sick of being sick (1 Viewer)

Flonase was a game changer for me. I used to take (still do) Zyrtec every day, but once I added Flonase to my routine too, I basically stopped with the seasonal sickness.

does anyone take vitamins and what is your mix anything else like that i hear you on the masks etc take that to the bank brochachos
I take airborne. I spit a lot, several times every hour. I take steamy showers, blow my nose in the shower and get every bit of mucus out that I can.
I also take airborne daily in the morning, I started this during Covid and haven't stopped. Seems to do a good job for me.
I use Emergen-C, but same concept.

The freezing temps this week will release the cedar trees' pollen here in Central Texas. Called cedar fever, many people get allergy symptoms so bad they can't make a trip to the bank.

I have used Flonase in the past and also CoQ10,Quercetin,Vit E and Vit C which were suggested by the local "Y" for allergies as anti inflammatory.

Mr R is really looking forward to this. No allergies in winter my fundament.

So I was full-on sick about a month and a half ago. I think I picked up some bug from our C-suite who were all sick post-international travel. The bug itself wasn't horrible and cleared on its own...but...ever since then, I've had a very very mild amount of congestion in just my left nostril. I can breathe generally, but every 20 minutes or so, air flow becomes somewhat restricted, and I can "feel" congestion in my nose. I blow my nose, and next to nothing results. If I get anything, it's clear and thin, and I can breathe again until it comes back a bit later. I'm so confident in the fact that my nose blows won't be productive that when I was outside doing some yard work this weekend, I just blew with no tissue or anything. I've never had anything like this before. It's getting really annoying though because I have to constantly do it. No other issues - just this one dang annoying nostril.

How much are you willing to do to not get sick 'all the time'? There are measures you can do to avoid getting sick, or if you do get sick lessen the severity and duration significantly.

Do you smoke? You have to stop if you want this to have any chance of succeeding. If you drink, stop the second you think you might be sick. Or stop drinking altogether.

Eat clean. No processed foods whatsoever. Avoid the 3 white devils: Sugar, Salt, processed flour. LOTS of cruciferous veggies(Kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts, etc.) every day. Also, beans, nuts and seeds.

Does your home have an air filtration system? Change those filters a couple of weeks before they recommend. Also, most cars have 'cabin air filters'. Change that too. Very easy to do. Youtube is your friend.

That’s a good start. But you left out arguably the most important component of health: regular exercise. 30-60 minutes of moderate intensity exercise every day.

And I’d add saturated fat to your “white devils”.

Yes to all of what Terminalxylem said.

Also, you have got to find a way to defeat stress in your life. Stress destroys the immune system.

Oh, and get good sleep!

Was going to mention these two also. But, unfortunately I think there’s a big genetics and immune system component that many can’t overcome

My kids are now in high school and Jr high......used to get sick quite a bit when they were snot nosed kids touching everything. Now, hardly ever get sick.

Hard to say what is causing you to get sick though

Dude, go see an ENT. That's just weird.

COVID taught me that masking wasn't so bad and worth the effort. I always mask up on planes and at airports now and other one off places that are REALLY crowded.

Some people oddly take offense to the fact that I mask up still, but whatever. Being sick only twice since 2019 is worth every minute I have a mask on.
