Can you explain the use of the word "ya"?  Is it now too difficult to spell out "you"?  I hope you did something valuable with the time you saved clicking on that extra letter.  I'll save the same amount of time here by calling you an idio
Oh brother - everyone has to be a comedian. That was kinda funny, but so what if he used the slang term "ya"? I think BostonFred is still reeling from his disappointing loss in the ALCS. It's now affecting his persona. Not to start an argument, but Boston natives, of all people, shouldn't be complaining about how others talk or type. Don't get me stahted about how people from Bahston talk. Should I be repremanded for using the word "kinda"? Or what about if I said, "Today I was gonna wear my red socks, but I didn't want to see people crying".

- Touche

well stated faede. i love how people like to rip on others for posting radio shows or something they saw on local news and not believe a word of it until they can see it in a weblink.

Ok, I'm splashing around in the pool... How many posts does it take to become a Shark? :P be gentle :D

I recently made a frustrated post to this effect in the big "Edgerinna" post and was absolutely hammered by certain members, who personally insulted me, my profession, etc. It was harsh. Of course, I did call the Shark Pool "Amateurville." But honestly, that's how I feel like it's gotten. People show no respect for one another and spend more time berating fantasy players and other posters than trying to assemble thoughtful opinion and analysis. It's really too bad.
Dude, you ripped the entire board, a board that you frequent, and then claimed some holier than thou superiority. You deserved every shot you got on that thread, and if you remember, I was the first one in line to slap you silly. :D You did back off your statements later on, and I respect that, but I will not back off what I said. You ripped every single person on this board (yourself included if you think about it). While people get upset when someone jumps the gun and rips into someone for an unsubstantiated rumor, there is some precedent for this. Like the guy that posted the Shaun Alexander injury story from 2002. If you didn't look too closely it looked like Shaun was likely to miss the game this weekend. While some of the bashing is unjustified, it's all the childish fishing trips (like the Alexander thread) that make people so leerie and quick to jump down someone's throat....Remove the fishermen and there would be a lot less animosity from the people that have gone for the bait and gotten burned....

SMLEVINMost Vets signed up on the same day....so unless you got in early, #'s 200 to 2000 are probably equal in terms of being an agressive fantasy footballer, for this site. Even then latecomers still have the opportunity to possess outstanding skills, they just found this site later than others  I don't necessarily agree that the number of posts is a reliable and valid statistic. I avoid certain posts because of all the negativity. To post for the sake of seeing your post and building up your own ego-driven number means nothing.....I prefer quality over quantity. So the ratio thing may or may not tell me a whole lot......the quality and sincerity of the post counts most. And you know what none of us are perfect  I do agree that it's a waste of energy to rip others. There's no such thing as dumb question.......as an educator, we should encourage learning, but not at he cost of blatant stupidity  Fantasy Football is a micro-cosym of our society.....just like sports, business, religion, or culture...........you will have nice, compassionate people and you will have angry, upset and ego driven people  You want to rip on people, FINE, pyschologists will tell you that it's more of what your problem is than the one looking for a little help.......SO, look your self in the mirror, before you want to rip somebody and lets clean this board up  Remember the intent  By the way, I hardly even go the the assistant coach forum anymore cause it has got so brutal with the ripping. I think because everyone thinks they are so big being SHARKS, why waste your time either posting cause you should know better OR why waste your time trying to help someone out?I mean c'mon none us knows all  The object is trying to get an EDGE  So, I'm sure this post will get ripped........but hey, my ego is in check, have your way.Team Smokin' (my current and past history)6-1first in total pointslong time FF competitve playerMasters Degree******** you know I've always wondered what kind of people play this game ( I know millions do ), what ages, education, etc. *********

If you're harkening back to the better days of old, I suggest you move on to the RSFF for awhile. This board has not changed, but your perception of it may have.

RSFF

I seriously thought that switz? It was my downfall to post my personal educational level of experience  That's life :yes:I'm actually in the process of getting my doctorate degree in fantasy football....looking to replace the Professor Dr. Clayton  Can't wait to go up against Mr. Right Shaun Salisbury Steak

Hi Faede,Actually, I thought it was a good post. Shick! is right in that sometimes the old days get remembered a little more fondly than they really were, but I have to admit I've seen the attitude stray some from what made this board what it is. Every board has it's "niche" whether it be a place to trade insults or jokes or information. Our niche has always been a flame free zone where people can share information.Let's please make a move back toward that and save the attitude stuff for the FFA. Keep it Bill and Ted with the "be excellent to one another" and we'll be good.Let's see how it goes. It's a lot better to ask first. If that doesn't work, we'll start weeding out the guys that can't fit within the paramaters of what we're looking for. It's cool to have a ton of people on the board. But honestly, it'd save me a bunch of money if the board were 500 serious people trading good information and not being trolls vs having a ton of traffic and having to spend time dealing with it.Let's see how it goes.J

