This had me laughing.surprising turn of events today.
Somewhat surprised with the slowness at this turn, and the lack of pre-drafting at this stage - but mostly surprised that captain Hook hasn't had an embolism yet.

For my last 4 picks, I went WR3, QB2, WR4 and RB3.
The reasons are pretty simple - supply and demand.
I have maybe 24-25 QBs that I think are locked in as starters and worth owning. I don't want to be wondering if I will get a zero from my QB2, so I wanted to lock that position down first as my first backup (QB2). The scarcity at QB for starters told me all I needed to know as far as what to target at the 7/8 turn. I sort of wanted Bradford instead of Rivers, but once Bradford went (nice pick Broadway G) I took my WR3 in Denarius Moore first (knowing I'd get Rivers or another QB on my list right behind him) after MoP's 2 picks.
Having done WSL and PDSL and knowing that the QB2 run would come, the time was right to get Rivers before it got to the bottom of the barrel.
As for Moore, I like Oakland to throw more and Denarius should be the top target, especially with Myers gone. I nearly took Emmanuel Sanders there, and I was thrilled to see him come all the way back to me at WR4, which is arguably the most important backup on a survivor team (covers 3 WR byes).
The last pick has boom/bust written all over it, but DeAngelo Williams is a home-run hitting RB and as my RB3 with about 45 RBs already gone, I love the value I got in him. I think he sticks in Carolina one more season.
Team:
QB - Matt Ryan (6), Philip Rivers (8)
RB - Alfred Morris (5), Vick Ballard (8), DeAngelo Williams (4)
WR - Wes Welker (9), Stevie Johnson (12), Denarius Moore (7), Emmanuel Sanders (5)
TE - Jason Witten (11)

Well, considering that at the point of my last post I was digging myself out of a self-inflicted hole at QB, that was then compounded by the QB Run, I don't think this has wound up half-bad, with only 2 picks remaining.7.02: Brandon Pettigrew, TE Lions...Fiddles PM'd...
Well, I think I'm-a gonna get comfy playing catch-up the rest of the way. Could very well be a short shift for me this Season, and a corresponding demotion. Gambled and lost, I think, taking Big Ben at 5.02.
Now, I think that Year 2 of Todd Haley in Pittsburgh is going to be a big improvement. I think Big Ben has some very real upside, even missing several pieces from last year...but all things considered, it will probably be proven that I would have wound up stronger by passing on QB there and going another route. Given the format, I gambled that more QB would go through 5/6, and bump something down nice down to me at 6.15...not so, but 13 WR and 6 TE's did go, and that could be my undoing.
It's not that I don't think Mike Williams can be a solid WR3, but there are things I look for out of my WR 3 that guys like Torrey Smith, James Jones, Steve Smith and DeSean Jackson offer - big play potential. Ironically, for how risk-averse I can sometimes be, WR3 is traditionally the position I load with boom-bust guys. Then again, I've never won one of these, and I've already strayed from my usual path. Williams has upside, yes, but right now I'm relying more on the opinion of others that he's capable of hitting it. I'm inclined to think at this point he's much more capable of being closer to average, and that's not enough to merit taking a QB at 5.02, over some of the WR that were available.
Although there was a mini-run on TE in the 6th, I think I escaped being punished for waiting until 7.02. VDavis, Olsen, Rudolph, Pitta, Cook and Daniels are all different faces of the same man, IMHO, and I think Pettigrew has a higher ceiling than any of those guys....there was still enough TE depth at 7.02 for me to have options to consider. Whittled it down to Pettigrew vs Finley. Had Pettigrew last year, and think he HAS TO improve on the drops, especially in the Red Zone/End Zone. Some interesting combo's I'm developing at this point. Big Ben/AntBrown and RgBush/Pettigrew. Through 7.02:
Big Ben
AFoster/RBush
RWhite/AntBrown/TBMWilliams
Pettigrew
I'm not sure what you mean by this? If you mean you should have got more time when your 2nd pick was up? But that is not the case. In these survivor mocks people on the tail end get 1 time clock. I didn't know that and haven't looked at the rules to verify, but I would think the picks on the ends would be treated seperately....that only seems fair....meaning you time out on the first one, then your clock is shortened to 4 hours on the second one......no dog in the race, but I was just on the end in a draft and am curious.....Bass?I'm not sure what you mean by this? This is what it says up top in the rules. "No additional time for the people on the tail end of the snake." How I interpret that is you get 8 hours on the end for both picks. But I couild be wrong, it wouldn't be the firist time. lolI didn't know that and haven't looked at the rules to verify, but I would think the picks on the ends would be treated seperately....that only seems fair....meaning you time out on the first one, then your clock is shortened to 4 hours on the second one......no dog in the race, but I was just on the end in a draft and am curious.....Bass?I'm not sure what you mean by this? if you hadn't previously timed out, you would realistically get 12 hours to get both picks in but you would be on a 4 hour clock the rest of the way

