I saw ESPN tease the beginning of Sportscenter about trouble in the Patriots backfield but then I didnt see them mention it at all

Did anyone see what they said?

All they said was that there are rumors that Dillon is becoming disgruntled. But Maroney denied it and said that him and Dillon have a good relationship and that if Dillon really is disgruntled he needs to take his acting to the big screen cuz Maroney cant tell if he is.

Maroney will have a huge effort! Some think that the RBBC is a preference.....despite Dillon's good efforts thus far, L.M. is the rock! L.M. 135 yds and 3 TDs.......Dillon 54 yds. :hey:

I want to start him over Droughns, but don't know if he is expected to play at this time. Any updates would be appreciated.

Anyone know why Maroney is listed as Questionable? Just another Belichek quirk?

Also, why should Dillon be disgruntled? Maroney rarely gets shots at the endzone. He runs the ball between the 20's and Dillon gets the TDs...

Is Maroney playing today. I read he hasn't practiced all week. Typically when you don't practice on Friday, you don't play.

Any word or info?

This is the first I have heard about Dillon being disgruntled. There was actually a big article in the Boston Herald this week about how Dillon has really taken to his role.

IMO I think Dillon is playing hurt. I really think his shoulder/arm is bothering him. He's been pretty quick to take himself out of games after many of his runs.

As for Maroney...who knows. It wouldn't surprise me if he's inactive or if he gets 20 carries. It's the textbook game time decision and when the Pats are involved it's never easy on the fantasy community.

One thing to watch here is Patrick Pass. He's eligible to play now and practiced this week. If the injuries are legit and he's capable to go today he could steal a few carries.

Where did you read this? :link:
Sportsline FWIW. Sounds like he missed the team portion of practice all week.http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/432895
Certainly that's noteworthy, but missing the "team portion of practice" isn't precisely the same as "missing practice" or "not practicing". It can imply lighter work to get him ready for Sunday just as easily as it can lack of sufficient preparation to play at all. It sounds like I'm nitpicking, but we need to be precise here.

Very confusing...Footballguys says he practiced Friday, albeit partially. Sportsline says he missed practice. Any clarity from a Pats fan would be great.

I agree...pin this please.

Agreed. Sportsline isn't very precise here when that subtle difference could mean the world.

RB Laurence Maroney, Patriots: Ankle. We hear he was stretching, running, and laughing every morning in the media-access portions of practice. Sounds like a go to us.

why would dillon be disgruntled? he gets to score all the touchdowns...

just corey being corey i guess

IF he is disgruntled, it's because he looks at Maroney and says to himself, "Wow, this guy is 10 times better than I am, so I should B--CH now so just maybe because I'm a vet I will keep getting most of the carries".I expect TJ to start doing that soon also :D

ESPN just had a report on the jets/pats game and no mention of Maroney was made. One would think if he wasn't playing, they would have mentioned it.

They also did mention that the wet field would benefit both of the Pats running backs. So it soulds like Maroney is playing

Just a note here from a homer.

12:15 here and it is raining HARD. I mean torrentially pouring.

I cant imagine the field being anything but a big clump of mud after this rain and if it keeps up, there is no way the passing game can get going.

Time to see if Maroney is a mudder.

i'm starting maroney over deuce, FWIW. i think maroney can do more with 12-15 carries vs. NYJ in the slop than most other "starting" RBs (esp. ones playing tough defenses) who get about the same carries.

Maroney hasnt done enough to warrant a start, Im sticking with Dillon. Seems like this is his type of game.
