Is anyone else having problems signing into Netflix?

Looks like it's down all over the world

The web based Netflix browser isn't working but the Netflix windows 10 app is working (I just downloaded it).
It was down for a while, but I rebooted my XBox and it is back running

Watched Gridlocked yesterday  .. so conflicted on this... In many ways it should be about a 1.5 out of 5 as it is full of cliche's and corny moments..

Yet.... after the first 15 minutes to setup the story line I found myself enjoying it enough to give it 3.5 out of 5... :oldunsure:

Watching "Occupied"

It's a Scandinavian show from the production company Yellow Bird who has done a few things I have liked.

Annika Bengtzon, Wallander, Girl with the dragon tattoo series and a cool movie Headhunters.

This show is about Norway stopping their oil/gas production which leads to Russia wanting to occupy their country.

While the story is far fetched but I enjoy the characters, feel the acting is very good and am entertained by the premise and how the show is slow playing the occupation.

That and I am a sucker for foreign dramas.

Give it a shot if it's in your wheelhouse.

Gets off to a pretty fast start so not like you have to invest too many hours to decide.
Real good show IMO and haven't seen it mentioned here other than you.

Worth checking out the first episode, as you said, it's starts out fast and escalates quickly.

Great acting.

On Netflix, you have "Because you watched..." and it gives you 15-20 choices...Most of them not at all related.

What is your weirdest?

"Because you watch Gilmore Girls" and one of the choices was "Left Behind"

Spent a ton of time binge watching Netflix recently. Some observations:

- big fan of Daredevil, though I really don't like the introduction of the supernatural elements in season 2.

-Jessica Jones gets a lot of hype, but this is a six episode season that they stretched into 13. Watchable for sure though if you're into the gritty super hero genre.

- since I was on a Marvel kick I started Agents of Shield. First three episodes bored me to tears, but I heard it gets much better... Worth powering through?

- Bojack Horsemen is very good but a little disappointing at the same time. I was expecting Archer-level funny, which is it's not in my view, but I'm still hooked on the stories and every once in a while I get a big laugh out loud moment.  Just started season 3.

I've been watching IT Crowd.  Pretty funny Brit/Nerd Comedy.  Very similar to Black Books (another excellent Brit Comedy).

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is really good.  Rachel Bloom is a true talent and the musical numbers are fantastic.

Happy Valley season 2 was good.  Subtitles needed though.
Watched episode 1 of season 2 last night. I may go back and watch Season 1 again because I am lost with regards to a lot of the characters.

Who is the girl with the glasses? A relative of Tommy Lee?

Also there was a really cool shot of following the car into the parking lot for the pub and I wondered how in the hell did they do that? Then I realized it had to be a drone.

Finished Season 2...It was OK, nowhere near as good as Season 1

The whole Frances subplot was pretty weak. I would have liked to seen how Tommy got her under his thumb. Ohhh she talked to Ryan. Talking about his dad. Just was nothing to me

The Human trafficking plot just petered out. Nothing for the last couple of episodes and then a quick blurt about her working.

And Darryl as the killer came out of left field.

I liked Catherine in season 1 because she was a total mess. She was too stoic this season.

Just started Dollhouse. Three episodes in, really liking it. Eliza Dushku is excellent.

Do they retain anything after the treatment? Because there was a moment, after both were wiped, where Sierra smiled at Echo, Echo shook her head and then Sierra put her head down.

Battlefield Recovery popped up on my suggested list and I watched the first episode.  It has the military gun guy from Pawn Starts with some other Brit and Euro Historians and Archeologists.  In the first episode they search for an old German bunker with some WWII history during capitulation.  It seems really over produced like a lot of the "reality" shows, but the history was still interesting.  If you like those archeology shows and WWII, I think you might want to give it a try.

Tried the Little Prince the other day.  Awful.  My almost 4 yr old had no interest in it and I can't say I blame her.  We got through maybe 20 minutes.

Consensus on the 2nd season of Bloodline? I'm 3 episodes in and every character is just so unloveable. It's getting better but I looked back a couple pages and it wasn't discussed.

I had low expectations because it seemed like a one season premise. But now that I'm done with season 2, I must say they did a great job extending the drama.

Over the weekend I bing-watched two Netflix originals....Marco Polo and The Last Kingdom. Very good and I highly recommend both. Marco Polo got poor reviews but I don't know why.

Whoa, just finished Season 1 Ep 6

did not see Mellie as an active. Up to that point, she reminded me of Rose from Two and a Half Men. Just a neighbor having a major crush on her hot neighbor.

Now want to binge watch the rest.

Loved the IT Crowd. They always rumored to be coming back for a fifth season, but you know how those crazy Brits are.
My favorite Brit show is Red Dwarf.  They had about a decade between season 8 and 9.  This September they will be releasing season 11 (not on Netflix :(  ).

Dollhouse didn't grab me.
You really got to give it time. The end of the series is amazing.
wife watched all the way through, IIRC. I caught episodes here or there. I'll give it another look if/when I've got time.

just signed up for the free month of HBO and started Silicon Valley.
Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge (H-U-G-E) fan of Firefly and I am not trying to insult or diminish it.

Dollhouse is definitely worth it for Wheedon fans but it really is another show of his that showed more potential than it actually delivered, kind of like Firefly. And like Firefly it leaves you wondering more about what could have been rather than thinking about what it actually was.
I actually think the opposite. Season 1 of Dollhouse when they were going at their own pace was just ok. Season 2 when they had to cram everything in because they knew they were getting canceled was amazing, much moreso than if they had to stretch that story out for 5-7 seasons around a bunch of standalone episodes. Unlike Firefly, which had amazing standalone episodes that made it ok for them to only touch on the larger arc every so often, the standalone episodes in Dollhouse weren't very interesting. It was the main arc that was, and cramming it all into one season with no standalone eps worked out great.
I completely agree. Season 1 of Dollhouse... kinda meh. Like watching a Hawaii 5-0. Season 2, pure awesome.
I am almost done with Season 1 and I am enjoying it  Will continue to watch through the end. However, DeWitt has to be one of the worst bosses/leaders ever on a TV show. She has let so much happen and even caused a few problems herself. Not an effective leader at all.

Can this be a not-recommended thread too? Started to watch the new David Cross comedy special and bailed. Not funny.

Just started watching "Limitless". Not bad, but I am getting a big Chuck vibe (Nerdy Loser, female handler, can't tell family anything). And Yvonne Strahovski is way hotter than Jennifer Carpenter.

Sorry to see it is cancelled

"American Ultra" with Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Connie Britten, Topher Grace, and Tony Hale. Mostly "meh" with a few moments of laughter. I'm beginning to tire of Eisenberg's shtick but this role kind of worked in his favor. It's a pretty poorly written movie with performances all over the place.