Owners in the 1 and 16 positions only get one clock for both picks together. As you stated. They could hold the draft hostage for nearly 24 hours everytime. This way they are in the same boat as the rest of us except they are only there half as often. The rule has been this way and enforced this way.hmmm...just saw this....
"No additional time for the people on the tail end of the snake."
not 100% sure as to what exactly that means, but if it means both your picks get skipped personally I think it kind of sucks.....getting your clock cut in half is already the punishment....you shouldn't get your second pick skipped too.....if you get in before that second 4 hours is over you should be able to make both your picks and carry on with a 4 hour clock the rest of the way....
as far as holding the draft hostage for 12 hours or something......if a guy on the ends really wanted to be a d-bag he could hold it hostage for darn near 16 hours without breaking a rule.....

The last 6 picks were about defense, kicker, and depth. Went with the Patritos due to a solid (soft) schedule and a usual Top 10 finish, so that's a good start there. Locked up Tennessee as my DEF2 for NE's bye (Jax Week 10 for TEN).
Took Celek as my TE2 as I think Chip Kelly will use 3 TEs early and often - and they will get lots of snaps and targets. Celek will remain the TE1 for one more year in Philly, and I think he's a value pick at TE this year.
PK - Took Matt Bryant as I love dome kickers for high scoring teams. Locking up my second kicker with the Round 16 pick comes next. Just got Mason Crosby, who is a solid option with very little threat in Green Bay (despite rumors to the contrary). The Pack scores a lot, and him as my PK 2 is solid. especially with some big question marks around the league at kicker.
WR5 - Santana Moss. Wanted Justin Hunter to fall (nice pick) or even Markus Wheaton to handcuff to Emmanuel Sanders (that'd be a great strategy) - but alas, didn't happen. Someone else must be high on Wheaton too. I think PITT throws a lot again this year as they try and figure out their ground game. Considered Lloyd (who just went) and Joseph Morgan (don't like him that much) here as well. Just can't trust Lloyd at this point without a home. Moss isn't sexy, but he is a solid WR5.
QB - Matt Ryan (6), Philip Rivers (8)

Thanks. Don't know if it mattered or not with me taking Vinatieri. For an 18th round pick, I struggled a lot debating whether to take a second kicker or backup my QB2/Flynn with Tyler Wilson. I don't like the Week 12 bye for Russell Wilson with Flynn as my QB2. Flynn could lose the job by then but I gambled he doesn't and that the extra PK scoring will help more often. Still not sure I made the right choice.I backed it up to his turn.... didn't see why he'd be skipped.
I'm interloping from SSL4, but our two teams are so similar in strategy and character I couldn't resist (and If I'd pulled the trigger on James Jones at 6.15 instead of taking Josh Freeman, they'd be almost identical).2.08 Tom Brady QB NE (10)
8.08 Carson Palmer QB ARI (9)
I'm pleased with my two QB's. I wasn't really targeting a QB early but Brady seemed like too good of value to not pick him at 2.08. Brady should remain in the top 4 in scoring this year, he averaged 29.5 points in this scoring format last season. I'm glad I was able to land Carson Palmer with the 8.08 pick. After getting Tom Brady I knew I would want to wait as long as possible to get my backup while working on my WR and RB core in between. I was worried there for a moment that I waited 1 round too long and was going to be left with an undesirable backup QB. I think Carson Palmer will make an excellent later round round backup. Palmer averaged 22.8 points a game last year in this format and with a better WR core to throw too I can't see him getting any worse and probably improve on those numbers slightly.
1.09 Ray Rice RB BAL (8)
3.09 Darren Sproles RB NO (7)
7.09 Shane Vereen RB NE (10)
17.09 Mike Tolbert RB CAR (4)
I like my RB group. I got a #1 RB in Ray Rice & my #2 RB in Darren Sproles. Vereen & Tolbert can have the occasional big game which is perfect for this format. I should be able to get 2 good scored most weeks.
4.08 Reggie Wayne WR IND (8)

