Star Wars Universe (1 Viewer)

Like many here, I grew up on Star Wars and remember seeing Episode IV in the theater when i was 6. My dad would get me a star wars figurine every week if I got a 90 or better on that weeks spelling test. I had a tie fighter and x-wing that I played with constantly, and I gave them "battle damage" with a lighter I stole from my dad. I've read many of the books, comics, and watched most of the shows. I've seen every move in the first week of release. That streak is likely ending.

I liked TFA well enough, though I was a little disappointed that it seemed to just be a retelling of ANH. I was on board with Han's death and thought it could really be significant to the story going forward. Then came TLJ, which was a total dumpster fire. The kids seemed to like it well enough but it's telling that they have yet to request it again for Family Movie Night, which we try to have every Friday or Saturday night. And we've seen multiple movies for the second time since TLJ has been released.

I did see Solo and really enjoyed it. I look forward to seeing it again. But I'm not all the excited for Episode IX, even with Lando.

This guy mocks a lot of movies with weak plots in his 'pitch meeting' segments, but I think he had a ton to work with TLJ.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1v2PV52WNLY

Is Solo still out in any theaters? I may go try to finally see it this weekend, but I'd much rather go see Ant-Man & the Wasp to be honest.
Saw Solo Saturday before it left theaters, couldn't convince the wife to go, she went to the 3 prior with me and found them all snooze worthy (she loves Marvel movies FWIW but not big on Star Wars.) Thought it was pretty good, but not great. Guy playing Han was fine, so was everyone else except maybe Khaleesi... even with dark hair its hard not seeing her as Khaleesi. And it was a little jarring seeing Jarvis/Vision as a bad guy which, while I was fine with Woody for some reason, he stuck out too much to me as a Marvel fanboy just like Khaleesi. There were a lot of things to like in the film, (my favorite little thing being the pristine Falcon at the beginning, that is beat to hell by the end of their "job") but there just seemed to be something missing and I can't put my finger on what that was.

R2 and C3PO

I thought L3 was hilarious to be honest. Adding cute new droids to sell toys or appeal to kids in each movie hasn't really bothered me at all. BB8, K-2, and L3 have all been memorable in their own ways.
Yeah I meant this is the 1st movie they aren’t in IIRC

I liked K2 a lot and BB8 is pretty cool, didn’t really care for the sassy L3 though

Wait, I thought they were just doing a Siege of Mandalore movie?
Looks like they are doing a 12 Episode mini-series of the clone wars to close it out including the siege of mandalore.  It's supposed to air on the new Disney streaming service which is the only annoying part of it.  Damn you Disney, your channels (Disney, ESPN, etc) are part of the reason my cable bill is so high, but now you want to release your new stuff on this side platform.

I’m 1 billion times more excited for this than the next movie.  OH HELL YES!!!!!!!

I’m having a nerdgasim.
Only caveat is, do they have the original writers on it? If they have anyone associated with the new movies on this then I'm out.

Good point.  It might be a bad assumption but I assumed Filoni was in charge since he’s headed up TCW and Rebels.

They are going to use unseen Carrie Fisher footage for episode 9. Beats the CGI/recast option. I’m sure she won’t be in the movie for long.

I don't understand why they didn't just kill her when she floated into space. Would have sucked but by that time they knew. Would've made perfect sense and no one would have faulted them for it. Instead they did that Mary Poppins #### and made it a joke.

Didn’t make any sense, unless they had all her other scenes shot already

I can't wait. In 1997, 20 years after release, Lucas brought out the Special Edition of A New Hope. May of this year is 20 years after the release of Episode One. I can't wait for the Special Edition of Episode One this May. It's gonna be awesome.

The back flip was awesome... Luke's talking... Lando!... broken Death Star... Leia... Palpatine!!!!... Rise of Skywalker!

Great trailer.

Who is the Skywalker that rises? Kylo, right? Rey? Luke?!
