Random winner from last night: Jeff Wilson Jr.
Wilson earned a $69k bonus for the 49ers advancing to the NFCCG.
Being a perennial contender is fun and all, but without the ring… well, you can slide into the Bills thread and ask them how they felt around 1995.Most Playoff Wins Since 2019:
1. Chiefs, 8
2. 49ers, 6
3. Bengals, 5
3. Rams, 5
Kyle Shanahan winning 6 playoff games and making it to 3 NFCCGs with two different quarterbacks is a testament to the roster/talent, coaching and culture in San Francisco.

Yeah. Always needs to be looked into, but "domestic violence" definition has changed dramatically over the years. Did he give her a football style forearm shiver push, or was he trying to push past her to avoid worsening a confrontation? Definitely makes a difference.Fortunately this is a misdemeanor situation. Not downplaying it at all - all DV is bad. But this does sound less bad than many other instances we learn about. And extremely unlikely to impact on-field in the near-term, though the team may evaluate the situation further down the road.
Why do you say that? Omenihu has been pretty solid this year and while Jackson had his moments, very inconsistent, which is why Ryans has had him inactive (I assume Ryans makes those decisions). Losing Omenihu would definitely be a hit to the pass rush.Omenihu being out, would probably be addition by subtraction. He's been an ok player, but I think the 49ers would probably be better off with most of his snaps going to Drake Jackson.
I doubt it impacts his PT.Omenihu being out, would probably be addition by subtraction. He's been an ok player, but I think the 49ers would probably be better off with most of his snaps going to Drake Jackson.
Yeah, I thought he’d been pretty good. Why do you say that? Drake hasn’t been super impressive this year, I don’t think I agree they’d be better off in the short term.Omenihu being out, would probably be addition by subtraction. He's been an ok player, but I think the 49ers would probably be better off with most of his snaps going to Drake Jackson.
Gotta be honest, love everyone just writing off this team with 12 straight wins, love the arrogance from Philly. Curb stomping a bad in division team doesn’t send chills down my spine.
If Purdy can handle the environment in Seattle, I think he can certainly handle it in Philly. Sure I’m worried, but I’m not scared… The fact that Philly is so confident, I think that’s excellent!
Omenihu has been a better pass rusher, though he's also gotten a fair amount of snaps inside. Jackson has been much better against the run, and I think that's a bigger deal against the Eagles. Ultimately, I'm not expecting anything to happen to Omenihu, just more thinking out loud, that it would be a reasonable excuse to use Jackson more. Why do you say that? It does feel that way. Hurts has to be terrible or this is in the bag is read I'm getting on this everywhere. Really would love some extra bulletin board material this week. They've won 12 straight and of the remaining teams (1 of which has a QB with a high ankle sprain) their odds are the lowest to win it all.Gotta be honest, love everyone just writing off this team with 12 straight wins, love the arrogance from Philly. Yep. For some reason, I feel better about this game than I did Dallas. Philly fans seem to think the only way they can lose is if Hurts craps the bed. If SF can expolit their weaker areas on defense (which aren't real weak), get their run game going, and control the clock, we will see what happens.
I'm not gonna talk this week, there's no point. We know who they are and they know who we are. It's gonna be fun.
This is the path to victory. Control the clock, keep ahead of the sticks, convert shot plays off of play action. In the words of George Kittle, make it a 'body bag' game.Eagles gave up 4.6 YPC in the regular season (9th worst).
In their three losses, teams stuck with the run with 30-plus attempts in each game
Wash: 49 attempts, 152 yards
Dallas: 31/115
NO: 35/129
I guarantee Kyle plans to run the piss out of the ball and keep Hurts off the field. Let's hope there's less CMC up the middle for a yard, and more edge stuff.
Philly also has trouble with catch passing RBs, I believe they are ranked around #24 against them.
They are 2.5 underdogs on the road to the team with best record in NFC. That seems pretty respectful. It does feel that way. The disrespect this team is currently getting is borderline amazing... Really hope they come out fired up and playing well.
Brock was a dropped INT away from having a bad game against Dallas. Philly has this tape and will undoubtedly use it.
I think the usefulness of these DVOA stats decreases as you get more granular with these details. If you look up some of those same stats for SF, the Niners also look bad (eg, I think they were 30th in third down short yardage situations and well below average against 3rd receivers).More fun stuff
Eagles’ rushing defense is #32 in defending short-yardage runs on 3rd downs.
They’re #26 in stopping running backs behind the line of scrimmage.
They’re #21 in giving up carries that gain between 5-10 yards on a play.
--
Eagles are 24th in DVOA defending running backs in the pass game.
They gave up nearly 6 passes for around 35 yards per game this season to opposing RBs.
CMC stock pointing UP
--
Eagles’ defense DVOA splits:
Weeks 1-9: #3
Weeks 10-17: #13
Their rushing defense improved from #28 to #17, but their pass defense slipped from #1 to #12.
They rank #22 DVOA against #3 and #4 receivers
Stone cold lock. It's just a matter of how much the NFL tells the 9ers to hold back.Hate to say it, but I don't see us beating Philly
That will happen with the best player in the league comes to town.Fun fact: It's been 3 months since the 49ers lost a game.
Sf gets SPANKED in this one. no way this is a close game no way the Niners can run with the Eagles @ home with those fans, in that weather, with that o-line, hurts and co and the defensive front 7. if stupid Dak doesn't throw those untimely picks last week, Dallas is in this game this week. Niners offense chokes in big games they will only score 19-24 pts it's shanahans M.O.
unfortunately Eagles score 35+. blowout here. Niners will look stupid by 7.30p sunday night.

