Why do you think it is that everyone wants to punch Sherman in the face? Anytime in my life that I knew of someone who got that reaction from people, it's been because the guy was a real asswhole. That's not a normal reaction that people should have. At what point will you finally get it?

Sherman was being a real ### after the game when he was asking how the injured 49er players were doing and then he had the nerve to ask one of the 49er players to tell Bowman he hopes he has a speedy recovery. What an ###!People don't seem to understand Sherman has a switch and he's different on the field than he is off the field. The smack talk is part of his game. The Crabtree thing he took a little far because of their history off the field, but he later apologized. That should be end of story but I guess Sherman is the only person in the entire world to ever make a mistake.

Especially considering the Hawks are healthy now and were not in the preseason game. Im going to enjoy seeing Avril strip sack Peyton and the CBs playin press/disturbing Mannings timing. Everything the Hawks do is exactly what Manning hates.

Fast forward to the NFC title game where they are trash talking the entire game and Sherman makes a play that likely ends the game. Sherman sprints across the endzone to catch up to Crabtree to slap him on the ### and congratulate him. Now we are to believe that **** was being sincere and not trying to rub salt in the wound? I wonder why the official flagged Sherman for taunting if he was just trying to tell an opponent "helluva game"?

Might have also had something to do with the choke gesture he was giving to Kaepernick. Yeah, Sherman is a classy guy. A lot to like about him.

Yes and no. The conditions will impact the Seattle passing game too allowing the Den D to focus more on the run.

Even in poor weather the Denver passing game is still far superior to the Sea passing game so the impact should remain relatively equal.

The Denver D also shut down the New England rushing game (129 YPG & 4.4 YPA to Seattle's 137 YPG & 4.3 YPA) and the weather was not helping them out.

We are also not certain that the weather will be bad at all, cold certainly but we don't know if there will be rain, winds or snow.

And ultimately this is the team that Denver chose to build (knowing that the weather in Denver can also be kind of, y'know, horrible) and they need to sink or swim with it.

Yes,he did. And we are not disagreeing. Sherman, in my estimation, is no thug and the word does connote contemporary code as a subtle racial slur. We concur. My point is he shifted the focus from his unfortunate emotional outburst in the heat of the moment to some separate issue earning potential exoneration by citing his critics as racist ("thug"). It was a predictable strategy; the critics are in the wrong and don't know the real him. But his actions in this mess and a few prior instances qualify him as punk-like and arrogant ("I'm the best corner in the game."). How often is irrelevant---that is true. To some extent, his attitude comes with the territory of the role he plays in the defense.

I think there's something wrong with him, and I'm being serious. Just let him be. Most everything he says seems to be wrong if it's about other teams, and then it's extreme hyperbole if it's about his team.

Thankfully, I've found a lot of knowledgable guys in the Seattle thread who give some good insight to their side of the fence. It more than balances out whatever is going in with this guy (or gal).

Yeah, you have a point, Big. Let me explain, though. I enjoy reading the forums over all, and though I don't respond to many of his posts, I do enjoy the silly banter that goes back and forth between him and some others many times.

It's kind of like watching the dude out on the basketball court during a pick-up game who obviously thinks he's way better than he actually is, and he's talking smack to everyone, fouling, shooting up bricks. When that guy gets dunked on hard - it's one of the most enjoyable things to watch.

This is a great point and absolutely correct.

I, like you, think it's silly to think someone is a "thug" or "punk" for a heated rant minutes after a huge play in the biggest game of his life.

Yet, he created a shield with the "race card". After the deflection the target was moved a bit. It was a great move. Did he do it on purpose? Did he accidentally do it and he only brought it up because the word really bothered him? Or both? Sherman being a smart man, I tend to think he knew exactly what he was doing.

Considering the entire issue was being overblown, I think it was a slick move to put the onus back on the attacker - the media. The media rushed in, like it normally does, without thinking it through, and Sherman hit them with a parry that set them on their heels a bit.

The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Agreed...the reaction by some is getting worse than the comments he made in the first place. Though, he also stirred it up a bit adding the race part to it later. (though, I have no doubt he saw idiotic messages to him after the comments that were probably quite racist).

The idea that Sherman added race to the discussion is a little silly. I'd say the racist jerks calling him the n word, monkey, gorilla and others were responsible for adding race to the discussion. Sherman just brought it up, and for some reason a lot of people don't want to hear about it (or want to blame the discussion on Sherman.)

Because Sherman is hard to like, unless you are a Seahawk fan.

He is one of the (if not THE) best cornerbacks in the game, but his attitude is not generally appreciated. TO was the best (or one of the best) WRs in the game for many years, yet many people detested him. Most people like our stars to be humble & gracious in victory, not shout "I'm the best, don't try to test me!" Even if it is true, or at least arguable.

So when he tries to defend himself, or shift the attention (whichever you feel he is doing), he gets the blame. It's the nature of the role he's playing (and I do think it's a role, because he seems to be very intelligent; intelligent enough to know that this kind of attitude/behavior is not generally well-received).

I don't think Sherman made it a race issue. All the people criticizing him did that all on their own, and he just happened to point it out. Is he wrong for doing so?

I have seen guys play the race card and try to act like the victim. This...............is not one of those cases. It's not like he is saying that people are all over his case for what he did because he is black. He is simply referring to the comments made about him afterwards.
