Maybe Netlfix gets it late, because they won't have it until May.
Yeah, Disney makes them delay having access to their movies for about 45 days I believe.  Same with Redbox.  When I worked at the video store, we had to side step that by going out that morning to Target and Walmart and buy our copies.

i might have to buy the blu-ray

Started to watch the first episode and couldn't get through the farting jokes.  I'm assuming it gets better?  Huge Louis CK fan here
Big fan of Louis and Mr. Pink here but I found the first ep terrible.   I didn't notice any fart jokes, it just wasn't entertaining to me.  It sort of got good when Louis was having the convo with his daughter and she was like Fyou man, I don't forgive you, you suck... but it felt like it was getting preachy or whiny or something.   I turned it off before the end I think.

Hitman Agent 47

Solid action flick. A little thin on plot and acting (Zachary Quinto is good at Spock. Not so much at anyone else), but plenty good fare as a shoot em up. 6.5\10

Hotel Transylvania 2

Pretty good kid flick. I thought it was pretty run of the mill,  but my 8 YO and Mrs Simsarge but liked it. Based on their reviews I'll give it a 7/10

Hateful 8

Hated it. Stupid plot, stupid acting, stupid story, stupid Tarantino plot twists, stupid over the top gorefest. Seemed like every other scene was a set up for someone to get their #### blown away. Tarantino still draws a solid cast but seems like he has to try and make up for his lack of a decent story with schlocky shock value. 1/10

Creed - almsot felt like the new Star Wars - basically a "remake" of the original.  Enjoyed it.

Michael b Jordan annoyed me for some reason, felt like they glossed over a little too much.

6/10

The Sting

There are a few great classic films I haven't seen, and this was one of them. Crazy, right? Man do I love this movie. Every character is perfect, and there isn't a wasted scene in the entire movie. They're so entertaining, I could watch Newman and Redford chat about the weather at lunch.

Breaking Bad

Re-watching the entire series. Just as brilliant as it was the first time. As good as TV or movies can get.

Can you believe that HBO passed on this series?

The only flaw in this movie was the awful casting choice for Loretta, the hag that Redford somehow falls for

I always liked that she wasn't the hollywood hottie du jour. gave the whole thing a little more believability, IMO.

one of my favorite movies. I remember seeing it in the theater as a kid and it just rocking my world, in the same way Rocky did around the same time. I learned as many of those rag-time Joplin tunes on the piano as my teacher would let me.

Room - Thought this was really good. The escape scene was amazing.

Bridge of Spies - solid film with a lot of history that was new to me

Black Mass - another solid film with an interesting history. Had no idea about the Senator brother and FBI involvement. Depp was scary in it.

Hateful Eight - Decent when it finally got going but took forever to get there. Easily one of QT's weakest.

My all time fave

I think I burned myself out on watching movies for a bit, but finally have been catching up with the last couple seasons of Mad Men.  A show where really nothing seems to happen from episode to episode or even between seasons has no right to keep me entertained as much as it does, but it works for me.  Still not the best show to binge watch, but really liked season 6, so I will probably get through the final season within a week or so.

Mad Men had a weak middle, but I enjoyed the final season. Still, a weak episode of Mad Men is usually better than most one hour dramas.

So, jdoggy, I would consider this a stupid question but seeing as how you just saw The Sting, have you seen, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid?

Watched the final Hunger Games Mockingjay 2. What a boring finish to a series that felt dragged out even in the books.

Saw Creed and liked it. Yes, it parallels the first Rocky, but Stallone and the lead (Jordan) were both very good.

anybody else watch Chappie? holy ####... I'm a fan of die antwoord, and I liked district 9- so I figured this couldn't be that bad. that bad indeed. felt like an extended "is it tongue in cheek or not die antwoord video" set to robocop. laughably bad.

Haven't seen it yet.

Die Antwoord is cool as a 4 minute music video, but I couldn't sit through a 90 minute movie if it's anything like a Die Antwoord video.

I thought Chappie was pretty damn bad too.  I had some hopes for him after District 9, but I think Blomkamp's directing career turned south faster than M.Night's did.  Oof.

Mr. Show

The brilliant, insane series is FINALLY available on HBO GO. Aside from Monty Python, this is my favorite sketch series of all time. The amazing talents of Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, Brian Posehn, Sarah Silverman, Paul F. Tompkins, Jack Black, Tom Kenny, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Scott Aukerman, and Dino Stamatopoulos made a special show that's never been duplicated.

Dazed and Confused:

Still not a huge fan, but ended up liking this a bit more this time around.  Still something about it that is holding me back, not sure what it is.  (probably my lack of sense of humor) ;)

This is playing as a double feature with Fast Times at Ridgemont High in May in my town. Thinking about going.

do the characters or situations resonate at all from your youth? I didn't grow up in TX, but change the locale and that movie nailed my childhood.

That would be a fun combo, but for me Fast Times >>>>> Dazed

Not really, so that is probably a roadblock.  Maybe a little of the hazing stuff, but I was also late to join sports, so didn't see a lot of that either.  There are a couple characters that also rub me the wrong way - mostly Mike/Tony and the girl with them.  Not saying it's a bad movie, just doesn't connect with me.

The Finest Hours..........the movie experience was not the finest hours.   5/10.
