I've got those same 3 guys in one league. Fortunately I also have Peterson and Fred Jackson, along with McGahee. Yeah, I front loaded my RBs.Go through it every week with having them and Blount and Beanie and Murray as my RB group.
Yea, thank god my QBs are Rodgers and CAM with Graham as TE and Wallace as one of my WR or I'd be toast (with Roddy will wake up)Rodgers has single handily won me a few games this year. Glad I drafted him instead of Vick in my first round.May try and trade CAM for Fred Jackson so I won't have to worry about one RB spotI've got those same 3 guys in one league. I question whether Jackson can continue this pace, but you should try and work something out with that surplus at QB. It's weird, the team of mine I mentioned now has Cam at QB (taking over for my wasted 3rd round Rivers) too.Yea, thank god my QBs are Rodgers and CAM with Graham as TE and Wallace as one of my WR or I'd be toast (with Roddy will wake up)Rodgers has single handily won me a few games this year. I would love more options but the league I am in it's filled with quirky owners who will not trade at all. Only one team is shown they want to trade and their best RB is Jackson.I question whether Jackson can continue this pace, but you should try and work something out with that surplus at QB. CBS says Tolbert practiced today while Mathews & Brinkley did not.Did the Chargers practice today?
Wednesday: Full practice for Tolbert. Concerned neither Matthews nor Brinkley will be able to go on Sunday.CBS says Tolbert practiced today while Mathews & Brinkley did not.Did the Chargers practice today?
After a season and a half of watching Matthews I truly believe that he will be one of those guys who is always nicked with nagging little injuries. I really do not see Matthews ever playing a full season, plus he does not seem to have any urgency to get back in the game when he gets banged.Dynasty league question: I believe Tolbert is a Free Agent after the year. Do you think they resign him or let him go? As a Matthews owner I am tempted to deal him and not mess with the RBBC but he does have alot of talent.
Starting him with confidence. I predict he breaks the century mark in receiving yards this week, and scores a TD.Mathews' prospects for success @ CHI look pretty dim. What are y'all doing with him this week?I'm praying Gore is inactive so I can roll with Hunter vs. Arizona instead.![]()

The Bears D has looked really good the last 2 weeks. But in my PPR league, Matthews has done well most every week. I can't bench him just because the Raiders out game-planned and out coached San Diego last Thursday. Starting him with fingers crossed.Mathews' prospects for success @ CHI look pretty dim. McNeil out and his fill in at LT was a revolving door against Oakland. Peppers just may kill Rivers this weekend.Common sense tells me SD should consider using the strength of their team and run the ball.....a lot. Turner doesn't consider common sense much though so instead they may throw the ball 45 times.Bears D is good, I don't see Tolbert doing much at all. If healthy though, I could see an explosive guy like Mathews having a big day. J Best, McCoy, J Stewart, and Deangelo Williams have all had success against the Bears D. If Mathews truly is healthy now, and he should be with as little as he's done the past few weeks, he could do well against Chicago.Line is Chicago by 3.5 right now so no one is predicting a Bears' blowout. And the O/U is 45 so there will be points put on the board. This could be one of those games SD is supposed to lose but ends up looking really good. The Bears D has looked really good the last 2 weeks. Worst line I've seen in the NFL this year. Obviously anything can happen when you have a HOF QB and quality weapons like VJax, Gates, and Mathews, but this should be Chicago in a cakewalk.I'm enough of a homer that I hardly ever throw against my boys since it ruins the entire weekend, but I'm tempted to put ~ 500 on the Bears. The Chargers are a MASH unit right now and Chicago is humming like a Ferrari. Screams easy money to me.'scrumptrulescent said:Line is Chicago by 3.5 right now so no one is predicting a Bears' blowout. And the O/U is 45 so there will be points put on the board. Chargers Hall of Fame sure. He'd have to win a Super Bowl to go to Canton, there is no doubt about that.HOF?
I'm not saying he will go, but this isn't true. There are QBs in the HOF with no rings.Chargers Hall of Fame sure. He'd have to win a Super Bowl to go to Canton, there is no doubt about that.HOF?
I'm just saying, I think there's no doubt that in Rivers' case, it is true. Did I say that there are not QBs in the HOF with no rings? Didn't think so. I guess it's for another thread, but if you think he is a HOF, make your case. I'll just say this, the numbers say he's good QB, not a great one. He's on pace to average about 3,900 yards over six seasons, while averaging 24 TDs per season. We are not witnessing greatness here. If you don't win a title, your numbers better be great, in my opinion. It would be a disservice to to those in the HOF to put Rivers if he continues at his current rate. Let's compare him to Eli Manning. His six full seasons as starter averages are 3,600 yards and 25 TDs. He's obviously won a Super Bowl. I don't consider Eli a HOF at this point, but I would make the argument that he's more accomplished than Rivers. Neither one has anywhere near an MVP-type of season, which I'd like to see out of a HOF QB. Rivers' winning percentage is better, but Eli stepped in as the starter right away, while Rivers stood on the sidelines for 2 years. Anyway, back to Mathews and Tolbert. I see Mathews going for 70 yards rushing, 50 receiving against Chicago, 1 TD. Big day but Bears win of course. I agree that they'll have to get Mathews (And Gates) going to have a chance with that busted up o-line.I'm not saying he will go, but this isn't true. books always love sd, as a homer you should know that by now. regardless, lol at worst line of the yr.Worst line I've seen in the NFL this year. Warner is a lock. Eli probably has a very good shot, given he already has a ring and has good genes in terms of durability and likelihood to play for a long time.I don't think he's even close. I haven't looked at the numbers but I'd guess Eli's numbers are close to his and and he's got a ring. And I don't think Eli is a HOF QB either. Hell, people even say Warner is borderline.
sd oline is decimated. i think mathews has a good game receiving but not much running roomSo how about Mathews and Tolbert this week? Any thoughts about the topic? Looks like Mathews is healthy and could be due for a good game, maybe 15/90, 3/50/1.
Yeah, that post you deleted about him being on a 200 yard pace wasn't premature at all.AND now a fumble.Where's my buddy shady to remind me how awesome Mathews is?![]()

He's wearing big-boy pants now. No games against San Jose State on the schedule. This guy was an iron man and never fumbled in college. Now in the pros he's the complete opposite. Did anyone see this coming? How is this possible?
Will there be a game in the next several weeks where he has 130 rushing, 85 receiving and 2 TDs? Probably. But predicting when that will happen is the problem. He's far from an automatic start at this point. It's all matchup-based down the stretch.I really don't see any writing on the wall for the Chargers except for their offensive line (and Rivers) playing unimpressive football. The Bears are an elite defense. Not going to judge Mathews' future on this game.
That's a good point. I think his third year can only be his best as he adjusts to the speed of the NFL. Maybe if he played in the SEC, he'd have stepped in as a rookie and tore it up. He did make strides this season even if there's been some inconsistencies caused by a myriad of factors (line, Rivers' turnovers, a ####ty defense that allows opponents to eat up the clock, a couple injuries). He's wearing big-boy pants now.
