RB Kyren Williams, LAR (4 Viewers)

In a TD only league I traded next years 3rd and James Cook for him and M. Evans. When I say TD only that's all it is no points for anything else.
Ahhh, an "amish rules" fantasy football league - no frills and thrills just the essentials and a lot of ties, I assume.

Offered Gainwell and 24 1st and got rejected. For those wondering about value etc
Wow......if someone offered me a 2024 1st.....I would probably bite knowing how this position changes like my underwear.
Lol, I was going to offer up some players to the Kyren owner in dynasty but if his asking price is a potential starting RB + 1st next year+? I think I'll just stay put, because McVay will probably have Zach Evans in there by Thanksgiving.
No ties home field advantage breaks those. TDs values depend on distance 12,9 and 6. So not as many ties as you'd think. I hate the home field advantage rule.

It's a keep 6 keeper league. I got Cook with the 1.12 this year I just think Kyren scores more than Cook so I took the offer.

I have been in this league damn near 25 years I wish we would change the rules some but the other owners are change adverse.
I left a league because it refused to switch from TD-only… in 2004.
TD only is the best, yards are for houses.
Says the Robb Riddick owner from 1988.

I had Thurman Thomas that year. I still have to look up that TD vultures name every time I think of this.
Wow, I don’t hear of many people that have been playing this game longer than me. I started in 1991. Didn’t know what I was doing and chose Flipper Anderson with my 1st ever pick 😂
Yeah Im old.

My cousin had Riddick that year and beat me in the title game that season in our 10 team league.

We started counting yards in every season after this in large part because of this type of thing and switched to dynasty format soon after as well.

I think our first year playing was 1987.
Is Zach Evans or Ronnie Rivers the handcuff?
MFL moved Evans to #2 but I don’t know where that was sourced

Interesting. Yeah that makes me wonder as well.

As I said, without any certainty about it of course, Evans may be the better long term stash to have here.

It would be nice to have a Rams homer chime in on this or someone who is tracking it more closely than I am.

Technically I think it is Rivers, but I doubt he's too hard of a hurdle to jump. People who live by a Sean McVay RB, die by a Sean McVay RB. Kind of like dying by a thousand cuts.
Sounds like someone missed out on Williams 😂

I have a 1 point lead with Kyren going while he has Nacua. Fingers crossed for a big game from Williams tonight!

Good luck. May the fantasy Gods shine a winning light on you and keep Williams healthy.
I can agree with that. I have him and am starting him this week. I doubt his performance would determine whether I win or lose this week, but I want all my players to do well even if my win is already highly probable even if he were suddenly scratched.

So, who's the RB stash here?

  • Ronnie Rivers
  • Royce Freeman (activated)
  • Zach Evans (not activated)

Good question, was just trying to figure that out. I would think Royce would be a better fit to replace Kyren? Royce is 2 pounds taller and almost 40 pounds heavier.

Strange game last night.

Didn't seem like LAR were interested in running the ball. Also, Stafford misfired on several throws out of the backfield to Williams. Could have been a much bigger night.

100% usage. No sign of ANYONE else.

I looked up snap counts.

Williams played 100% of the offensive snaps. He even played 6 special teams snaps too.

Freeman played 16 special teams snaps. No offensive snaps.

Rivers played 20 special teams snaps but no offensive snaps. His 4 offensive snaps week 2 more than Freeman has this season.

Evans was inactive.

Its definitely all Williams for now.

With no other RB getting offensive snaps and Williams still playing some special teams as well, I have to wonder about the snap management here. If this continues while great for Williams opportunity in the short term and managers who have him, i would worry about him wearing down.

No idea why MFL had Evans as the #2. He doesnt even play special teams yet.

Just looking at Freemans listed weight on PFR it looks like he added 10 lbs and he is more FB/LB size now.

McVay called an odd game. He probably gets a TD if they run it at the goal line.

