Restaurants have gotten so expensive……also recycling and phone apps (2 Viewers)

Holy **** olive oil is expensive these days. Gotta get myself to Costco

There's levels to that olive oil game and not all are created equal. I've moved over to Avocado oil recently but yeah OO can get pricey depending on the grade/brand.

I don't, but only because we don't have one. Here in Lynchburg, VA, a Hooters would never fly (they've tried many times). I've always sworn it must be the largest city in America (80K people) without a Hooters or a strip club (and never had and never will).
Noted for the retirement location thread.
Off topic, but given the heat of the last month, I'm updating my retirement location too.

I had been hoping for Wisconsin, but northern Canada is starting to sound great.

Greek Salad $17
Hummus appetizer $9
Grape Leaves appetizer $9
Greek plate w/potatoes, rice and gyro meat $30
3 HH beers $5 a piece

$80+ before tip, my wife and I split a beautiful salad that had no lettuce in it which I liked. We split a main course dish and took advantage of the happy hour menu for drinks and apps
$100 w/tip for a nice Greek meal out where we live, that seems a little expensive, lunch would have been a lot cheaper

Daughter is home for spring break. she brought her roommate who has never been to Northern California. Spent the weekend in the city and played tourist (including eating at the wharf/pier 39).
This is going to be an expensive food week for us.

Mrs and I are flying into NYC from South Florida on Thursday morning and staying thru St Patty's Day, gonna be going thru some cash in there
Mostly want to try as many of the better pizza shops as we can, Luigi's, John's of Bleeker, Di Fara
Last time I was there we hit the bodegas a lot, was easy to just grab hot food and keep moving

both of my parents are originally from NY, so virtually all relatives are there (or migrated to florida). I used to go often when i was younger, but not too much anymore. last visit was my cousin's wedding in 2011. great time. not a lot of time in the city, but nice lunch at tao, and a cute french bistro before lion king.

Well, here's one for you.....stay to the end if you want to vomit.

Red Robin to Offer $20 Bottomless Burger Pass for May, But There's a Catch

Red Robin is offering a new twist on one of their classic deals.

The chain announced Monday, April 14, that it would offer a Bottomless Burger Pass in honor of National Burger Month. The passes cost customers $20, and offer guests the chance to order a burger with a bottomless side every day of the month. The chain has previously offered bottomless fries, but this new deal is expanding the previous discount.

Red Robin’s limited quantity of black and gold Bottomless Burger Pass will be available to purchase at RedRobin.com/National-Burger-Month starting April 17 at 8 a.m. PST. Its use is limited to up to $22 per day from May 1 until May 31, for a total potential card value of up to $682. Cards will be loaded with $22 per day, and any unused amount will be forfeited at the end of the day with no rollover.

The cards are limited to one per customer, and cannot be combined with other discounts. Outside of the Bottomless Burger Pass, Red Robin Royalty members will have the opportunity to enter to win free burgers for a year by purchasing at least one burger and one beverage while logged into their account. Members will be automatically entered to win the juicy prize, per Today.

Red Robin, founded in Seattle in 1969, currently owns and operates over 500 franchises and restaurants across the United States and Canada. PEOPLE previously spoke to Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix in 2023 when she collaborated with the chain on a unique concoction.

Madix crafted the Burgertini for the partnership, a vodka martini made with pickle brine, burger juices or beef broth, muddled tomatoes and garnished with bacon and brioche bun pieces. In October 2023, the reality star told PEOPLE, "it's a cross between a classic dirty martini and somewhat of a Bloody Mary because of the tomato and pickle brine. It has that amazing savory flavor to it that I love.” :x

I used to pay around $22 for a 3 liter tin of Italian EVOO a few years ago. Now it is $45.

If you were smart you would've stocked up, I bought enough to bathe in it.
Note to self: Don't go to any M-Diddy 'dinner parties.'
