There's a mandalorian symbol found in the scene when they're walking into that funky temple with the banners/stuff hanging high, leading people to speculate/hope that Boba Fett is somehow back. Even suggesting that Boba is in the rain scene standing with Kylo and the others. I'll try and grab some screen shots.

I paid for 9 tickets so I get to pick - 2d for the first viewing - plan to go back and watch in 3d later.

Going 2D the first time. Read it was put into 3D post production, so it's not as good looking as say Avatar. But, I'll see it a few times I'm sure, so the 2nd time will probably be 3D.

Look at 1:37 on the trailer.
The two main characters are in the desert with the new astromech droid. Something blows up. Something big. Something they were headed for and weren't attacking.
Look at the debris.
Is it the Falcon?

No : Boba is not in the rain scene. Just similar helmets.
Yes :The Mandalorian banner is flying prominently when the main actors walk into the temple (scene with tall red robot).

Don't think so and would be shocked if it was. It seems way too small for the Falcon based on where they appear to be.

just bought 4 tickets for Saturday, matinee. two of my kids don't particularly like 3D so I went cheap, but great seats.
Tickets were still available for the 17th, a lot of them. We're not in a huge city but Huntsville isn't exactly small or devoid of space-fan nerds.

Other speculation. Will put in spoilers -
Rumor is the Luke Skywalker story we expected, that he rebuilds the Jedi order after the death of Vader and Palpatine, isn't what happens. Instead, Luke apparently is so afraid of turning to the dark side and becoming another Sith Lord, that he flees and lives in seclusion somewhere.
Now, look at 1:40. That's Luke, identified by his robotic right hand, touching R2-D2.
Look at the background. It's a place of fire and ash.
The next sequence shows an imperial-ish ship landing in the same landscape. Stormtroopers and their captain are marching through the place. Next, in the same place of fire and ash, the new dark Jedi raises his lightsaber and strikes someone/thing.
Next clip - the new young female lead is crying.
This is followed by some battle scenes, then we get our first shot of Leia, looking sad, being held by Han. IMMEDIATELY followed by the new male lead wielding a lightsaber very similar to Luke's & Anakin's first lightsaber.
Totally crazy yet maybe not that crazy conclusion?
Luke gets killed in Episode VII, ala. Ben Kenobi in Episode IV.

After a couple more views, I agree. It might be the girl's home or something - hence why she ditches and goes adventuring.

Or after the Rebellion all of the regular folks pushed The Force, Jedi and Sith into legend, tired of them manipulating everything that is going on. That's why you hear the girl say "There's so many stories" and Han Solo replies with "The Jedi, The Sith they are all true".

Which was okay when ANH came out. The Force was established as a "Hokey religion" and that the Jedi were extinct and their "Fire had gone out of the universe".
But then the new trilogy established that it'd only been a handful of years since the downfall of the Jedi then it made it harder to believe.

I think it will be great for younger kids. In fact, I think the most recent three weren't bad at all except for all of us who grew up with ANH/ESB/RotJ forgetting that the movies are for kids.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more plausible it is I guess.
How much do people in totalitarian states like Nazi Germany and North Korea have their knowledge controlled by the state? Not a stretch to think the Empire would have such control as well.

Just reminded me that I wrote my college thesis on the parallels between Nazi Germany and the original trilogy. Poli sci major, spent most of college studying the Cuban revolution. Went to my professor and said, "I know I've been doing alot these last years with Che and Fidel, but I can write a great paper about Star Wars." He replied, "The anti-missile program?" "No, the movies." "Sounds awesome. Don't #### it up."

I live in a small (er) town but the only theater is at a high-end mall and gets swamped on weekends. Tons of kids in my town.
Hate to give away this but.. Go to a small town near you that has theaters.. ..
The last 3 releases were sold out well in advance in the Twin Cities, yet my Dad and I walked up opening day and purchased tickets without any issues in our "small town".
The main problem is, it's about an 80% chance I'm going to be spending the weekend in Orlando going to multiple holiday parties. I typically bring the wife and she snags us a free room somewhere (she's in the hotel biz) and I reward her for watching me disintegrate under the weight of 100 free drinks every year by taking her to a nice lunch and a movie at whichever theater is nearby the hotel we're in (typically Pointe Orlando on International Drive.) However, the vast majority of the hotels with which hers has reciprocal arrangements are, predictably, near Disney or Universal. Hence, our theater options are typically megaplexes in very densely populated areas with thousands of tourists walking around on top of whatever locals are buying tickets.

The very first shot with the guy going into the crashed ship looking for something. That has to be the ship that Vader died on, right? That's how he finds the mask for later in the preview?
And the shot of Leia being held by Han.... she looks to be wearing the rebel uniform for jungle battle....................... all which means that............. are they on Endor?
There aren't any Ewoks in the shots
Maybe the guy at the beginning is just a scavanger and stubles upon some kind of dark side force by the body of Vader and whatever is left of Palpatine and it turns him into the bad guy.

I'm almost positive it's Rey that's exploring the Star Destroyer that's shown at the beginning of Teaser #2.
Piecing this together, it seems like there's a battle between good and evil over the desert planet where Finn crash lands, meets up with Rey, they come together with Han and off they go...

Yep she's a scavenger, as are most people on her planet and they picked those ships clean. She's wearing storm trooper goggles and lives in a burned out imperial walker.

Yeah but, in Return of the Jedi his lightsabre was green, and in Empire it just fell out into the abyss of Bespin. It could of easily dropped into someones hands in Cloud city (I know, dumb, but how else does he get it back). I don't think Finn having the the blue lightsabre is an indication that Luke dies in this movie, I still think Solo buys the farm.

Just got two tickets for Wednesday night 12/23. We're headed to Vegas 12/24-12/30 so we can start our vacation the night before. I'm not familiar with any of the post-Star Wars books from the expanded universe other than hearing some of the character names. I'm very excited for Episode VII.

Only if Han has become a Jedi master and took an apprentice. Qui-Gon --> Ben --> Luke. it's a proven formula