Boy, I'm a shareholder, but if he wants to be trusted on screens he'd better not be so sloppy. Last week he tapped one up in the air that was intercepted. Had an identical one last night was miraculously dropped by the defender. There were a lot of uncatchable screens, but these catchable ones becoming INT risks can't happen.

Completely agree! Why is my running back returning punts?!

Is that what he is doing?

If so it says good things about the coaches trusting him to do that. That he has good hands, protects the football well and can find running lanes in tight spaces. Teams usually have the guy they trust most to handle that kind of job or even a specialist who works exclusively on that part of the game. While I think it would be good to see his snaps managed more, I do think its a positive thing that they are having him do that job.

Some leagues even reward players points for return yards. I am guessing your not in one of those though.

Yes he’s the punt returner. I would hate to see him go down on a punt return. His high ankle sprain happened on a kick off last year.

I'm curious if they'll bring in someone like Fournette. Williams can't shoulder the full load every week and they don't appear to love Zach Evans so far. Freeman/Rivers just feel like special teamers at best.

Kyren Williams (hip) returned to Rams practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

It’s not everything we need to see, but it does put Williams back on track to suit up against the Eagles’ tough run defense. Playing nearly every down for Sean McVay’s much improved offense, Williams has six scores through four games. That rate is going to take a hit with red zone dominator Cooper Kupp returning, but any time you play all three downs as a running back, you’re going to find yourself at least on the RB1 fringe.

I can't get rid of this guy for a 2nd in the one dynasty league I have him. I guess we will ride this production as long as we can. The usage is insane!

In 1 league I'm in the following trade happened last night:

Team A gives Kyren Williams and Calvin Ridley

Team B gives Saquon Barkley

Not sure I would give up Saq for that... but then again, I own Kyren & Ridley and I don't know if I would give them up for Saq... so I guess that is fair.

A wise man once said the best trades are the ones where neither side is sure who wins.

Wish you were in my league. I feel like I’m a running back away in one dynasty league and I have Ronnie Rivers and Zach Charbonnet on my bench. The Kyren owner has K Walker and Kyren. I offered Zach and a 2nd and he turned it down. IDK what to do. He wants a first and something else like Charbonnet but that’s insane to me. He also has D Swift and Aaron Jones so him declining the trade even makes less sense. One of those guys is already on the bench every week. I offered a rookie handcuff that’s shown promise and a 2nd.

I think the value of Kyren is probably a 2nd and a small piece especially with McVay as HC where he can overnight decide to change RBs and Kyrens value would tank. We’ve seen it several times before and I would want to hit the cash register before it happens . It should be fairly easy to get just a 2nd I would think but every league is different.

What are your league settings? I'd snap take that in most leagues!

I'm sitting him in my PPR league. Going with J.Cook & Kamara and I'm using B.Hall at Flex. I don't like the MU for Kyren & the hip injury is giving me pause. Plus, I have options. Actually have N.Harris as well. I think i would go with Mostert over KW. Just a hunch but I think Mostert gets the bulk of the work for Miami this week.

Tough game this week. Hopefully he can still produce
Assuming the hip thing isn't a big deal, I think he'll be ok.

McVay is going to be pass first against that secondary. I think when Kyren runs, it's going to be in non obvious run situations. Mcvay is very good with this.

Also feeling LAR getting it rolling with Kupp back, at home, PHI traveling west, and I think F. Cox is out in the middle.

Any issue with Kyren's hip? Looking for the injury report for Friday. Was he full participant?

Picked up R. Rivers just in case.

He is. Jalen Carter will be asked to play more snaps. But so will one or two guys that don't normally play much.
Reports are Philly is missing several DL but has good depth. The key could be fatigue for the younger DL who are not accustomed to playing significant snap count.
With unrestricted Kupp back they can’t crowd the box but still have talent on DL

Should be good, but I'd think Rivers is a solid stash regardless.

Looked good last week, and Kyren is pretty small for the workload he's been getting.

Yeah I think the LAR offense is in a good spot today. PHI long trip west. Banged up. Should be Stafford slinging it with Kupp back and Kyren put in good positions especially goaline.
