Been watching movies too and from Jamaica...

2012 - Better than I thought it would be, which isn't saying much but still worth the rental...I'm a sucker for the disaster movies. 3/5

Pandorum - I'm a sucker for SciFi too...sort of original storyline, but the villains were too cliche IMHO. 2.5/5

Time Traveler's Wife - Way surprised about this one...Solid acting IMHO, I actually got a little teary eyed which doesn't happen a lot with me. 4/5...and totally underrated.

very different films, imo. "Grosse Pointe..." is a much broader comedy compared to "bruges".

I know Grosse Point Blank is a really popular cult movie. But I didn't think it was funny - and I'd call myself a Cusack fan.

In Bruges might be my favorite movie from 2008.

I like Grosse Point Blank a lot, but I could never compare the two. The only similar thing is the main character is an assassin.

GBP is probably my favorite Cusack movie after High Fidelity and Being John Malkovich

Finally saw Watchmen. I enjoyed it but watched it in two sittings so hard to say if the 2:45 viewing time would have worn on my in one. I wasn't particularly fond of the casting except for Rorschach who was very good.

I laughed out loud heartily a few times with the first viewing, so I've been a big fan ever since. Owen Wilson doing bird calls to alert his buddy while he's getting beat up at that bar is about the funniest thing I've ever seen in a movie.

It's a really good (not perfect, but really good) interpretation of a GREAT book.

Yes. I read the graphic novel when it was released in the 1980s. The graphic novel is excellent. The movie had some strong points. But I wouldn't recommend it.

The Grifters is a solid con artist drama. Max is an outstanding look into Hitler's early days and failed art career. Cusack plays his art dealer. I thought that Midnight In The Garden of Good & Evil was awful.

mostly due to lots of Wire alums in it, drugs, narcs, politics involved...eta: plot-wise....i think its more The Shield than the Wire....but it was great seeing some of the old Wire guys on screen again

Trailers almost always show a film for what it is. And the Hot Tub trailer looks really good to me.

Last night I watched Capitalism: A Love Story.

Along with Sicko, he was trying to tackle the most important info that the general public needs to hear about and think about. However, what made Sicko work more for me was that he seemed to learn that people find him annoying, and for the most part he stepped away and let others do the talking. In this movie he seemed to revert back to the silliness and the movie suffered for it. All docs are still worth watching, so I'll still recommend it. It's worth it if it makes you think about something going on, want to read more about a topic, etc.. Just be forewarned that he reverts back to his annoying self more so than the previous movie. Also, I think by now we get the point that his hometown of Flint has had a rough time. No need to beat us over the head for 20 mins each movie about it - we get the message, now move on to another town.

Up in the Air

Pretty much what I expected from a Jason Reitman film, but this wasn't as good as Thank You For Smoking. Clooney is just a little too comfortable in a character we've seen him play many times before. Couldn't get into the character of the younger girl at all. Seemed like there should have been a little more "drama".

Ong Bak 2: The Beginning - If you like this style of movie, you owe it to yourself to see this. Tony Jaa is ridiculous and some of the fight sequences are just incredible. Story is pretty good, even if there is a bit of "been there seen that" to the storyline. Might be my favorite martial arts movie of all time.
