STAR WARS: Episode 7 (All-Time #1 opening box office.) (2 Viewers)

The special effects look great, but the ad is missing that sense of joyful fun that was prevalent in the first 3 films (well, really the first two) and sadly missing in the newer 3. Hopefully the film itself will have it, because the ad looked as dark as that last Star Trek film, which also had very little joy in it.
I must have missed all the "joyful fun" in Empire Strikes Back.
Needs more Jar Jar farting

Was this the full final trailer?

It played like a long teaser trailer. Series of action shots, didn't reveal plot
JJ loathes giving away anything. I think this is the last full size trailer we will get but we should see 2-3 TV spots from now until December that may show a few other scenes.

I've always had issues how something as important as The Force is so quickly forgotten.
The Galaxy is a big place. This is where the prequels screwed up though. Jedi counsel were prevalent and it wasn't that long prior to A New Hope.
But the Jedi were everywhere. Anakin on backwater Tatooine knew of them.
Because Uncle Owen couldn't stay off the sauce and would blab to Luke about his dad late at night.

I know. I'm saying they screwed that up in episode 1. Now, by the time Jedi rolls around its just vader and rumors.

You just type to hear the keyboard, don't you?

That's what life is, a series of down endings.

Looks like there's remnants of the Thrawn idea in this story.

Ren appears to be attempting to reconstruct empire. Finn is a trooper that wants out.

I wonder what Rey is looking for in the crashed Star Destroyer.

I sense something. A presence I haven't felt since ....

I must have gotten in right after AMC/fandango servers came back online. Locked up IMAX 3D for opening Saturday.
me too...freaking painful tonight....how the heck every website wasn't taken off line and every server—including the international space station's—wasn't pointed at Fandango is ridiculous. Did they not expect this??

 Well played.

Good god, man.

Empire was kinda dark. IF by joyful fun you mean the stupid physical humor and annoying C3PO/Jar Jar banter that is prevalent in the other movies, I personally will take what I saw in this trailer any day. The joy for me from the trailer is seeing how good the action with the Falcon and X-wings look. So geeked for this.

So, is that Vader's Apprentice?
No apprentice, but it could be his grandson.
The curve in the hip area leads me to belive that it's possibly a female. :oldunsure:
so is the idea that Adam Driver being cast (because that's definitely his voice) was just a fake out because everyone would assume that's him, when in reality they're just using his voice as the new James Earl Jones?" I'm not on board with this, just wondering if this is what you're speculating. Because you can hear that that's Adam Driver.

9 tickets for the 18th!

Didn't go for 3D - will go back and see it a 2nd time in 3D for the kids but 3D does nothing for me most of the time - I think it's my defect not the technology.

Dunno...does Adam Driver have girly hips?
Anakin's Padowan (sp?) is female in the Clone Wars cartoon series. Sayin'...

Can you ####ing nerds stop buying up all the opening weekend tickets? I want to take my wife to see this on that first Saturday but I'm not sure if I'm going to be in Orlando or at the beach nor what time we'll be able to go. If it's sold out all day, I'm liable to end up wandering around watching her spend all my money on gifts for her giant family. So knock it off. TIA.

Can you blame him?

1. SW geeks are going to watch it regardless. Thus, no need to throw you anything but scraps because you'll be on it like a bum on a ham sandwich.

2. Casual SW fans (like me) get excited seeing Han, Chewy and Leia again & will take their kids to pass the tradition.

3. Plus, I get tired of seeing previews for movies, TV shows and what not that basically tell you 1-minute attention span people the whole plot.

Rock on, JJ. :headbang:

Went ahead and got tickets for Saturday night for me and my daughter. Reserved seating at the baller leather recliner theater. :nerd:

Hate to give away this but.. Go to a small town near you that has theaters.. ..

The last 3 releases were sold out well in advance in the Twin Cities, yet my Dad and I walked up opening day and purchased tickets without any issues in our "small town". :)

I have a feeling that most theaters are going to commit a few extra rooms for this as the day gets closer. No reason to have less then a 1/4 filled room for some geriatric flick when people are clawing at the doors to get in

I imagine every theatre will be 50% Star Wars for the first two weeks. I'm sure they have contractual obligations to other studios to show their crap, but they'll find a way around that.
