I have been reading the posts in the nomination thread and can say that, for me,

I only see three posts that really stand out right now:

RikishiBoy - the poem angle is just different. I always gravitate to the odd or different stuff for some reason........

Marvin 88 - Nice links! Proven writer. Grovel boy........grovel......

BassNBrew - Well written. Honest and humble.......

Note: Watched Marvin88, BassNBrew and all the others during the Survivor I contests for the Haiku's and the humorous stories. I also followed the Survivor I league during the year and can say that I enjoyed that contest format and league format. I only wish I could have been a part of it.

Nothing like a little humor to form a winning strategy. PS (note to self) Gotta be more funny. Make'em laugh if you wanna win.

diesel speaks his mind here. This is not new. They know that. If he puts his foot in his mouth every now and then, well who doesn't. I doubt DD Woodrow or Carlton think twice about that comment

I hope you're right. I like Diesel and his input. This one just surprised me.

Probably 12-15 over the limit and another 12-15 non-serious replies. Looks like about 36-40 valid nominations and 20 will get picked in some form or another. Better than a 50% chance by my calcs.

I'll take that 50% opportunity to compete for the message board and against the staff every time its offered and I think their participation selection method was excellent.Good Luck to All!

Oops. I meant to change the percentages from 50% to 51% after reading diesel's post.

I didn't even bother counting the words of mine when I first posted it because I thought that there was no way it was near 250. But then I decided I better check and I was about 5 words over. So I changed mine to be 244.

Yes, check the ENTRIES thread. I wasn't refering to you as having previously played. You certainly seem like you have the resume to participate. I think Bostonfred, LHucks, Bass & Psychology Kev all participated last year and have good resumes as well.

Lets just say I might be avoiding the Message Board team locker room.

As I said in my application, I want to do the Auction League.

I have had a lot of experience and success in Auction Leagues, so I think that will help our team.

Obviously Tick has to decide this, but those people who have done well before and want to do the FFOTC part should defintely head there, the rest of us will be split between the Auction and Survivor portions - should be based on past success as well as desire.

God Help the staff members participating - they will need it

I think the board members should link up a message board where the Staff cannot see our discussions. Obviously :e: would be an option but there are Staff there and who knows who else goes there. Any ideas as to where we can talk?

The stakes are larger than two years ago. If there is a preference I would not mind doing Survivor style per past esperience.

I guess they would be options A or B.
