SEA: Quietest 9-1 team in history? (1 Viewer)

I'm genuinely interested in hearing what non-homers think of the Seahawks.

9-1 should speak for itself, but I'm pretty sure most will be quick to point out that they were down 21-0 early AT HOME to the winless Bucs sans Doug Martin. And I feel like out of spite fans root against Richard Sherman, the Seattle secondary, and the Seahawks defense as a whole, but I could be wrong. Simply fill in the blank:

I'd rather my team play the Seahawks than (blank) in the playoffs/superbowl.

Complete frauds. They've beaten a bunch of garbage and lost to the one decent team they faced. They'll be one of the easiest outs in the playoffs.

Dang good team. And the are the kind of team that does well in the playoffs. Plays defense and can run the ball.

And if the road to the Bowl goes through Seattle, if they have HFA, they'll be tough to beat.

I like the team a lot, even Sherman. I've found I enjoy them a lot more since I stopped reading any thread (well, aside from this one :bowtie: ) in the Shark Pool about their team, or reading anything by Seattle fans here.

It used to be just one incredible troll, but he's been joined by a few other incredibly obnoxious tools.

There is truth to this, but the season opening @ Carolina win is looking more and more impressive, and they did trounce SF (albeit at home). Of course, those are the kinds of things a relatively unproven team would point to. There really is no excuse for allowing Zac Stacy and Mike James to run all over them.

Really hope I'm not coming off as such. I moved to Seattle 5 years ago from a non-football town so rooting for a team, much less a a seemingly successful team, is new to me. I know the record is great, but that Wilson, Lynch, and Sherman aren't the names that strike fear into others the way Manning/Rodgers/the Patriots do.

I'd say I'm cautiously opptimistic about their chances to go all the way but then I can sympathize with the real lifelong Seattle homers who have been dying for something to cling to given the Sonics being stolen and the Mariners ineptitude, I honestly don't blame them for getting their shots in while they can. It's no secret this team is full of over-achieving rookie contracts and though they're very young, the time really is now or never as I don't see a way they fit Wilson, Sherman, Wagner, and Harvin under one cap when they're due to re-sign.

How can they be quiet when many people predicted they'd be a Super Bowl contender prior to the season?
For whatever reason they were less than a TD favorite against the 2-6 Falcons. What do you think the line would be if the Broncos went to Atlanta? 13 at least?

So...is this going to just turn into another SEA circlejerk about how they don't get the credit/respect they deserve?

As a daily listener of sports talk radio and working alongside lifelong Seattle fans I *think* I already have a decent idea what the homers think.. they're excited as hell and hate Darrell Bevell

I honestly don't see anyone beating them when they're at home this season, Especially once they get Harvin and another player or two back(not saying it's impossible for them to lose at home since it's not, but if they finish 1st I personally see them going to the SB).

What does that have to do with them being 9-1 and doing what many expected them to do? Or is this where Seahawks fan whine they think they aren't getting enough respect?

I'd hope not. We all know that respect is earned come playoff time and as far as Seattle is concerned future playoff success is speculation or "excited homerism" up to this point.

We haven't seen Seattle's best yet. Their starting offensive tackles have been out most of the year and will be returning soon. Their starting center missed most of last week and this week with a concussion. Harvin has yet to play a down. They'll be peaking going into the playoffs.

Where did this come from?
And the same guy just posted this....

His posts seem conflicting to me. I don't know why that would make mine off-base.

Right. Imo respect or fear or whatever is earned in the playoffs and the Seahawks don't have the resume, so I'm curious to know what others think.

I think they're a good team, no doubt, but that the defense isn't as unbreakable as it's sometimes heralded to be, and that they can be a completely different team on the road. When the stars align though, they can beat anyone in the league and make it look easy. I think Harvin coming back should have a large impact on the overall offense. That all being said, like I said in response to the OP's original question, I'd still rather my team play the Seahawks than the Broncos or 49ers in the playoffs/SB.

Seattle? Quiet?

There fans here are loud. Their players are loud. Every week there is a new thread here proclaiming how they are the greatest team in history.

Quiet? NO

C'mon, now, that isn't the case at all, as a search by thread title shows. There's a lot of pushback against ITS, but there are a lot of good Seahawks fans on this board.

What other Seahawks fans are widely disliked here? ITS is in everyone's head which is hilarious, but what other Seahawks fans are obnoxious?

If someone wants to list them and show their work, I'd like to see what we can come up with.

They are a quality team. They have a good, physical defense. Their running game is great and their qb seems to be able to perform in clutch situations. What is their glaring weakness?

Good, not great.

A few glaring flaws that will keep them from winning it all, but a good little squad to root for.
What are the few glaring flaws, and what teams in the NFC can exploit them? Keep in mind they will have both their starting tackles back within the next three weeks. :coffee:

They can be ran against (see Rams).

This league changes fast but Broncos and Panthers are scarier, imo. Throw in the Packers too if they were healthy.

I'm starting to think the biggest threat to Seattle in the NFCmight be the Panthers. That would be a great rematch.
I think if the season ended today, the top 2 teams in the NFC would be the Panthers and Seahawks. Still a lot of season left though.

Their defense is the truth. Their running game is the truth.

Their QB is the truth.

Contender......no doubt about it.

9-1 in the NFL.....is an awesome record.

If anything KC will come down to earth soon.

But the Seahawks showed last year.....they are a very good football team. And they are doing it again.

You might not have to worry about that. ;)

You don't understand this emoticon: ;)

I think that might be more obnoxious than my post. :bye:

Nope--the saints are still # 2
Saints are a good team. If they can run like they have tonight, they are almost unbeatable.
We will find out how good they are soon enough. 4 out of the next 5 weeks they play the niners, Seahawks and Panthers twice. Sprinkled in between they play the team that just destroyed a solid Colts team.
