill climb.

Miller hasn't exactly set the world on fire. Neal looks like on of the better backs in this very deep class.

I dont think it is too far fetched to suggest that Miller could end up dropping down the chart behind Neal or off the roster if they sign a vet back up to Kamara. Just seems to be that he is more at risk than many other RBs after the draft.

I think most rational Kendre Miller shareholders understand the guy is falling into the abyss with one more injury setback. Particularly, an early one during camp before he's able to build any equity in season. That's what knocks him out. That's when a veteran of consequence gets added to the mix. Not before.

I think Neal was drafted to be the "veteran" backup to the workhorse Kamara if Miller can't stay on the field. The pick makes a lot of sense for a team that recognizes Miller's upside and the value of keeping a path open for him, while also needing a capable and versatile #2 that can seize that role if problems persist.

I'm not suggesting it's not a competition and that Neal can't outperform his 6th round draft stock, and pass Miller even if fully healthy. But I wouldn't sleep on Miller's explosiveness if he can stay healthy. I would guess that both will have opportunities behind Kamara. There's a world where both guys are sharing the backfield post-Kamara. For a 6th rounder and a guy with Miller's injury setbacks, that would be a pretty favorable outcome for both. If we're being honest, 'Other' is probably the most likely answer to the next star fantasy RB in New Orleans after Kamara.

This is the real story I think.

Also, look at next years FA list at RB..............

He's worth a flyer, Kamara's not getting any younger, ADP could rise as get closer to the season, unless he pulls a hammy of course.

He was a better prospect than Neal, well, at least as an athlete. Neal may have him beat in between the ears.

As cheap as he is, def worth a flier
