Snowmageddon 2022 (1 Viewer)

Luckily my work closed today.  I drove home in the last storm and it was not fun.

It's starting to pick up here.  SNJ

We are a couple of hours into this snow less "Snow Day."  My son is binging Fortnight, and my daughter and her friends are into a Roadblocks session. My wife just headed to the mall.

I have been reduced to maid service for the day.  Snow days kinda suxor now.

Not too bad here in SE PA yet, but after a 3 hour drive home that usually takes 25 minutes a few weeks ago, I left work at 12:30 yesterday..  I am done ####### around trying to find back roads through Maps that almost totally ####ed me up.

it is hard to measure because of how warm the ground was when this all started yesterday, but it looks like we are at about 7" and counting here... supposed to be coming down at the rate of an inch an hour for most of the day too.  Stupid Smarch weather.

I apologize if this thread was for one geographical region in particular but in case you're interested, here are the March snowfall totals from a resort in the Sierra Nevadas:

Mar 1

15.0

Mar 2

15.0

Mar 3

17.0

Mar 4

2.0

Mar 14

8.0

Mar 15

7.0

Mar 16

12.0

Mar 17

11.0

Mar 21

8.0

Yeah, 95 inches so far and they are about to get slammed with another 4 feet, easy.  150 inches in March.

Central NJ here - been snowing since 730AM.  Not much accumulation yet.

Work from home today and possibly tomorrow depending if I get plowed in as I would expect them to do late this evening (one downside to living on a cul-de-sac - last to get plowed).

the snow lightened for a bit, but has apparently bagged a second wind - heavy and yuuuuge flakes pouring down as we hit the afternoon here.

So this Florida boy is in dc for a few days and it’s snowing bad. I have a flight at 6 pm tomorrow. I know the snow will stop tonight, but is it likely the delays/cancellations will affect my flight tomorrow night?

Nah, if it was two feet, yes, but the airlines up here are real good at getting back to business.

Meanwhile less than 10 miles east of Queens, we have nothing. Maybe an inch, inch and a half on the ground.

have about 5 inches or so in north nj.  if its supposed to be worse later i am thinking we will be around 15 inches or so when all is done.  sigh.

That flake I saw at 11am was a false alarm.  Coming up on the end of the canceled school day and nothing.  I may have even seen the sun peeking through a few minutes ago.  WTF is going on here?

if ours is heading up to yours then you won't be disappointed

Yeah, I mocked the last storm  at lunch time and ended up with over a foot by the time everything was done. But its 3:30 this time and still little more than a dusting. There's maybe an inch or 2 on top of the cars but nothing is sticking on the road. They made the decision to close our office at 6 AM, so I "worked from home" today so I'm certainly not complaining.

By 6 tomorrow you should be fine. The tougher spot is if you had a flight today that was cancelled, and everyone rushes to book what's left for tomorrow and that could mean you have to wait another day and sometimes more depending on how bad the storm is and how many flights to your destination.

That was one of the reasons I cancelled my trip east.. couldn't afford to have my wed flight cancelled and miss Thursday at least, and possibly longer

Thanks guys. Was going to get a room for tomorrow but I’ll just play it out.

I’m Cabo right now having a drink waiting for my room to be ready. Good job by the whole ####### state cancelling school last night.
I'm curious to see if they cancel for tomorrow.  I'm afraid to ask, but what is the temperature there right now anyway?

6:00 PM GFS only shows another 3 inches for the NY metro area. Shouldn't be enough to cause major hassles with the morning commute.

It takes some serious stones to show up in this thread with that kinda bull####.

May you be struck with a mild sunburn as punishment.
Two weeks ago marked 16 years since I have seen even a single flake of snow. Even when I've traveled to NJ, PA, NY, UT in winter, it won't snow. No residual snow on the ground, nothing. I almost wish I was up there for a day. But just a day.

Stay safe, everyone.

So that last big storm was your fault?!??

Still seeing pavement and flurries.  This was the worst forecast I have seen here in a LONG time.  Searles is catching heat!

Pretty quiet out here in Central NJ, but still coming down.  Took care of about 5 inches with the snowblower lightning quick, turned around and the driveway was already coated up again.

They closed nyc schools today and roads were fine all day. should've closed them tomorrow. Still snowing. Roads are still gonna be messy.

Long Island totally dumped on overnight. Must be 12-18 out there. PIA just clearing off one of the cars and shoveling the steps.

Love how yesterday they closed schools without a flake in the sky, almost 2 feet on the ground gets us a two hour delay. Oof.

My LIRR line running ok it seems, so I guess it’s off to work.

Yes.  0 inches total in RI after 8-12 prediction.
THURSDAY

Snow. Some thunder is also possible. High near 30. Very windy, with a south wind 45 to 55 mph, with gusts as high as 80 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 24 to 30 inches possible.
