49ers bringing Tevin Coleman back, Lance to IR

Not worth a waiver pick up IMO, even in deep leagues.

Yeah, he's not very good, but hes a healthy RB body, which they badly need right now, and he's good in pass pro
My leagues don’t award points for pass pro.

49ers scored 30+ points 3 games in a row from Week 10-12 in 2021.

Since then they’ve broken 30 just once in the last 12 games (including playoffs), and are averaging just 20.5 points per game.

Pathetic.

I'm done.

This roster is wasting away with Jimmy at the helm.
He is who we thought he was. Another strong game from the defense wasted when the game should have been put away in the first half. Not sure which was the worst part of the safety play. Garoppolo stepping out of bounds on his own, thereby getting away with throwing a (brutal) pick 6 or losing Trent Williams to what looks like may be an MCL.

Hard to know what to say about this team...in a very awkward place at this moment
I think we had a pretty good idea that the defense would be stellar. The lack of explosive plays by an offense that has Deebo, Kittle, and Aiyuk on it is inexcusable.

100%

But we are probably 2 years out now from having a functional offense if the Lance experiment works out...I'd say just tank but we don't have picks anyway

If we don't fix the O-line, nothing else is gonna matter. We need a center and at least one tackle. McGlinchey is terrible, and Brendel is in over his head.

I dint know if this team will win 8 games this season.

outside of 2020 the 49ers really have had some awful drafts

Yep. Kittle should be a Mark Andrews type player. Instead, he's 4/42 with the occassional blow up game.

Jimmy was horrible last night. Deebo had an easy TD and Jimmy throws up a goose that Deebo has to adjust and make a difficult catch on. Looked right at him on another where he was wide open down the field and then threw a duck in the other direction. Typical 49er game. Dominate early and up 7-0 instead of 21-0.

Frustrating to watch stellar defensive games wasted

After Jimmy was restructured, they had the money to sign JC Tretter. Even though he "retired", he has made it clear he will play under the right circumstances. Not too late to get it done.

Defense will keep them in games and will get even better when Ward returns. They can still win the division because I don't think Stafford is right this year. They keep saying he went through the same thing last year, but he doesn't look the same. But Kyle has to stop coaching to win 17-14. Jimmy is a knucklehead, but let him throw on first down more and throw more intermediate routes.

In the first half Sunday night, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle combined for 15 touches for 141 yards and a touchdown.

In second half: 2 touches for 5 yards

Abysmal

Shanahan isn’t a good offensive coach. He’s as predictable as it gets. This is an elite defense, could’ve developed Trey this year, but he wanted to destroy him to get his prized Jimmy back. Like to ship them both over to Seattle.

Yup, that play they showed the replay, he was looking right, Deebo ran uncovered up the right sideline and he throws some garbage left. Then me misses the other one where if he throws a half decent ball, Deebo scores. We know who he is, that’s why there was excitement from everyone except Shanidiot for Trey to play.

Re the bold above: Cmon man. No way you believe that. The play Trey got hurt on was an RPO, he chose to run and he chose to not protect himself on runs.

I think Kyle was just trying to establish confidence in Lance by not calling a ton of passing plays in his first few starts...get the run game going and call RPOs to let Trey make the reads/decisions and slowly incorporate some play action passes...sadly, week 1 threw everything out the window because of the monsoon, and week 2 was just underway when he got hurt.

IMO Kyle can't WAIT to unleash a full blown attack with Lance once he gets some experience under his belt. He wants to show the world he's smarter than everyone else and the bet way to do that is with the QB he mortgaged the future for. Jimmy isn't a part of his plan, but we're stuck with him for now.

Pretty much. Was so excited from the fan standpoint to see Lance play this year. Trey got so much grief for less than perfect ball placement in the preseason. Last night was one of the worst QB performances I can remember.

I hope it gets better for the sake of the team, but this was a big reminder of what Jimmy is. Nothing personal. Good guy and excellent back-up QB

I think Shanahan is a good offensive coach, but he definitly plays scared. Was hoping going into the season, he would let Trey open it up. The 2nd half monsoon in the opener kind of ruined that and he got hurt so early in game 2 that we didn't get to see much. Everyone knew he would have some growing pains this year, but have to let him work though that and with the defense they have, he could have.

Hard to watch an offense with the receiving options they have run it up the middle on virtually every first down.

I obviously don’t believe he wanted him to get hurt, but I do feel he was absolutely reckless with him. Zero is the amount of times I want to see a QB go up the middle on a designed run in a season, twice in the first quarter is what we got last week.

Now we’re stuck with this bum that nobody else wanted. We know why nobody wanted him, every other GM knows why we didn’t want him. Shanahan seems to be the only person on Earth who doesn’t appear to know why.

Nothing irks me more than his constant grinning on the sideline. I guess if I was wildly overpaid, I’d be grinning too, but regardless, he sucks and now we have him for another year as the window on this awesome defense gets smaller for keeping it all together.

And as others have implied, no lead is safe with Shanahan. Instead of keeping his foot on the gas and trying to build a lead, he plays this brand of protecting the lead instead, so the opponent will always have a chance down to the wire. Just bad coaching, imo.
To add to this, and possibly the most frustrating part about it is having a QB who we know sucks in the 4th. Doesn’t Shanahan see what we see? One possession game down to the wire is always in jeopardy with Jimmy at QB. If we’re up, the best thing we can do is keep our foot on the gas and try to stretch to 2 possessions. I’ve never understood this conservative protect the lead brand of football over the last few years. Jimmy can play half decent with a lead, it’s the pressure from a tie or now needing the score where he folds the most.

The #49ers currently don’t have enough for 48-man game day roster

Did not practice Friday

Azeez Al-Shaair (knee)
Arik Armstead (foot)
Tyrion Davis-Price (ankle)
Ross Dwelley (rib)
Danny Gray (hip)
Javon Kinlaw (knee)
Tyler Kroft (knee)
Tarvarius Moore (hamstring)
Trent Williams (ankle)

The 49ers are 1-4 in their last 5 regular season prime time games. Only win was against the Rams in Week 10 last year.

Yay.

The season ain't over yet.

If the 49ers win today over the Rams they will be 1st place in the NFC West. Everyone would be 2-2 but the 49ers would be 2-0 against the division, putting them at the number 1 spot.

They just need to play like they're capable of. Let's go!

With our O-line issues, I feel like Jimmy is an injury waiting to happen. I hope Purdy is ready if/when his number is called.

inactives vs. Rams

- RB Tyrion Davis-Price
- WR Danny Gray
- DT Javon Kinlaw
- TE Tyler Kroft
- DB Tarvarius Moore
- T Trent Williams
- OL Nick Zakelj

So Armstead in, Kinlaw out for the 49ers' interior D-line tonight. And no Danny Gray, but Willie Snead is active fresh off his promotion to the 53-man roster

With 2.0 sacks tonight, Nick Bosa now leads the NFL with 6.0.

49ers O Line allowed 1 QB hit and zero sacks vs the Rams.

Hufanga has been so good. Was setting up to be like the two prior losses -- offense cannot score, d dominate until final possession and then late score and 49ers lose. Hufanga decided not this time, that was a great play.

Defense playing lights out without Jimmie Ward, Armstead and Kinlaw. Can't wait to see them with everyone healthy.

Hopefully Ward is back by the KC game

The 49ers defense has allowed 3.8 yards per play, #1 in the NFL.

For perspective, the 1985 Bears allowed 4.4 yards per play and the 2000 Ravens allowed 4.3 yards per play.

This could be an historic defense.
