Stevie Johnson mocks Burress shooting himself (1 Viewer)

Blaming Johnson for the Jets 2nd TD is foolish. Yes, the celebration cost them 15 on the kickoff, but it isn't his fault that the kicker completely botched the kickoff. The drop near the end was bad, though (the one he probably would have taken to inside the 20, not the one in the end zone that would have been an almost impossible catch).

And who is DeShawn Jackson?

Either way, a guy being that cocky ought not drop the winning TD when he's wide open and gets a perfect pass in stride.
he had about a 5% chance of scoring on that play.
I think he had quite a bit more of a chance than that. But even 5% is better than the 0% chance that dropping a perfect pass gave them. And even if it didn't score and he was down right where he caught it, it would've geometrically increased their chances of scoring.
So would about 50 different plays being made differently throughout the game. Your point?
I bolded it for you, though why you have it in your reply but can't seem to locate it is a mystery.

When celebrating plays crosses the line into unsportsmanlike conduct, the person responsible is an idiot, who may or may not also be a selfish clown.
Which matters to... who?
Whom. And I imagine if you asked the Bills coaching staff, they'd probably tell you that it matters to the Bills.
the ridiculous penalty matters.. I'm sure if you asked any couch or player in the league if that should have been a penalty, they'd tell you NO...
I'm pretty sure he got the penalty for falling to the ground long after the dance. The dance didn't draw the flag.

I don't remember what they called the penalty, but with all the buzz, I assumed they were calling him for taunting or excessive celebration.. I don't remember hearing the ref official say anything about falling to the ground. But I'd agree that if he should have been called for something, it would have been that, and not mocking Burress shooting himself, as the thread is titled and as many posters here seem to have issue with.Still, as stupid as it is to get a penalty for whatever they called, it certainly wasn't the make or break point in the game like many here insist.. The botched kick put NY in scoring range at the half, and the poor defensive play lost this this game..

well, Stevie did spend a year learning from TO. I think it helped him as he has clearly worked very hard to go from being a 7th round pick to a star player in a short period of time, unlike James Hardy.

Guy was wide open, in stride with one person who could've stopped him. Maybe it wasn't as automatic as it seemed when I watched it but it was likely enough. Let me ask my couch what it thinks about it.

Any news from the Twitter people? Figured he was a lock for social media contribution of the day honors after what I assume was a morning of talking heads letting him have it all over the radio. Unless Chan Gailey threatened to send him over the falls in a barrel if he did.

Not that that couldn't backfire with a guy like Steve Johnson, who might see marketing potential in going over the falls in a barrel, tweeting all the way.

Going to the ground should always be a penalty on a celebration(they won't always call it though because NFL refs are absolutely awful, they make the refs from professional wrestling when I was a kid look brilliant).

Yeah. He went on twitter. He didn't blame God this time, he blamed his QB I guess. Appearently according to him there was no drop on the Final Drive. He wrote, “Haha wow I can’t believe you guys really telling me I ‘dropped’ the GWinner,” he wrote. “Smh. Pitt was a drop. This was QB&WR not on the same page.”

just watched the last drive. neither of the end zone passes were catchable. not sure if stevie was supposed to sit down rather than continue working across the middle of the field on the one where he was wide open.

He was suppose to continue working across the field. Fitzpatrick drew up the play in the huddle. I agree that was the only drop on the last drive but it was a brutal one. Stevie did look up a little late but the ball still went right through his hands while hitting him in perfect stride.

Could Hodge be any more of a tool?

"I would cut him. I would cut him today."

"(Stevie Johnson) has hurt this organization more than he has helped."

NFL has to have high moral standards since our government is so corrupt.

I wasn't a fan of this, but didn't care much for the Jets playing the moral highground card either.

Nice "bird flap" down 28-10 after you choked away 14 points Santonio. Punk.

As a Jet fan this made me cringe....especially after Holmes fumble and butterfingers directly led to 14 pts!