I think he's a troll. He can't possibly be this stupid. Can he?
To be fair, I don't give too much credence to the Dallas and NO games as 1. Hurts didn't play and 2. Gannon's defensive calls were about as vanilla as possible, IMO so as to not put much on tape expecting to possibly play Dallas.Eagles gave up 4.6 YPC in the regular season (9th worst).

Yep, Jordan has been a big letdown this year, generally. I'm curious as to who graded out better than Lane. That dude hasn't allowed a sack for like two years. Last week he allowed zero sacks, zero hurry ups.Philly O-line is #2 overall in pass-blocking efficiency, but there's an outlier in individual ranks....
LT Jordan Mailata: #41
LG Landon Dickerson: #7
C Jason Kelce: #2
RG Isaac Seumalo: #10
RT Lane Johnson: #2
Very good across the board except for Mailata, #41 of 56 tackles

Sure thing chiefI think he's a troll. He can't possibly be this stupid. Can he?
Be more cool and don't post things like this.
I think they definitely can win - it's more likely than their victory over GB was last year, for example. But I'm definitely more relaxed as a fan this week because Philly will probably win and there's no shame in losing on the road to that squad. Losing to Dallas or Seattle at home the last couple weeks, that would have been a different story.I am hopeful and excited for them to be here. My concern is the oline and the dline. The 49ers needs both sides to play lights out to stay in this game. If that doesn't happen I can see this game getting away from them

Because they are favored at home against a rookie 7th round pick? Why is "All the pressure on Philly this week"?

Fair. I wouldn't say I'm just happy for the team to be there either, but it won't ruin my weekend if they lose either, if that makes sense. There is a lot of defeat in the attitude. While I’m not going full-blown BassNBrew style, I’m also not just happy being here either.
We played the NFCC last year, I’m not excited to just be here, they need to win. This team is much better than last year’s team, imo. If it wasn’t for a monsoon week 1, this game would be played in SF. Weather in Philly is like 50 with clouds and maybe rain, might as well be in the bay.
Purdy is a 4 year collegiate starter and seems to be about as poised a player as we could hope for. Our offense can score with anyone, Shanny just got super conservative last week.
I don't know why you guys are trying so hard to convince yourselves that people are counting you out of this game. I thought that was just bush-league coach motivational schtick. You're on a 12-game winning streak and are only like 2 pt dogs on the road. The Eagles have lost 2 of their last 3. This isn't the miracle on ice or anything, either team has a great shot of winning this game, try to relax and enjoy it.Because they are favored at home against a rookie 7th round pick? Why is "All the pressure on Philly this week"?
Geez...you guys sound like Panther fans.
