RB Roschon Johnson, CHI (1 Viewer)

Someone offered me Zamir White for him in dynasty this morning. I'm leaning toward sticking with Roschon but thought that was interesting given White's offseason value.

dropped Tyjae Spears for him. Titans offensive line sucks too, and Pollard after 3 weeks is clearly the top back regardless of what coaches say. My thinking is atleast Roschon has a crack at the starting job and the potential to be a 3 down back. 6'0 225lbs

I love Spears, but they just aren't giving him a fair shot. I am guessing because he is listed at only 195lbs.

It would certainly be a find if Roschon took over the backfield, but my sense is that it will be a maddening 3-way committee even if Roschon leads the way.
Hard not to see it being a RBBC of some sorts, whether it’s 2 or a 3.

As arguably the best in pass pro and power running of the 3 the hope I have when investing in him is he has most of the high value passing and goal line downs.

I did typically get more aggressive going after him yesterday on my Swift teams in hopes someone can get going. Anyone. I sure don’t want to put any of them in a them in a lineup this week if I don’t have to.

Could work out if Roschon gets the workload.

Just one note - Spears has been banged up with his ankle injury the last few games so maybe that is what is holding him back from more reps. Better days could be ahead for Spear.

Back to CHI - man they suck. They better not ruin another QB.

Who did Khalil Herbert pisssss off? 4.8 YPC for his career and can't get on the field. 8 carries in 3 games while Swift stinks it up.
I mused over the Herbert situation in his thread. Long story short is I don't think he does what the coaches want (blocking, pass game and even execution of the run plays). Something is odd with him. Maybe he just doesn't get it. It is odd.

Herbert was drafted by the previous regime. Roschon was drafted by the current regime & they also signed Swift, so that’s why Herbert has fallen out of favor.

So the best player doesn't play? Doesn't seem an ingredient for success

These are the Bears we’re talking about

I went through this stuff last year w/ the Bears. Foreman, Hergert, Roschon. I nabbed Roschon for quite a bit this week because of desperation. Common sense tells me this is more of the same & won't pay off.

If he was the best player he would be playing. Something is off with this guy. I don't know what it is but the coaches don't trust him.

I'd be curious what would happen if they traded him to say DAL. Maybe he just can't learn the playbook. They could have given Herbert the lead role this year and not signed Swift, but they didn't.

They could have let Herbert be the lead back when Swift failed this year, they didn't. They are rolling with Roschon.

Something is up with this guy.

Herbert was drafted by the previous regime. Lots of politics go into these decisions.

The old regime treated him the same way.

What're we thinking? Roschon gets the first and second downs and Swift becomes the passing down back?
I think Swift is just a name at this point. Roshon can steal this job with a good game Sunday.
Might be biased as a Swift owner, but I don't think you pay a guy like a top RB and then bench him this early in the season. Best I can see for Roschon is a shared backfield like the Lions where Roschon is DMont and Swift is Gibbs. Obviously poor man versions.

They can't block, and the coaches think that emphasizing a new RB this week or next week will solve their problems but it won't.
Agree a RB can't create his own holes. But a better RB might hit a small vanishing hole quicker and do something with it that a lesser RB didn't. Can't hurt. I have a few Bears fans as friends and all I can do is offer condolences. Got to suck to be a Bears fan.

Watching Swift make bad decisions and literally run into his blockers is not the fault of the o line. Though they are terrible.

Well perhaps but I've seen an awful lot of DTs using the OL to tackle Swift and others. Like why go around the blocker to get to the ballcarrier when you can just knock the blocker into the ball carrier so hard he goes down. I know he's made a couple bad decisions but I do think this coaching (and blocking) is predictable and crappy. I was glad to see them give Caleb the wristband sheet and to open things up though. I am hanging onto hope that Swift gets featured just a skosh more as a receiver and earns the top role back so to speak. Ugh I hate this franchise so much.

It in fact does suck. People generally respect Bears fandom though. Gotta be honest though, I got real tired a real long time ago of strangers saying "DA BEARS" in the SNL voice anytime I'd wear my Bears hat or a shirt.

It’s not all on Swift, a lot of it is that OL. roshon seems to hit the hole harder, more a straight ahead runner. I worried about the Bears signing Swift, the Bears have had poor results with FA skilled players as long as I can remember.

Coming off a good week + Swift apparently not practicing today, I just picked up Johnson. I don't know how serious the Swift injury is or if it's just a maintenance day, but if he is out I feel like Johnson could have a big day.

The schedule is tough. But if this news broke yesterday instead of today have to ask yourself how much FAAB Roschon would have gone for in your leagues.
Chi looked much better last week and they should have won vs GB.
There was more emphasis on running and quick passes after snap. These two changes helped Caleb.

If Swift is out (and I know it's Wednesday) it's a decent flex even if vs Minn. For free.
Cause Roschon will get majority of carries and catches. They traded away Herbert.
At least worth keeping away from your league mates with so many teams on bye this week.

Picked him up with a 0$ bid. Was fully expecting to not get him but I guess guys are holding rather than waiver panicking through byes. He might get the green flag in the flex over one of my TEs (Otton or Jonnu).

I’d imagine he would have been the top pick up in a thin WW week. Regardless, I’m glad I got him for free today too after waivers cleared and the swift news happened.

My RB2 this week was always going to be a warm body with a a pulse.

Would be really nice to see Roschon get a full workload in a bye week mess at the position.

Even if swift plays, Roschon seems to get the goal line carries. So he’s a solid dart throw with upside if Swift continues to sit.