/planttongueincheek/I blame all of this abject ruthlessness to the Godless hedonists on the FFA forum who have made their way over here. All of those threads bashing religion and Christianity have led to the moral decay that we are witnessing here. ;)/unplanttongueincheek/

Maybe if you weren't shoving your ### in our faces we would be kinder and gentler with you. :P

Who's making the line on the members that will be first on the chopping block when Joe decides to sweep through us like a Biblical plague (I'm picturing an angel of death like at the end of Raiders but with Joe's face)?Seriously, I agree with Faede, having been guilty of it myself.Love and kisses to you all,STC.

Hi STC,LOL at the image but that's pretty much what it's like. And Beto is right, this is pretty much an October / November thing. I'm pretty sure it's totally related to my patience level as the 18 hour days start wearing on me about week 8 or 9 before I get the second wind... ;)J

Setting a line for getting rid of bad members that post? I'll start...

Odds of being "axed from the boards"...

HERD- 1:10 Likely to be axed, he's a smug moron who should have never been granted access to the board.

Switz- 10:1 Roughly the same odds as Onterrio getting the starting gig

Joe Bryant- 12:1 This guy acts like he owns this site or something...

Faede - 15:1 The avatar alone brings him onto the odds board

Just playing. Good day to all! Any others? ;)

HERD

I thought about what you said, but after much consideration, your member number is too big and your post count too small for your thoughts to have any merit.
So, I guess because your member # is lower that makes you more knowledgeable? Well, My # is higher than yours, but on the old board my # was 207. My post # isn't as high as yours either, but I don't pad that number with idiodic post like this one. If I have something that can add to the topic I add it, if not I shut the F - up! I agree some people ask for what they get, but there are alot of times people are being belittled in here for no reason at all. This would also be the reason some post #'s are small.

This board is definitely cyclical...midway through the season we always seem to get to this point. The reason? Because now there's not much to analyze or debate really. We have all had our drafts, and our teams are either kicking butt or struggling. Most people become completely focused on who they have, whether they're playing, and how/when/why their players might improve/decline. It's a switch from broad focus on the potential of EVERY player and scenario to the myopic focus of one's own roster(s).But, I think as the board gets more mature, there tends to be a larger component of Sharks who view this board as "their own" and are more apt to attack newbies who don't know the secret handshake so to speak. Just remember that we were all newbies at some point fellas.Oh, and if I'm putting odds, 5:1 says that Satan character will be the first guy banned.2098/13 = 161.4 :thumbup:Cheers

i'm ####ed. :( i better make a long post on dynamic vbd soon to show that i still do know what i'm talking about.

i think a big part of the problem here is all of the cliques that have developed and have multiple inside jokes that nobody else gets creating a feeling of being an outcast and all alone.i know i don't appreciate that crap.:shortbus:

Can't we all just get along? I look at this like family, we share, laugh, fight and cry but still love each other. :)

I can't believe that I actually got a serious reply to this. Here's a tip, reach back and remove the hook that has your undies in a twist.

mainly cuz it comes across as one big gigantic whine-a-thon.you know what's really funny is how serious people are. That's what's funny. People get wrapped up in this board like its some real life big deal. Its not. So next time you disagree vehemently about what some guy posted, either ignore it or bring your A game and slap him around some. Its ok. Just don't whine about it. If you need to whine then report the post, click on "report this post". clue #1: this is not real lifeclue #2: this is a make believe message board with fictional characters and anonymous posters you'll most likely never meet and have no idea if they are a 12 yr old or a 45 yr old transsexual.clue#3: learn to ignore things that bug you, its a valuable skill.late

And for telling everyone to go get Foster who is worthless until Davis breaks a leg even though Davis's contract is 2 more years than Foster's and his salary is like millions and millions more than Foster's, thanks. I got offers for Foster that I never thought possible. You the man!I think this post hooked all of the usual suspects guilty of the said accusation on the original post, although there are members who post only to rip. But who cares about them.Oh, and 104/5560 = 0.019. I'll just make my exit now... Just like to point out that the new board ate my old number...

Hi TB,Just to be clear. I think I know how you meant it, but it's definitely not ok to "slap" the guy around some. If something is out line to you, either ignore it or report to a mod.

