RB Michael Carter, ARZ (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure he is matchup proof, but being the speedy pass catcher should give him some value in PPR for sure. He was looking good before this High Ankle Sprain....dang...now it's a bit tough to trust him in the playoffs. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I had dropped him after the injury as I needed that roster spot.

Not sure I can afford to really pick him up nor trust him...especially feeling Rhamondre will get the start.  I guess if somehow Swift gets IR'd today I can try to get Carter through waivers.

Similar position. You think Rhamondre starts over Harris -vs- Indy? If so, what kind of numbers do you see him putting up?

You shoukd trust him. He's a solid player and it was not a high ankle sprain?

Yeah just bad timing bc he was really putting up steady production. But I can't trust that offense rn, Zach is a hot mess, and it's a tough divisional road game V a defense playing at a high level.

BUT keep in mind my options might not be as limited as others, so everyone really has to evaluate playing based on your own rosters.

He’s back for Sunday.

How much of a workload though remains to be seen.
Hmmm, tempting. I’ll probably roll with Bateman as my Flex.

Now I have to cut someone in order to move Carter from IR. One of my 3 DSTs (lolz) is the obvious candidate but also considering Netflix Reynolds.

But if any one of the other 4 who were inactive last week (McKissic-Pollard-Swift + Hock) are out again, problem solved. Seems like the two Lion players have the greatest chance of not suiting up. We’ll know more after the presser & practice report tomorrow.

I get what you’re saying about the uncertain work load but oh my gosh are they flat with Ty & the WR castoffs. Wilson desperately needs those high percentage, low risk dump offs to Carter bc he’s just incapable of pushing it upfield.

Miami is going to blitz them 30+ times. Screen game to the rookie might be the cure.

Yeah, I think Ty has worked himself out of the rotation for the most part. But there is still the specter of Coleman cutting into Carter’s touches if the former has recovered from his concussion. Coleman is also no world beater, but has played reasonably well and Saleh does seem to like/trust him.

If Carter is healthy he is going to make an impact over the next couple of weeks. If someone is lucky enough to have a bye, he's absolutely worth the pick up to see how it shakes out.

@NYJetsTFmedia

When asked about Michael Carter this week, Robert Saleh didn't skip a beat:

"He's playing"

RB1 is back

Jets head coach Robert Saleh said Michael Carter (ankle) will have a "significant role" in Week 15 against the Dolphins.

Returning from an ankle injury that kept him sidelined since Week 11, Carter is primed to resume his role as New York's lead back against Miami. The rookie had accounted for 61 percent of the team's rushing attempts from Week 4-10 before suffering the ankle injury. He was on his way to a solid outing against Miami when he hurt the ankle, gaining 65 yards on ten touches. The Dolphins have a middle-of-the-road rush defense. Carter profiles as a strong flex option who should see at least some involvement in the Jets passing offense.

I want to use him this week because I need the upside going against Kelce.

But really struggling on benching either Barkley or Zeke.

Tough one. You should do it, says random-internet-guy-with-no-skin-in-the-game.

I have not watched any Jets games, and this is a bit off-topic, but what happened there?

Seemed like it was developing into a 1A/1B with Carter and Johnson, and Ty was showing some explosiveness. Then when Carter went out, Johnson's role decreased. Was he making a lot of on-field mistakes?

Hard for me to say. All I know is they’re completely lifeless on offense with Ty as the feature back. Of course their two best playmakers have been out & Zach at thus stage doesn’t elevate anyone around him it’s not all on Johnson by any means.

Gotta think that Carter will put up SOME numbers given Selah's encouraging comments and the Jet's need to move the ball.

That said, the moved games are killin' us. I could start Carter on Sunday OR do I take the chance of starting one of Penny/Sony-vs-Henderson?.......if Henderson plays, he and Sony cancel each other out and I gotta run with Penny.

Any predictions for Carter? These fake FF playoffs are upping the anti for sure.

Fair question - not really sure. Once Carter got hurt, they seemed to favor Coleman as the veteran presence. And to be fair, Coleman played reasonably well while Ty didn’t seem to do much with his opportunities (even when Coleman got concussed). To be sure, it’s hardly Ty’s fault that the offense is so terrible, but Carter and Elijah seem to be the only sparks and Saleh clearly recognizes that.

Ty Johnson inactive - that should tell you all you need to know about how Saleh feels about him now. Expect the Carter show today with some Coleman mixed in.

not surprised, Ty looked like he was wearing concrete shoes last week

Carter saw 20+ touches 3 out of 4 weeks before he was hurt

they def view him as an RB1 and I think he’ll be very involved

Coleman outplayed him in the first hslf

Offense was trash in the 2nd half

one pass  to the RBs today, I don’t get that

with the Dolphins blitz packages thought they screen all day
Thanks...terrible..........guess I should have waited and started a Ram or Seahawk...ugg

In one league where we go the distance for W/L and total points splitting the pot Michael Carter is in the conversation for 2 RB and 1 Flex amongst these choices: S Perine, C Patterson, K Vaughn, M Carter, K Hunt, R Stevenson. 3 start, 3 sit. The only vibe I have so far is Hunt sits lol.

After 17 weeks our team is up by 7.2 points going in so every point really does matter. Crazy to watch the whole season come down to last moment score or FG or INT or sack that culminates into the entire 18 week season in the NFL.

Edit: played Carter last week and he was off to a great start, then concussed. Ouch! You'd think I'd learn my lesson. But I also see a talent. A solid RB 2.

Debating whether to start Carter in my Flex over Penny vs Ari.

That start last week was nice, and it's likely that Buffalo goes up and the Jets are forced to be aggressive.

Penny has been tooooo good. That's my 2 cents. BUF rush D can be had and Carter is a good catching back. However, Penny has been balling out and likely to have more opportunities.

It's kinda where I am at as well. Penny has been possessed by the spirit of AD.

Agree - there are not too many RBs I’d start over Penny at this juncture, and Carter is not one of them.

I’ll take “sentences I’d never thought I’d write for $500”, Alex.

LOL...ain't that the truth! I haven't been able to bring myself to start Penny yet...so I sure hope he keeps the streak alive.

Going Kamara, Sony, and Penny.

There was a game when Carter was out that he dropped a few passes and lost a fumble and since then his playing time has dwindled.

Jets will be missing some o-line, Davis, Moore, Berrios, and I think Crowder so on the good news front Carter will see volume but on the other hand I’m not sure how effective the offense will be. Bills can put pressure on Wilson - who has played well the last three weeks - it could be a tough day for Jets offense.

Starting Penny turned out aight...190 and a TD.

Hall no - Carter is going to have to adjust his diet to eat a lot less
Ha. I was going to make a joke about this as well. I mean, what else is Carter going to say? He has 2 choices:

A. I’m going to fight tooth and nail for carries and I’m pissed that the Jets drafted another RB so high, or

B. It’s all good. Plenty of carries to go around.

he chose the high road, which is a smart move imo.

Carter will get a lot less but at the same time I think more then people are expecting.

But he's got the right attitude or I should say the attitude I'd have if I was a RB and that would be while I'm playing on my rookie contract I'd welcome being part of a RBBC vs a foundation type back. Maybe at some point before you reach that second contract you'd like a chance to show you can do more but in general I'd welcome the lack of wear and tear and decreased injury odds of playing less.
