RB Quinshon Judkins, CLE (3 Viewers)

Not a big surprise, but good to see. Now let’s get past the looming suspension…

I don't understand why there's a fear of suspension when he met with the nfl prior to wk2's game and then played. Wouldn't they have just suspended him that week(s) and not let him play? It doesn't make sense to me that they would let him play and then suspend him afterwards. I get that there's no rhyme or reason with the nfl but it would be even more out of the ordinary if they did suspend him now.

Wishful thinking.

The interview is part of their investigation process. Only thing allowing him to play means is he won’t be facing the exempt list.

Somewhere between 30-35 across multiple FF sites out there, lot of 33-34 rankings
I'd have him closer to 25 and maybe higher, right around the James Connor area, RB2/3 Flex-1 with upside
High risk this week and I am not sure if there is a high reward for the risk. The Packers defense has been smothering offenses so far.

Looked ho-hum to me on his touches. Stat sheet was flattering playing from behind against a defense that seemed more worried about stopping the pass. I did not see anything in his reps that looked special. I'm also worried (certain?) that Cleveland will be a bad offense and a bad team in general, playing lots of unfavorable game scripts from behind. All the same, he could have value by virtue of the opportunity. I went low on him in waivers in my redraft league this week and was surprised to win the bidding. I could see a Tyrone Tracy type of rookie year where he has value as a RB2/RB3/FLEX on a bad team. I'm not dreaming much bigger yet.

Anyone gonna fire him up this week?

Can't say the prospect of starting him vs Green Bay is particularly appealing.
I got 31 teams I have to set a lineup and I think the worst RB I'm going to start is Rhamondre so not me. Still feel he's very much in the ramp up phase. Feel like I'm about 1-2 weeks from truly considering starting him unless some injuries force my hand.

My exact position also. Except the 31 teams bit. That sounds like a job.

And the interview occurred on wednesday and he played sunday. Plenty of time to have made a statement about suspending him or even preventing him from playing that week.

On my bench this week.
Week 2 touches went 13 to Judkins, 11 to Ford, and 7 to Sampson. All 3 were involved in the passing game, with 3, 5, and 3 catches. My guess is the 42/35/23 split will be closer to 50/25/25 in week 3.

I will take the over on this weeks percentages for Judkins, especially if the defense can keep them in the game. 0-3 is a tough hole to climb out of and desperate situations cause desperate reactions. If they deem Judkins gives them the best chance at a victory, then he will see a good amount of the carries.

Yep...if Judkins only sees ~50% then it's a blowout (which is entirely possible)

If he's going to get 20 carries a game, Judkins a must start every week. He looks like the best player on the Browns offense and if their defense can play like this... definitely a gameplan I can get behind.

Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins is scheduled to meet with the NFL this week about its investigation, but there is a real possibility, and even likelihood according to one source, that he will make his NFL debut next Sunday at Baltimore.

- Schefter

Interesting here because Schefter doesn’t bother with updates unless hype leads to his alignment of fantasy football outcomes. His twitter quote below. Half a million views. God knows how many retweets. Basically means he’s active next week.

I read this as the Browns can’t wait to unleash him.

Does he even know the playbook?

From what I understand he received Playbook and Package installs during voluntary rookie OTAs earlier this year.

He likely knows the system.

Running backs are generally the quickest to be able to get up to speed. Lots of freshly traded guys get meaningful snaps less than a week after joining their new teams. Granted this is a rookie…

The question is what kind of shape he is in and how much time he spent studying that playbook.

IMO Judkins will be the primary/lead back within 3 games. My take.

UPDATING:

He’s a low end RB1 Rest of Season

Yep I think after week 3 is a reasonable time to heavily adjust our priors and rerank. He's looking like he should have gone where Hampton was. I obviously get why he wasn't but but he looks poised to have an excellent rookie season.

Liking what I am seeing. If the Brown’s can eventually settle their QB situation, QJ can be phenomenal. U til then, as long as the defense can keep them in games he will still be an asset.

Interesting situation.
Back to back weeks of a 30+ yard run.
He took 18/19 rush attempts, and he gets some passes.
Workhorse load.
Almost 100 yards vs GB D.
He is at least a RB2 moving forward but the offense caps upside.
If he continues to improve then he is a league winner.

Browns offense is 100% the limiting factor here.

they struggled to move the ball the entire game.

IF the defense can continue to keep the games close he should produce, but I have the feeling he will put up some real duds in games that the Browns get too far behind.

Mmmmm I think he'll get some receptions in that case as well. Opportunity for TDs may be limited

This is why I'm not rushing out to start him week 4. Detroit could run this team out of the building.

And last week the same was thought about Green Bay

I didn't think so. Green Bay is banged up, this had conservative game plan and low scoring slug fest written all over it. That isn't Dan Campbell's style and they have more weapons than Baltimore

I owe this thread a "thank you" for encouraging me to at least put a bid on him when he became available in my league. Ended up grabbing him for 28% of my faab--and after losing James Conner today---it was a needed grab.

Quinshon Judkins had 18 rushes for 94 yards and a touchdown in the Browns’ Week 3 win against the Packers, adding one catch for one yard.

Judkins was the only productive part of the miserable Cleveland offense, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the team’s offensive yardage. His highlight came on a third quarter run in which Judkins rumbled for 38 yards, shedding a couple tacklers along the way. Judkins saw all of the Browns’ goal line work and managed to punch in a one-yard score in the second half — the team’s only touchdown of the day. Judkins had 18 of the Browns’ 19 running back carries and ran a route on 15 of Joe Flacco’s 49 drop backs (Ford led the backfield with 19 routes). Judkins should be considered a top-20 fantasy play in Week 4 against the Lions.

I guess Cleveland is gonna want to control the pace of the game then and keep the Lions offense off the field. I wonder how they could do that

Sure didn't do that today - shut out through 3 quarters and 2 of their 3 scoring 'drives' in the last 5 mins net only 20 yards of total offense. Up to that point the offense generated just 7 first downs.

94 yds and a TD is nice but better still is the Browns won!
Might seem silly to some when a player excels but the team ends up losing, I think it matters when a player does well and actually helps the team earn a victory
Judkins stabilized them on offense even as they were having issue in the passing game

Flacco did not help the Browns today except that he was calm late in the game as they were coming back

Lions are built to stop the run on defense, it’s the pass that gives them issues. Won’t be easy for Judkins.
