Seeing the Millenium Falcon

The Falcon looked too good. They are going to need a throwaway line to say Han completely refurbished it or something. It was falling apart 30 years ago from this time line.

Yup. People are expecting major plot or character reveals, which ain't gonna happen for several more months. The whole point of a teaser trailer this far out is to say "we are in fact working on this movie, and here's a little proof." Let's not read too much into things. Besides, I thought the Phantom Menace would be the greatest thing ever based on the teaser trailer, look how that turned out.

The thing I immediately gravitate to is that this looks like an actual film and not a digital video game like the prequels.

When I heard JJ wanted actual props and sets built I knew it would already be an improvement. Lucas' killed the last three with all his green screens and cartoon characters and sets.

It became about selling toys when we saw the originals. I was all over Star War figures in 1977-1980.

Anyway I loved Star Treks reboot. Less nerdy and more cutting edge. I am a Star Wars guy far more than a Star Trek guy. So I am very happy JJ Abrams is at the helm here. He will make this a really good movie.

Loved the teaser, can't wait till next year to see this bad boy. I think the series get's a much needed shot in the arm this go around. Plus Luke, Leia, Han and Chewbacca are back?

Thought the trailer looked really good. I'm a fan of Abrams in general (really liked Fringe, loved Lost until the haphazard end, love the Star Trek reboots- even as a huge Trek nerd). I think Abrams is much better suited to Star Wars than he was Star Trek. As much as I liked the new Trek movies, they felt more like Star Wars than what Star Trek had become (I wouldn't call them boring myself, but I can see that complaint).

yeah they were fine. They were not great obviously and no where near as good as 4 or 5, but anyone who wants to try and pretend they stand on a moral high ground thinking that the Teddy bears in in 6 were better than Revenge of the Sith really expose themselves IMO.

I am pretty sure I read on here (or maybe somewhere else) that JJ is pretty much scraping the entire book universe and starting fresh with the prior movies as the baseline.

I think it was more your kid wanted to know when Jar jar became a Jedi and you freaked like a parent having to explain sex to his kid for the first time and switched to paw patrol to avoid the conversation and hoped he never brought it up again.
