Sources close to Jackson told FOXSports.com that Jackson and his agent will make the trip in order to negotiate with the team face-to-face and are optimistic that the two sides will reach an agreement on a new contract within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Jackson had skipped all of training camp and the team's two preseason games in an attempt to force the Rams to give him a new deal. As of Wednesday, the holdout had reached 27 days, prompting Rams head coach Scott Linehan to tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch earlier in the week it was "critical" that Jackson get into camp.

"It is getting critical to where time now becomes more of an issue for just the physical part of getting ready for the opener," Linehan said. "Every day we miss now ... does start to factor in as to what the workload will be from the start."

Jackson was limited to 12 games in 2007 due to injury, but still managed to top 1,000 rushing yards for the third consecutive season. He carried the ball 237 times for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns. He also had 38 receptions for 271 yards and another score.

Apart from Emmitt, I don't remember any star nfl player actually holding out into the regular season. They all give in when they're about to miss a big paycheck.

How will he arrive, in his new Honda?Just joking...but this is good news.
Not that it matters but i think the St Louis Dispatch had it long before Mr Glazer. He is pulling an espn. Confirming a story reported by a newspaper and calling his own.
