I am not sold on the reason why he threw picks based on he being concussed because Brian Griese didn't see anything wrong with him, and Purdy even did the post game presser, where he didn't show any signs then either (and one podcast guy mentioned that when concussed, people are very sensitive to light, and also pointed out that Purdy potential INT the game prior that were similar throws to the ones where they were picked the next weekPurdy didn't enter the tent all game long, If he felt woozy after the hit, he should had let the coaching staff know. But he showed no signs of it in his play. Not enough to enter the tent.

Concussion signs can be delayed to where you don't even realize youre concussed, but the brain injury is still there. A person can show zero signs, or be 0% aware that he had been concussed, all while having a concussion. So the brain can be injured while the individual doesn't even know it. I believe this is what may have happened to Purdy.

The symptoms of a severe concussion are immediate – dizziness, blurred vision, memory loss or even loss of consciousness, but for a mild concussion that doesn't involve being knocked out, symptoms may not seem obvious until days later.

UQ neurologist Professor Michael O’Sullivan explains that part of the problem is that initial symptoms of a concussion – such as memory problems – can sometimes be quite subtle, and aren’t noticed until they become more pronounced.

Every concussion is different, she says. The location and force of some impacts are more likely to cause immediate loss of consciousness or vision problems, and these are hard to miss.

"But It might be that the concussion or impact happened in an area that took a long time to cause further damage," she says. In this case, the associated symptoms, such as headaches and ability to multitask, may take a little longer to become apparent.

She also points out that even if a concussion doesn’t have any initial symptoms, it doesn’t mean the brain hasn’t been damaged.

It was so delayed that he was at full practice within four days after telling the coaching staff her was feeling woozy on the plane flight home. Not during the game. On the flight home.

He may be cleared to play by Sunday. That might mean it wasn't a concussion after all, they just had to put him in protocol because of league rules.

Edit: of people need to use that as an excuse, fine. Most people don't. But the stat line over the past two games are Purdy is 2 TDs to 3 INTs, without game winning drives. Is it unfair to put that on Purdy because of the kicker? Maybe, but it's also unfair to say that wins are a QB stat as well, especially when they are behind in close games in the 4th quarter against teams because they created a turnover in the same game.

Yeah, I think it was either a mild concussion, or not an actual concussion, but prob had to go thru the protocol to be safe. The NFL isn't messing around with that any more after the Tua mess.

Over Andy Reid even? The guy who BEAT Shanahan in the Super Bowl and won another one since then?

All Time, yes I think you have to go Belichick just for all the rings. But Reid way up there.

And for sure, I think Reid is my #1 guy right I'd pick going forward in a Head Coach Power Ranking.
I think what hurts BB the coach, is BB the GM. I’m sure Reid has some say in player evaluation, but he does have a GM.

In fact, when Reid became the de facto GM in Philly, that’s when it started going south for him.

I wonder why we haven't seen much of rookie safety Ji'Ayir Brown yet. There was talk of 3 safety looks with him in the mix during camp, but so far he's just been on special teams.

Curious to see what the kids got.

If all goes as expected, #49ers QB Brock Purdy will receive clearance later today and start tomorrow vs. the Bengals.

Not for nothing, but maybe they roll with Darnold after Purdy's lousy last two games. Not really a stretch to say that CMC has been pedestrian, for his standards, when Purdy started playing like crap.
He hasn't been lousy, and he's already been named the starter vs The Bengals.

These are pretty bad FF games. Both losses. QBRs of 38.1 vs. CLE and 63.3 vs. MIN. QBR average for this season is 75.7.

Previous five QBRs are 82.9, 96.8, 64.1, 77.4 and 84.1. So, yeah, he has played lousy.

I dont care about FF, I live in the real world. He's been in position to win the last 2 games. Kicker missed one, and his concussion caused a slide where he threw 2 picks late.

Enjoy watching him play Sunday.

This has John Lynch written all over it:

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Washington Commanders are ‘anticipated’ to trade either Montez Sweat or Chase Young by Tuesday’s trade deadline.

Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report echoed the sentiment but added that the Commanders are looking for at least a second round pick for either pass rusher.

Nicki Jhabvala of the Washington Report said earlier this week that the Commanders had received an offer for Sweat but no offer for Chase Young as of yet.

Both are free agents next year. Hate to see them give a 2nd rounder, even a late one for a one season rental.

Worth it if we win a SB.

It’d be a desperation move.

Like Emmanuel Sanders in 2019?

Just sayin. They've spent for rentals before, so I wouldn't be surprised.

But they had a huge WR need in 2019. Never bad to have more edge players, but they just picked up Gregory and have Jackson. Sweat does have 5 1/2 sacks this year

A second rounder is steep and the salaries of those two guys are high enough to screw their cap situation up.

If he was legit concussed, then he probably shouldn't be playing tomorrow though, right?

He cleared protocol so I have no issue with it.

I'd rather they sit him this week, but I don't make those decisions.

Worth it if we win a SB. It's risky.
I’d trade a 2nd round pick for a SB.

Akash:

Salary-cap wise, the #49ers have the most expensive defense this season already and they’re still looking to add an EDGE / CB.

It’s less talked about because they’ve won so much, but this is where having those three first-round picks to bolster a roster would’ve been helpful.

QBRs of 38.1 vs. CLE and 63.3 vs. MIN. QBR average for this season is 75.7.

Where does that 75.7 season average QBR rank among all QBs?
3rd behind Mahomes and Allen.

His last two games puts him slightly above Zack Wilson (37.1) and tied with Lamar Jackson (63.3).

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. For the season, Purdy is a top 3 QB in QBR.

Will be interesting to see how he does today.

I have no confidence that they’ll make a stop against Cincinnati today and I don’t remember the last time I felt like that. Offense is going to have to match them blow for blow.

I own Joe Mixon in fantasy, otherwise I wouldn’t know much here. He hasn’t had a game over 14 points all season, he averages like negative 8 yards a carry. He has 3/37 already, ridiculous!

There's gotta be someone on staff that knows the defense and how to use the personnel they have.

Fire Wilks after this game and you have 2 weeks for the new guy to get to work.