That's the key to making this thing work.

Thanks.

I can't remember - are sharks nice to other fish?Point taken, and I agree that we should try, as Joe says, to "be kind to one another."But, then there's BnB and 'bagger - all bets are off when they post. :P 'baggerPosts: 3905Member No.: 5856.67BnBPosts: 2204Member No.: 4055.44MePosts: 2518Member No.: 14151.78(still can't figure out how my number is 1415 when I signed up the same day as those guys)
Dear Low Member No./High Post users:Your ratios dont mean jack ****. If you hang out on these boards long enough, you quickly realize its quality and not quantity of posts that matter. I can point out several members that post an average of 25 times per day that dont make a single usefull contribution to the board.Heres a more usefull ratio to use:Money League Championships/years in FFB.My ratio is much more usefull because before I read one of your opinions, I would rather know how successfull you have been, not how you managed to sign up on April 14th so you could have a low member No.

The ugly barbs don't bother me a bit... but then again, I've been posting on much nastier forums for quite some time. All I have to say is... get some thicker skin and stand behind your opinions. Even though you're all wrong. :D

You're just hoping that he gets axed so nobody will find out how you won your local league last year. :bag:

:rotflmao: I'm going to do my good deed of the day right now. This kind of post only fuels the fire. Whenever someone makes a post such as this you're taking the bait hook, line, and sinker. This is exactly the response that's wanted. And no matter how many times people say in the exact same thread that nobody is serious with member # posts, there are still people that justify their high member # with their trophy room of fantasy football championships. The best way to handle this is find a poster who's member # is slightly higher than yours and then bust his chops. It's like #### rolls down the hill. It's not serious, and it's done in a lighthearted manner. I have never seen one member # post who's even remotely serious. Of course on the old board Rush (#7) would be able to trump us all and shut all of us up, being the lowest non-mod member. Some people who are new miss the fact that there are a lot of people on these boards that have been around each other for a few years and were hazed in the same manner when they came on board. It's tradition. The noobs always get a harder time.I remember on the yellow board when people were getting ripped for being higher than # 600. Then it went to the 4 digiters and then the 5 digiters. The 4 digiters who got ripped then passed the tradition along to the 5 digiters. It's all in good fun. There are times when people have gone over the line with posts in the shark pool, myself included, but member # smack is never one of those times. Like Joe said, if you really do have a problem with a post, click on the report post link. And you're right, a low member # on this board doesn't necessarily mean too much. But if you had a low member # on the old board (310 for example) then you're really smart.

Howdy UM,But given your avatar, I'm assuming you're tougher than normal... ;) (Class of 86 - Crocker / Dudley's Draw)

But seriously, I want this board to be way more cordial than most of the sites out there. I really don't care what they do. I've seen what kind of poster that style attracts. No knock on them, it's just not what we're doing here.

So as a general rule, it's pretty safe to assume I consider everyone to have thin skin. It'll work better that way, trust me.

Thanks.

DON'T READ THIS POSTI'm merely padding my post count so that one day my opinions will be taken seriously by BNB. ;) That is all.
I couldnt disagree with you more. "Taking the bait" had nothing to do with my post...on the contrary, I was the one fishing for member No. egotists and your long winded response produced a keeper.Member No. posts are usually light hearted and made in a joking manner. However, far too many times new users are chastized by one of the famous April 14 crew for making a newbie mistake. Maybe it is funny to you, but it isnt to many.

This board is getting worse and worse as the days go on.

...

I have done it as just as much if not more then most of you.  I get caught up in the heat of the argument.  It's just stupid, but it happens.
I always operate on the idea that I dish it and I can take it.So for me it's very simple: If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

Have fun, good luck, hope ya win, see ya later.
Without a doubt, this is the worst post ever. Can you explain the use of the word "ya"? Is it now too difficult to spell out "you"? I hope you did something valuable with the time you saved clicking on that extra letter. I'll save the same amount of time here by calling you an idio
LMAO for getting ripped. Figures - I added the last line to soften the message and add a friendly sportsmanship note. Good job freddie, ya tard - thanks for makin my point. :D

I still don't see what any of this has to do with Onterrio Smith...........But seriously, it's not hard to separate the wheat from the "chaff" on this board. There are many, many folks here who can keep things from getting personal even in the most heated of discussions. I tend to pay more attention to those types, and ignore the flamers. Consider miscreant type behavior as a favor - it means they probably don't have any useful information or insight to give, and you can flip the bozo bit on them. Less wasted time for you sifting through the junk posts and focusing on the goodies.
