Serious Business Dynasty League (1 Viewer)

I didn't forget you guys. Someone message me tomorrow when I'm awake and i'll square everything up...Any more commitments for next year?

In ... I don't know how to quit you. PS- Complete rebuild going on here. Come get Pujols, Kinsler, Halladay, Cueto, Teixeira, etc. Looking for guys aged 22-26.

 Clifton says he's in via Facebook. The band is back together again. Thanks to those who inquired about openings but stability is a good thing in dynasty.I'll post off-season rosters in the thread in case CBS dorks them up. If anybody wants to do anything different than the semi-traditional one round preseason add/drop draft in reverse standings order, I'm open to better ideas. Anything involving waivers is limited by what CBS' system allows.

Let's figure out the 2013 money situation now. We can decide on whether to have a one round draft or some kind of waivers clusterjerk sometime after March 1st. I know NV is going on vacation and a number of people have been pretty scarce around here during the off-season.

Your the boss. I can pay for the website tonight if needed. Just lay down some law and Isecond it.

CBS would be a ripoff at half the price but I don't know of any other sites that support our format. Suggestions are welcome. We should take the CBS overhead out of league dues so PIK isn't out of pocket on these.I'd open discussion at $50 + a share of the CBS fees. We dropped it down $10 to retain people a few years ago and gave first year discounts to new owners. With everybody coming back this year, it's time to boost the pot.

CBS sucks. I am 100% in favor of moving to a free host if possible. ESPN work for dynasty? I know it works fine for keepers.

There was a thread in here that touted onroto.com. Anybody have any experience with them?Since we effectively freeze rosters over the off-season, I don't think keepers are a showstopper. The bigger problems are to find a site that can accommodate 37 man rosters and managing placeholders for prospects not in the database.Yahoo maxes out at 30 man rosters but ESPN can handle our roster requirements. I set up a test league in ESPN and invited all returning owners via email.I haven't been in an ESPN bases league for years. Accolades and horror stories are invited.

Probably one of my better and worst moves all in one.01/22/09 11:46 am ET RnR Hanson, Tommy SP ATL - Added Hill, Aaron 2B TOR - Dropped

I realize every closer and near-closer has passed through my clubhouse but I honestly don't recall having Craig Kimbrel from 5/19/10-5/28/10.I shrewdly dropped Saul Rivera  to pick Kimbrel up only to drop him when Carlos Villanueva was spotted getting up to buy a bratwurst during the top of the 9th at Miller Park

Is trading open now? And does PIK still have our money ;)
I paid everyone, no? Let me know if your serious. I'm ready for some trades too.
I don't think I was paid, just double checked paypal, that's how you would have sent it, right?
Yeah, same here. There was some discussion in my e-mail but I have no record of receiving money in PayPal.It was only $80, so if we end up doing $50 + site fees I'd be ok with just rolling me in for this year.

This is gonna go down as the worst trade in the history of the league. Like Bagwell for Andersen or Smoltz for Alexander.

You finished in the money in 2011 and 2012 :shrug:I'm really curious whether the Hoos/Boub strategy of punting the present will ever pay off. Boubucarow is pretty much totally committed to youth but he needs guys like Hosmer, Ackley and Smoak to right their ships in the near term. If you want to field a contender, you can't devote your entire bench to prospects.

Pretty much. I just knew that after the first few rounds of the new team draft that I couldn't come close to contending. I do need Hosmer/Myers/Smoak/Singleton/Gyorko to give me three quality hitters at CI/DH, one of Wong/Franklin/Ackley at MI, and hope Machado blossoms early at 3B to put more than a dent into the offensive standings this year and next. The pitching could take a bit longer with their unpredictable nature as prospects but all of them have pitched in the majors or are on the doorstep. Taillon is the farthest away and he should be up next year some time. When my team begins to come into focus I will have to shed prospects to build insurance into my roster. Then I will have to find that balance between win now and building for the future.

Slow afternoon so I tallied the players who've been involved in the most transactions since 2008. Adds, drops and trades each count as a separate transaction and some trades might get double counted. There might also be some extra entries if players were involved in preseason drafts. These guys are officially replacement level, having been involved in ten or more individual transactions since the start of the league16 Scott Downs15 Grant Balfour, Cody Ross, AJ Pierzynski14 Scott Hairston, Kila Ka'aihue, Jon Rauch, Ty Wigginton, Randy Wolf13 Carlos Gomez, Jonathan Lucroy, Brandon Lyon, Wilson Ramos12 Mark Ellis, Alex Gonzalez, Hong Chih Kuo11 Jhoulys Chacin, Bill Hall, Ramon Hernandez, Wilton Lopez, Fernando Rodney, Carlos Ruiz, Eugenio Velez10 Clint Barmes, Octavio Dotel, Jake Fox, JA Happ, LaTroy Hawkins, Todd Helton, Nick Hundley, Kevin Jepsen, Edwin Mujica, Daniel Murphy, David Murphy, Joel Peralta, Aaron Rowand, Eric Thames, Koji Uehara, Will Venable

CBS site is locked to non-paying customers so active rosters have been posted in this Google Doc. I'll load the teams to the ESPN league unless somebody has a better idea.

We'll sort out payments next week. In previous years, we've done a 1-2 round pre-season add/drop draft in order of last years finish. That's the tentative plan but again I'm open to better ideas.
