Although the Spring Equinox is tomorrow, this winter is like a toddler sprawled out in the middle of the cereal aisle - screaming, implacable, and immovable.
Why a whole pound's worth?Otis said:2-4 coming to NY. FU winter.
You do realize the storm is just getting ready to start, right?Essentially nothing here west of Baltimore. I was right!

Otis tuna and apples fart? There's like a force field around the NYC metro area that is repelling the snow. I think it's about to break through though...
I called it in and told work I was working from home...and not a flake had fallen. Now...still not a flake has fallen, but the kid is in daycare and the wife is out running errands and going to the gym. First time I've had a quiet house to myself in a while.Huh, after calling a 2 hour delay at some point early this morning, the local schools closed their minds and wound up closing for the day. Which is a real shame, because of how last minute it was I have to stay home today... near my TV... and all that fun basketball.![]()

Enjoy your wildfires and dehydration.77degrees in L.A. this weekend. If it gets bad we may get a cloud or two.
Yeah, this damn cold streak had it at 50 something here in Charlotte yesterday and only 69 today. 74 and 70 this weekend before 60s again next week broken up by 78 on Thursday. I'm getting tired of feeling a little chilly when I wear shorts, where's April when you need it.77degrees in L.A. this weekend. If it gets bad we may get a cloud or two.
I always LOL at when Cali people make fun of east coasters when we get a tiny little earth quake like we got a few years back...then they turn around and completely go nuts when it actually gets "cold" there.Enjoy your wildfires and dehydration.77degrees in L.A. this weekend. That's crazy. We got 8 inches of snow on Friday and it was gone by yesterday afternoon.I'm pretty much convinced this winter won't end until June.
I was outside all day Friday and Saturday demoing my old deck. The ground was frozen solid. I had to shovel snow away so I could work. Everything was hard as a rock. Couldn't even dig out little 1x1's that held up the trellis under the deck. Too frozen. I'm supposed to rent a Dingo and an auger in 2 weeks, and I'm having 2nd thoughts as the ground may still be rock hard given the 14 day forecast.
It's mostly gone here too...will be after today I'd imagine. It was a pain working in it, but honeslty, I think the cold frozen ground is preferrable over the alternative mud. I think I'm struggling some because the deck is mostly in the shade all winter. Very little sun. Plus, the ground under the deck hasn't seen sunlight in 12+ years. I was just shocked at how hard it still was. I figured it'd start thawing by yesterday evening, but no such luck. That's crazy. My sister was born in Philadelphia on 4/23, and it snowed that day. Anything is possible, GB.Looks like below average temps (for the most part) until about mid April. There will be some warm days intermixed in there, but there could also be some brutal cold days, too. Pattern is still active. And that means if a storm hits at the perfect time, it could be snow instead of rain. Is that likely to happen? No. I think we saw our last snow in the waning hours of winter on Friday.
But I don't think the chances of snow are zero. I'd say we have a 18% chance of seeing one last snow before the warm weather hits. I'm not trying to sound all precise, I just thought 20 was too high and 15 was too low. Almost time to fire back up the spring storm thread.
Yeah, I meant looking at the models and teleconnections, I don't think we have any storms coming. I know that we can get snow, I just don't think we have to worry about it this year.My sister was born in Philadelphia on 4/23, and it snowed that day. DC may have flakes tonight/tomorrow morning. Big storm on horizon for April 4 & 5?Who's up for an Easter Nor'easter? Anyone? Bueller?
You know Sheik I like you but your love for this weather pattern is becoming disturbing...I need some spring and sunshine. Haven't had a practice for either of the baseball teams I coach yet, getting an hour in Saturday in the gym. Younger son has a soccer game Saturday in Hamburg right off 78, temps in the high 30's and a possible snow flurry predicted...lovely.Who's up for an Easter Nor'easter? Anyone? Bueller?

Wow, haven't gotten any practices in yet? Crazy. We lost a bunch of practice time down here in Charlotte with the snow/ice and rain, but my 7 year old has already had 2 tournaments (another on Sunday) and 2 rec games and a bunch of practices (many cage/outfield stay off the infield). So glad I moved South twice now from CT to VA to NC. "I unfriend you."Who's up for an Easter Nor'easter? Anyone? Bueller?
We were looking good before last Saturdays 6 or 8 inches, as of yesterday both fields still had snow/ice in spots. Should be gone after today's rain but now temps are supposed to drop...ughhh, I'm ready to move south.Wow, haven't gotten any practices in yet? Crazy. I moved south for about 14 years and I loved being in the warm weather. Had no real desire to move back north again. And when I had friends who moved north and would say how much they loved it, I'd call them crazy. We were looking good before last Saturdays 6 or 8 inches, as of yesterday both fields still had snow/ice in spots. I hear you...I like seasons too....That's sort of why I'm done with winter. It's spring #########.I moved south for about 14 years and I loved being in the warm weather. Then I moved back north. At first I hated it. But I love having four seasons again. The leaves changing, tracking snow and seeing the spring colors of blooming plant life. I love it. Sure it was nice being warm all of the time, but there's something special about living up north, too.
I liked Phoenix a bit when I visited there, but I don't think I could live there full time. I like LA when I lived there because you had the coast, so it wasn't just desert, but Phoenix was desert. I'd rather be down here in Charlotte, still have a biggish city (Portland, Orlando, Pittsburgh, Denver, Baltimore, St. Louis size) and warm weather, some seasons (mild winter, but some snow and ice), but also trees and forests. C'mon down, I'll let you use my iPhone 6 plus to get rid of some of your buyer's remorse.I'm so so tired of this cold. And grey. And snow or rain. And cold. Constantly. And as a result my kids being sick or my wife being sick or me being sick. I'm tired of looking like a pale sickly ghost. I hate NY. I hate it. So so much. I'm moving to Arizona or something. This is just dreadful.
Fun prank to play on the kiddos - DON'T dye the eggs at all. Hide them outside just before the snow. Watch the fun on Sunday morning!Still watching Easter for possible snow!
It was just dumping snow for a few minutes at work here in Florham Park, NJ. Nothing stuck, and it's slowed down, but it was coming down hard briefly.

Yeah. That was expected. A nice coating on non-paved surfaces. I'm still watching Sunday. Doesn't look like we'll get a huge Easter Nor'Easter like I hoped. Mainly, I just like saying Easter Nor'Easter. But a good 3+ inches is still possible. It was just dumping snow for a few minutes at work here in Florham Park, NJ.
