I looked up snap counts.
Williams played 100% of the offensive snaps. He even played 6 special teams snaps too.
Freeman played 16 special teams snaps. No offensive snaps.
Rivers played 20 special teams snaps but no offensive snaps. His 4 offensive snaps week 2 more than Freeman has this season.
Evans was inactive.
Its definitely all Williams for now.
With no other RB getting offensive snaps and Williams still playing some special teams as well, I have to wonder about the snap management here. If this continues while great for Williams opportunity in the short term and managers who have him, i would worry about him wearing down.
No idea why MFL had Evans as the #2. He doesnt even play special teams yet.
Just looking at Freemans listed weight on PFR it looks like he added 10 lbs and he is more FB/LB size now.
Completely agree! Why is my running back returning punts?!
Is that what he is doing?
If so it says good things about the coaches trusting him to do that. That he has good hands, protects the football well and can find running lanes in tight spaces. Teams usually have the guy they trust most to handle that kind of job or even a specialist who works exclusively on that part of the game. While I think it would be good to see his snaps managed more, I do think its a positive thing that they are having him do that job.
Some leagues even reward players points for return yards. I am guessing you’re not in one of those though.
