Again, you probably see more deaths in the Saw movies and more consistently. Are they torture porn too?
Maybe I am just a sick ******* or more of a fan of the slasher movies that I grew up with, but a lot of the fun of the genre was watching people get offed in various ways.
I don't think people were watching Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street movies for any deep message, they probably wanted to see some #### and the bad guy hacking up some teens. I guess I just see these movies as an extension of that (hell, most horror movies as an extension of that urge). Again, I watched a ton of stuff like Hellraiser that was probably just as bad 20 years ago, and usually think horror movies are saying something a little about human nature/fears/urges (probably more than the people making them intended

)
I get old granny who doesn't know better throwing the term around, but not people who like and get movies in general, or who seem to like horror movies. Sorry, I grew up with horror movies and heavy metal - I have a chip on my shoulder from defending both for decades....
