To finish this off, the defensive front has to play better; they’ve been pedestrian these last 2 weeks. Playing as the underdog might actually provide them the spark they need.
Shanny is going to have be aggressive. Similar game plan as this week and we’re toast, he has to know this. Run game needs to be established, McGlinchy is gonna have to not suck, and Brock just needs to do what he’s been doing.

Gotta be honest, love everyone just writing off this team with 12 straight wins, love the arrogance from Philly. Curb stomping a bad in division team doesn’t send chills down my spine.
If Purdy can handle the environment in Seattle, I think he can certainly handle it in Philly. Sure I’m worried, but I’m not scared… The fact that Philly is so confident, I think that’s excellent!

One thing that really stands out, and this was against a good Dallas defense, is how many times 49ers were wide open in space but Brock didnt see them, or he was scrambling and couldn't set his feet to throw. Shanahans play designs always has guys open in space, and I think were gonna see more of that against Philly, I just hope Brock learns from the Dallas game and deals with the rush a little better. I think the Dallas pass rush, which was the best he's faced so far, got to him early with a sack, and I think the clock in his head sped up in reaction to it, and he bailed on the pocket early on several plays. Knowing what I know about Brock, he will study the film, learn from it and be better prepared next week, now that he's seen a good pass rush.

Not downplaying it at all - all DV is bad. But this does sound less bad than many other instances we learn about. And extremely unlikely to impact on-field in the near-term, though the team may evaluate the situation further down the road.

Wash: 49 attempts, 152 yards
Dallas: 31/115
NO: 35/129
I guarantee Kyle plans to run the piss out of the ball and keep Hurts off the field. Let's hope there's less CMC up the middle for a yard, and more edge stuff.
Philly also has trouble with catch passing RBs, I believe they are ranked around #24 against them.

Why do you say that? Omenihu has been pretty solid this year and while Jackson had his moments, very inconsistent, which is why Ryans has had him inactive (I assume Ryans makes those decisions). Losing Omenihu would definitely be a hit to the pass rush.

Yep. For some reason, I feel better about this game than I did Dallas. Philly fans seem to think the only way they can lose is if Hurts craps the bed. If SF can expolit their weaker areas on defense (which aren't real weak), get their run game going, and control the clock, we will see what happens.
I'm not gonna talk this week, there's no point. We know who they are and they know who we are. It's gonna be fun.
Omenihu has been a better pass rusher, though he's also gotten a fair amount of snaps inside. Jackson has been much better against the run, and I think that's a bigger deal against the Eagles. Ultimately, I'm not expecting anything to happen to Omenihu, just more thinking out loud, that it would be a reasonable excuse to use Jackson more.
Ultimately it probably makes little difference as its a part time player averaging about 30 snaps a game. I just think Jackson has been underused, and while he hasn't looked great by any means, I do think he's been just as good when he's played and offers more this particular week. Whether that is at the expense of Omenihu, Ebukum, or Willis, I don't think matters much. Just would like to see more Jackson.

It does feel that way. Hurts has to be terrible or this is in the bag is read I'm getting on this everywhere. Really would love some extra bulletin board material this week. They've won 12 straight and of the remaining teams (1 of which has a QB with a high ankle sprain) their odds are the lowest to win it all.
The disrespect this team is currently getting is borderline amazing... Really hope they come out fired up and playing well.
This is the path to victory. Control the clock, keep ahead of the sticks, convert shot plays off of play action. In the words of George Kittle, make it a 'body bag' game.

And Matt Stafford was a dropped INT from being bounced from the playoffs last year.

I think the usefulness of these DVOA stats decreases as you get more granular with these details. If you look up some of those same stats for SF, the Niners also look bad (eg, I think they were 30th in third down short yardage situations and well below average against 3rd receivers).
Stone cold lock. It's just a matter of how much the NFL tells the 9ers to hold back.
That will happen with the best player in the league comes to town.

Sf gets SPANKED in this one. no way this is a close game no way the Niners can run with the Eagles @ home with those fans, in that weather, with that o-line, hurts and co and the defensive front 7. if stupid Dak doesn't throw those untimely picks last week, Dallas is in this game this week. Niners offense chokes in big games they will only score 19-24 pts it's shanahans M.O.

Yeah, the "disrespect" card is being WAY overplayed. That's simply (more) Philly homers going bonkers on message boards than I guess, 9er fans.
As far as what's far more indicative of the level of "respect" a team is getting, is the the betting line (Vegas). SF would actually be favored on a neutral field. There is zero disrespect in that line. In fact, quite the opposite.

To be fair, I don't give too much credence to the Dallas and NO games as 1. Hurts didn't play and 2. Gannon's defensive calls were about as vanilla as possible, IMO so as to not put much on tape expecting to possibly play Dallas.
The Washington game we legitimately played awful and had 4 turnovers, including three lost fumbles. We also had a number of injuries on D-line and had not yet signed Suh and Joseph. Their addition two days after that loss shored up our run defense big time. Rbs faced after that game:

Derrick Henry-30 yards
Saquon Barkley-28 yards the first time we played them, 61 yards last week.

I think they definitely can win - it's more likely than their victory over GB was last year, for example. But I'm definitely more relaxed as a fan this week because Philly will probably win and there's no shame in losing on the road to that squad. Losing to Dallas or Seattle at home the last couple weeks, that would have been a different story.

In my true rational thinking things have to go pretty badly for the Eagles to lose - INT return for TD, KR TD etc...but SF has a chance

We played the NFCC last year, I’m not excited to just be here, they need to win. This team is much better than last year’s team, imo. If it wasn’t for a monsoon week 1, this game would be played in SF. Weather in Philly is like 50 with clouds and maybe rain, might as well be in the bay.
Purdy is a 4 year collegiate starter and seems to be about as poised a player as we could hope for. Our offense can score with anyone, Shanny just got super conservative last week.

I don't know why you guys are trying so hard to convince yourselves that people are counting you out of this game. I thought that was just bush-league coach motivational schtick. You're on a 12-game winning streak and are only like 2 pt dogs on the road. The Eagles have lost 2 of their last 3. This isn't the miracle on ice or anything, either team has a great shot of winning this game, try to relax and enjoy it.
