SMU student blogging for enhancement (2 Viewers)

This thread is fascinating. I don't know how I missed it the first time around.

So the augmentlauren character here was probably either Trey or Will, huh? You guys were talking to a dude.
 She's confirmed. When her blog first when up, several FFAers were immediately on the case. Some of us talker her up via AIM and Myspace. Several FFAers also met her in person for a cornhole in Texas.

This thing had disappeared for many months. I only this weekend found the story about her being outed as a hoax. It's not that she isn't real, it's just that she apparently wasn't doing it for boob job money -- but as part of some business enterprise.

:bag:
I read through some of the ucfk (or whatever it's called) thread last night. There's no evidence that it wasn't for boob job money. The stuff she lied about is that (a) she does have a boyfriend, (b) she collected more than $135, and [c] Trey is not her brother.Whether it was for a boob job or something else is unknown, but her friend Trey said in a blog comment that it wasn't a fraud. To me, that means he's saying that it was for a boob job. (Whether we can trust him about that is another matter, since his name was on the account the money was being sent to.) Anyway, it seems like Trey and Will are quite well off financially, so she probably wasn't raising money for them. It was probably for her, would be my guess.
So maybe she's legit after all? But then why take down the site, your blog, myspace page, and every other trade of "augment lauren" on the web?
Depends on what counts as legit. She was definitely lying all over the place. I just haven't seen any evidence that she was lying about raising the money for a business enterprise rather than for a boob job or other personal use.

And if she was is that such a big deal? When those guys went all FBI and #### on her it was a little overboard.

Then they dug deeper and found out she never went to SMU, something that I was very suspicious of, and was older than she said and probably never had any intention of getting an operation (info from deleted myspace chat).
The deleted myspace message from her (left on Trey's myspace page and subsequently deleted) was something like "he went public with his buttocks and made 7 million (lauren has an idea)." Was there something else besides that?

Nothing that I've seen.

Ok, now this all adds up. Those that witnessed my interrogation can back me up on this.I grew up in Fort Worth and know all the rich kids social paths and college paths. She claimed A) She lived in Dallas all her life and went to public high school in Dallas, but I can't recall which one.B) She went to SMU and didn't pledge a sorority despite being white, good looking, and having friends. C) SMU costs ridiculous sums of money in tuition and fees and really for the most part only preppy kids that made Bs and Cs in private schools would ever go there. D) Claimed her parents lived in the upper Hillcrest area which is mostly 250-300k homes and she lived with them until just recently. Again people with 1/4 mil homes don't put their kids through SMU. So basically I concluded that either A) she had plenty of money and this was just an attention whore move or B) the whole SMU thing was a sham to begin with. Never though both of those would come true. The real giggles come from the pics she took at SMU games wearing SMU gear. What a loser.
your theories are riddled with errors.

 This is a leap. None of it was proven... mostly just theory based on that guy being her brother and then doing search for her name + his last name. None of this is confirmed.

I wanted to dig a little deeper but 3 dudes were trying out all their game on the poor girl.

The not going to SMU thing is proven. If she went there it wasn't 4 years and had been out of college for some time as of last year. It's more likely that she was taking some sort of continuing ed through her employer than anything.

link?I thought they proved it based on a theory of figuring out her last name?

The real giggles come from the pics she took at SMU games wearing SMU gear. What a loser.
This is my point. No one would go that out of their way to take photos related to SMU. The ones playing tennis are playing tennis at the SMU tennis courts. Her apartment looked like the ones on campus right next to the tennis courts.Too much SMU stuff in there for me to believe she fabricated the going to SMU stuff.

Anybody can play on those courts. And anybody can wear an SMU shirt to a football game. They got the aparment floor plan nailed down exactly to what apartment she lived in down to the appliances, her apartment number, and her phone number. Why she faked that part is up for debate. Probably didn't want to lose her teaching job so she created an alias to do this thing with. She wanted some amount of anonymity. When she lost that she pulled out of all her other accounts, but it was too late.

Read their thread from pages 40ish to 110 ish. It's like 15 posts per page. After that they just talk tough about going to the FBI and are jerking eachother off for how smart they are.

If this was all bs, it's even more surprising that she cornholed. Lying online is easy... in person can be a little tougher.

Making up the whole SMU angle seems like more trouble then it's worth. I thought it was a given that the majority of her blog was fiction though. :goodposting:

You showed her your babyarm, didn't you..

what a shot.. Doughboy, Mac, Stu, Troly and Culdeus.. were all witness to this chick.. you guys gotta chime back in here
What do you want to know?Basically seemed like your average ~22 year-old chick. In retrospect she did come across as a little more mature than most college girls, but I didn't really think much of it at the time. I was pretty buzzed though...

...D) Claimed her parents lived in the upper Hillcrest area which is mostly 250-300k homes and she lived with them until just recently. Again people with 1/4 mil homes don't put their kids through SMU. ...
What college would they send their kids?
This confused me too... Are you saying that her parents couldn't afford SMU, or that people who grow up in houses in the 250-300k range send their kids to nicer schools?

She did state in this thread that she was on scholarship.

He was saying they couldn't afford SMU. I'm not sure about that. I've got a buddy whose parents are dirt farmers that went to SMU. Of course, he got his MBA at age 20 so he wasn't paying for it.

Agree. They give us here in the FFA a standard to live up to.
I hate that some FBGs got scammed(?) out of money, but I love how we're ahead of the curve on everything that's cool and pop-culture.
I don't think anybody can really claim they got scammed. She sold pictures and lied maybe lied about where the money would go. I completely understand why she wouldn't want any aspects of her real identity out there. If she is a teacher, it can't be good for her plue there are a lot of creeps in the world

That whole lying about where the money is going is where the fraud part comes in. That's a scam. Now, it's a little silly to call the police when someone puts money into an entrepreneurial enterprise instead of breasts, but it's still fraud.

Good God, that thread's over 100 pages long. Anyone got the Cliff's Notes?
well lauren returns at page 52, and from there things get rollingjonesy paypals her a dollar as proof he'll give her $100 pending a topless pic. he reports back that the name on the account he sent it to was Trey Ratcliff. trey's website is then found, his myspace, and eventually her myspace, which is different than the one she gives to the augmentlauren site, and it says she is a college graduate, not an smu student, and, instead of being single, in a relationship with a guy named will, whom we had seen with her in pictures on trey's site. we then see on trey's myspace that lauren posted a message saying "he went public with his buttocks and made 7 million (lauren has an idea)", presumably indicating this is where the scheme originated. her "secret" myspace is quickly made private/deleted, and her message on trey's myspace is erased. she then posts saying trey is her brother. from that we search "lauren ratcliff" which turns out to be the name of a third grade teacher in the area who went to (edit: southwest texas state university, not smu) and attended high school in plano like laura's "secret" myspace account says she did (edit: upon further examination probably not the same lauren). a texas tech math tutor also bears the same name, but no confirmation there either. later, ufcker dpu2002 tries to post a comment on her blog and is said to be "awaiting review" or something. additionally, someone named "Trey" posts a comment on her blog saying he can't deal with being a part of the fraud anymore and the comment is taken down, though the legitimacy of that is in question.

i'm sure i missed some stuff or ####ed up along the way so feel free to correct me.

edit2: i think, thanks to cash, we can basically conclude (as shane said) that trey is not her brother, she simply said that so it seemed like she was keeping the money in the family. as shown in the myspace message, trey is probably the guy who set up the blog with her, and lauren was helping he and her boyfriend will raise cash to get the john galt gaming company off the ground.