6.08 Miles Austin WR DAL (11)
11.09 Greg Little WR CLE 10)

I like my WR group as well. As long as Austin and Ford stay healthy then I think this group will get me 3 good scored every week. Don't get me wrong this group does have its question marks and has some risk in it. Will Austin and Ford stay healthy? Will Little continue to show improvement? Finally, will Burleson be able to hold on to the #2 receiving job? If the answer is yes too those 3 questions then I have no doubt this group will do well for me.
9.09 Fred Davis TE WAS (5)

I wanted to try something different and see how long I could wait before I had to start getting my TE's because usally I get a TE early. Well that plan didn't work out so well I waited 1 round too long and ended up with Fred Davis and Eifert. This is bar far my weekest group. That being said this may not be a total loss. IF Davis can get back to what he did in 2011 and IF Eifert gets all used as often at I think the Bengals will use him I might be o.k. at this position. That's a lot of IF's though. If this were a 20 round draft instead of an 18 round draft I would have drafted a third TE to give another option just in case, but with only 18 spots those last couple of pick had to be used on my RB and WR core.
15.09 Dan Bailey PK DAL (11)
16.08 Roob Bironas PK TEN (8)
Normally I wait as long as possible to get my kickers but once again I wanted to try something different in this draft and get a couple early and see how that worked for me for a change. Bailey will score in the top 10 range for kickers and Bironas is a good kicker that gets the job done and should be a top 20 kicker.
12.08 Chicago Bears D/ST (8)
13.09 New York Giants D/ST (9)
I tried the same strategy with my defenses this time around as well. Normally I wait as long as possible and just grab any two defenses but I wanted to grab a couple early and see how that worked. The Bears finished first last year and the Giants finished 16th in this format last year. If Both can finish in the top 16 again this year I should do well at the D/ST position this year.
Other than my TE's I like this team. Only time will tell though if I drafted well or not.

Seems like another validation of the theory that despite the heavy PPR scoring system, getting 2 RB's early was the way to go this year. Beyond that you've got a good mix of consistent performers and high-upside guys, experience and youth, and even some decent depth with guys like Palmer, Vereen, and Little (a flat-out steal at 11.09). I think you'll be a real tough out.
I hope Eifert bombs, though, because instead of Davis and Eifert as my TEBC I've got Davis and Gresham.![]()
Obviously I am biased, but I thought I put together a pretty good team. I saw the dropoffs at each respective area and drafted according to that plan.broadways team seems the most solid of all posted so far. jeffs a close 2nd.

K and D completed, gave extra weight for early byes. Added Randle, Kerley, and Gibson at positions. I tossed Gilleslee and Randle around for my RB4, opted for Randle despite the thumb issue solely for the better offense and the likelihood of Murray missing time. Gibson steps into the Bess role, which was pretty lucrative in the past, was happy to get him in the last round. Kerley is another slot guy going extremely late that I think will well outperform his draft position.
I ended up with a middling to weak QB duo, which I will take considering my wait and the massive early QB runs. RB is obviously a disaster with no obvious RB1, but there's a large amount of potential, which at least one of the 4 will need to tap for me to compete. I feel pretty stacked at WR once Cruz signs, and will need a hot start at this position to keep me alive until (hopefully) one of the RBs pans out to be a consistent scorer. Gronkowski's health could be the key to surviving past the first few weeks.
Overall I'm feeling pretty good. A lot of these are won with train wrecks of a RB squad, but I never hear about winners skimping by on 3 part time receivers.
Prediction: Out before the byes when both QBs have a stinker, then a lot of wasted high scores in the latter half of the season.
Just comparing the two teams for fun:Final Roster:
