Bosa looks like a shell of his formal self.  They should trade him while he is still worth something.

This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read in a 49er thread. Have you seen Bosa the past 2 games before last night? SMH.
As for the game, the fact that we had Green Bay beat even with all the injuries and sloppy play is reason to not start freaking out. I don't know what the deal was last night, but I think it had to do with preparation, maybe we were too cocky, thinking we would roll through them because of the players that were out for GB on defense and their OLine,  maybe we got caught up in the fact that it was our home opener and thought the crowd would be a factor, or maybe Green Bay just wanted it more, I don't know, but play was just sloppy on both sides of the ball. DPI penalties killed us and kept GB drives alive...if we don't make those mistakes as well as Jimmy's bonehead fumble, I think we win the game.
Also...anyone notice Rodgers kept testing Lenoir (and winning)? I kept screaming for Shanahan or Jimmy to go after the Packers rookie CB Stokes, who was playing due to Kevin King being out...one of the times we did, he got called for DPI...we should have been throwing his way all game to exploit the rookie but it didn't happen. Frustrating.
Shanahan definitely doesn't trust Sermon or any of the other RBs that are healthy right now, and it showed. We need our top RBs for the offense to go, there's no way around it, and we STILL came back and took the lead with 37 seconds left. With Mostert out for the year,  it's gonna be tough sledding unless the young guys (and Wilson when he comes back) can stay healthy.  Hopefully Sermon will get better the more he plays...he needs to be more decisive and run downhill though,  he's a bit too dancy behind the LOS. That should come with more playing time and carries. If we can't run the ball effectively, our offense isn't gonna be pretty. At all.
Bottom line is Green Bay barely beat us even though we looked terrible for most of the game.
I wanna see Dre Kirkpatrick active next week (last year he played in 14 games and started 11 of those for Arizona and finished with 56 tackles, seven passes defensed and three interceptions)...and  for the love of god I hope Donte Johnson never sees the field again, he's easily one of the the worst defenders in the league and I don't get why he's still on the roster.
As for Lance...I DO want to see him get more snaps. Shanahan should rotate him and Jimmy more often like he did against Green Bay in week 1, but listen. The plan was never to let Lance start this season. Jimmy is gonna be the guy this year unless we fall out of the playoff hunt, period. I know a lot of people hate that, but it's a fact. We are 2-1 right now, the wheels aren't falling off (yet anyway), and Lance needs time to develop, especially in this system. If we finish 12-5, that's prob good enough to get in the playoffs, so another few losses as the season goes isn't gonna a prompt a QB change. Just accept it. Jimmy and his salary will be gone after this season, so we should be in good shape cap wise, and Lance will be behind center in 2022.
So we've got to tighten some things up, but I'm nowhere near throwing in the towel and writing this team off. We are absolutely still a contender, and if we could just stop losing players to injury every single week we would be in much better shape.
