  • Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Signs with Raiders

    Rotowire MAY 16, 2022
McCormick has signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent, Rachel Gossen of the team's official site reports.
McCormick is coming off a record-setting career with UTSA, including 3,939 career rushing yards and 34 rushing touchdowns. The 5-foot-9 running back is one of three rookie ball carriers along with Zamir White and Brittain Brown to join the Raiders this offseason. McCormick likely will compete with Brown as well as veterans Brandon Bolden and Ameer Abdullah for a depth role this offseason.

  • Raiders' Sincere McCormick: Lands on IR

    Rotowire MAY 24, 2022
McCormick (undisclosed) was placed on IR by the Raiders on Tuesday.
McCormick joined Las Vegas last Monday as an undrafted free agent. The nature of the injury is still unknown, but with the time McCormick is likely to miss it could certainly set back his chances of earning a spot on the roster.

just added this guy in dyno to sit on my IR for the season.

any LA homers got the scoop on him?

i know, wild dart throw, but who knows.

It was literally a day ago that Sincere McCormick was named among the most likely undrafted free agents to make their team’s regular season roster. The promising rookie out of UT San Antonio was signed by the Raiders this offseason, joining a pretty crowded running back room, which should speak to his potential that anyone would think he’d break through to make the roster.

Alfredo Brown
Sincere McCormick succeeds where Zamir White and Alexander Mattison have failed - explosive plays.

Runs of 10+ Yards this season:
- Mattison (10 gms): 5
- White (8 gms): 2
- McCormick (2 gms): 4

I'm expecting him to take over that backfield.

The Coachspeak Index
#Raiders HC Antonio Pierce on Sincere McCormick:

“This is a dude, he’s earning more reps. He’ll keep playing for us. And the way he’s running — tough, physical, hard-nosed, bouncing off, fresh legs… His style of play and physicality really showed up.”

Pierce has a 75% reliability rating on usage/workload coachspeak

With Mattison and Abdullah being UFAs this year, we could be witnessing the future starter in 2025 (assuming he does well).

That's a pretty far stretch - there's a reasonable chance that Pierce and his staff won't be back, and even if they are, it's a pretty loaded rookie crop at RB.

ROS: Roll the dice on McCormick or Jaleel McLaughlin who led the Broncos in rushing this past week. I don't really have any other options to drop right now with Bye-Magedon happening in week 14.

McLaughlin. Mattison and White are due back.

McLaughlin also has to contend with Javonte and Estime, with a week to week guessing game. I think McCormick has a better chance of consistent touches, but not sure I’d want to rely on either with the fantasy season on the line.

Payton is unpredictable but I have a feeling McLaughlin has overtaken Williams as the primary back. Estime and Williams will get a few scattered carries, but McLaughlin looks so much better and faster. The Denver offense looks a thousand times better with him as well. Coming from someone who has Williams and Estime and no shares of McLaughlin.

I hear you - also have Williams and Estime but no McLaughlin. The reason I’m skeptical is that Payton pumped up Estime a few weeks ago and barely used him. Javonte at that time picked up his game and now is barely getting touches. Maybe Payton has finally settled on McLaughlin but it’s a big leap of faith to use him in the playoffs.

Yeah, you would have to be pretty desperate to use any of them in the playoffs.

At the end of last year, Pierce gave Z. White the ball with Jacobs banged up. He was critical to a championship of mine when I shoved him in the lineup twice.

Pierce's coachspeak rating is pretty high. He could use McCormick just as he did Z. White last year. White, Mattison, Abdullah haven't done squat this year.

Schedule: @TB, ATL, JAX, @NO.

Those are Ds that can be run on.

And the LV offense looked ok last week against KC with O'Connell.

Worth taking a chance on capturing lightning in a bottle.

Antonio Pierce today on Sincere McCormick: "He's making the most of his opportunities and he'll keep getting opportunities. I said that last week, I think it was 12 carries he got. Hopefully we can bump that up a little bit more this week."

rolling him out in a standard league this week over his edwards (bye week nonsense).

Just acquired him for a streaming defense. Liking the coachspeak to give him more touches and Raiders have the softest RB playoff schedule coming up.

Is this real or is it noise? Who are you guys actually dropping for this guy?
Antonio Pierce has like a 75% truth meter on what he says. It seems like he has been consistent with what he says and what happened in regards to
Sincere. In other words, AP has been sincere with how he will unleash Sincere.

That’s a spicy take on McCormick

Damn man. I really want to grab this guy but I think I’d have to drop Denver in a league (have Pittsburgh) and would maybe start streaming after this week anyway?

In another league is only a ten team so I don’t think I’d be able to swing it.

A 2nd defense in redraft. Dead weight in dyno. This is the sorta situation in which a coach may give a kid a shot. The guys in front of him on the depth chart also aren't part of the future.
Chances are pretty good Sincere won’t be either. At least not as a FF-worthy asset.

But the chance he will be is greater than zero.

are white and mattison expected to be out this week?
I believe White didn't practice but Mattison was limited.

It's all a crapshoot. Whether you're hoping a starting RB will emerge from K. Vidal, A. Estime, or whoever.

I'm just trying to increase my odds of finding a winning lotto ticket during the playoffs.

He looked good last week to my eyes, other RBs haven't impressed, Pierce talking him up, and LV schedule looks good the rest of the way.

Also, last year, LV got spunky at the end of the year too. Pierce gave rookie Z. White all the touches late last year against KC in December. Could we see a repeat here?

Who knows.

Will it pay off? Probably not.

But I see a path that's better than other RB lotto tickets.

Lol. This is getting ridiculous:

I'm lucky I can wait and see on him this week because usually when the hype train gets out of control like this you're headed for a fall.

This is starting to feel like a crypto thread on Reddit's WallStreetBets.

These are the guys you gotta grab late in a season in dynasty. Redraft, who knows, but Mattison and White are hot trash as far as dynasty commodities. Great draft class next year etc etc, but the Raiders have many many holes to fill also...

Sincerely to the moon!

It's almost like people are trying to will this into existence, and it could just be a complete nothingburger. Regardless, I'm a desperate man with little options on my devastated squad, so I have him slotted in my Flex slot for this lose-and-I'm-out-of-the-playoffs week.

Are the Raiders suddenly out on Mattison if he plays this week? I also thought Abdullah performed well too. I get what you said about wishing this into existence, but I suppose if you're desperate I can see playing McKormick.

Bye weeks are killing me this week and I am desperate. I have Abdullah, who did well for me last week, especially since my league gives points for KR and PR yards, but I was able to also grab McCormick. I have no idea which of the two to start. Can anyone offer a logical way to think about this one, who is the most logical decision lol.

Lots of hope/hype in here, but I see a guy that hits the hole hard, does his best to get north/south, finishes runs but has almost zero vision. He runs with impatience and does not do a good job of setting up blocks. In other words, in many cases, he gets what's there and punishes the defenders before going down. Unfortunately, on almost every run last week, I saw extra yards left on the field. As much as I wish it to be true, this is not an Arian Foster remix. Sorry to be the wet blanket, and maybe he gets better, but I just don't see it.

The way he runs kinda reminds me of Isaiah Crowell
Well, that surely isn't a compliment.
Wouldn't exactly call it an insult either. He just never really hit the big time. Better yards per carry than David Montgomery, and most fans seem to love Montgomery.
If you're going to use someone as a comparison looking for a positive at least use someone that was relevant.
Didn’t there used to be a laughing emoji reaction?
