The Chicago paper bit might have been talking about yesterday's practice even though the article was from today. Just listened to Lovie's Friday press conference and he went through the injury situation with no mention of Jones Nonetheless I still think Benson gets his chances regardless of who starts.

Still questionable on the Bears' official injury report just released while 3 others were removed from the list.

That is the important point.Friday is a big practice day in terms of injury classification. Derrick Mason practiced today on a limited basis for the Ravens and was upgraded from questionable to probable. Joe Horn missed practice today and was downgraded from questionable to doubtful.

Now, there is no hard-and-fast rule from team to team on how they handle injuries, but it can't be viewed as good news for Jones owners that he practiced and yet still is questionable. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a late scratch in the 12:00 hour on Sunday.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers official website reports Chicago Bears WR Muhsin Muhammad, not previously on the injury list, was added as questionable due to a hand injury. He did not practice on Friday. Four other Chicago starters were held out of the team portions of practice on Friday: OT John Tait (ankle), CB Nathan Vasher (hamstring) and LB Brian Urlacher (toe). Tait and Vasher are both questionable for the game and have been held out all week. Urlacher is new to the list on Friday and is considered probable to play. RB Thomas Jones, questionable due to an ankle ailment, returned to work on Friday after sitting out Thursday’s practice.

Bears have little to play for here with the Division locked up and 3 games remaining to lock up home field throughout the playoffs.

Jones is slightly dinged with a tweeked ankle, time to ease back a little and give Benson a little more work and continue last week's plan of adding Peterson more into the gameplan.

I see Jones starting but used less and less as the game wears on ... he's earned a spot on my bench in favour of Edge this week!

Think positively. Benson had 16 carries to Jones' 11 last week. Given the injury, why would it be any different this week? This is the coming out party for Benson

If I had to choose between the two, I'd start Benson over Jones. If both play, I wouldn't mind starting either at RB2/flex

Benson is finally showing he can play at this level. Doing a lot less thinking and perhaps he finally opened his eyes when running (ok that's harsh, but it probably doesnt hurt he knows the playbook now). I hope they can keep Benson and Jones happy for another year as they are a great tandem.

I wanted to post the most repulsive thing I could imagine.... that's how sure I am that Jones will have nowhere near 17 carries. It came down to sex with men or sex with Rosie O'Donnell. Sex with men won out in a photo finish.

What are the odds that TB is down 2-3 scores by the half? Would you put in TJones if he's not 100%, or would you give the rook who is fresher and wants / needs some work the chance?

Go with Benson. Normally it is a real crap shoot based on how many runs Turner calls in each series. But, several factors weigh in favor of Benson this week:1) They already have the division wrapped up so they may give Benson more work2) Jones is hurting3) Yes, Jones does play on third down but the Bears haven't been running the ball alot on third down (although they've had some success doing that)4) Benson has been averaging more per carry and has been outstanding in goal line situations
