Anyone watch Last Chance U yet?
I watched it, it was decent.  Not sure if you could keep going with it as a series, seems like it would be a lot of rinse/repeat.

Was back and forth on whether I even liked most of the players, and the coach was a jerk. Star of the show was the academic advisor lady, she had more invested in those kids than most of them did themselves, which was inspiring and kind of sad at the same time

Yeah I thought it was pretty good. Definitely hated the coach by the end of it and was surprised they kept him. The academic advisor woman was by far the star of the show. She has to really love her job to deal with all the craziness that she deals with on a daily basis. Kudos to her.

I have only watched a couple of episodes but have come to the conclusion that she does not get paid enough! Babysitting these boys in men's bodies, I would go postal!

I've started watching "Campus".  The first episode was kind of funny but a little meh, but after that it really has grown on me.  It's kind a of a College version of the Inbetweeners mixed with the UK Office.  The VC is totally like David Brent if he was 100x more vulgar.

Concerning Last Chance U, I played sports but never organized football. Is that head coach typical of what you would expect typically?

Didn't see it mentioned anywhere and not sure when it was released but the new season of Wentworth is out and am almost through it. They bring the heat this season, In my opinion it's better then Orange.

I think we saw this movie on Netflix- but apologies if it was Amazon...

4 Lions- british satire/comedy about british domestic terrorists (muslim), with the kid who plays Nas on "night of". found myself laughing a lot- it's goofball, with most of the humor coming from the goofball idiocy of the guys. as muslim jihadists, there's a bit of a... creepy... undercurrent to the humor, especially what their ultmate target is*. turns out this was made in 2010, so the proliferation of attacks on the continent and abroad hadn't really hit. I liked it- found it funny- but wonder whether it could be released today... i don't think so.

*

they settle on attacking the london marathon... this was made and released before Boston... so made both the wife and I cringe and wonder if there was any influence. fwiw- they're dressed, literally, as muppets for this.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but I thought Janis little girl blue was excellent.A lot of live footage of Janis.I hadn't listened to her in a long while forgot how great she was.

Season 3 of Rectify is up for people who like excruciatingly slow, brooding family drama.  Like my wife and me. :)

The Midnight After - Movie out of Hong Kong and about the end of the world..Maybe, not sure.

It is pretty bad and I am only halfway through it. But I will watch to the end because I am compelled to figure out what is going on.

Hadn't seen"the big short" until tonight on Netflix. It's great, great, great.

Sad thing is it'll happen again in the next few years

Over the weekend I bing-watched two Netflix originals....Marco Polo and The Last Kingdom. Very good and I highly recommend both. Marco Polo got poor reviews but I don't know why.
The Last Kingdom is a BBC original, although it seems Netflix is funding season 2. I loved the books, great story, very well-done show.

Remember the days when films were usually better than TV? That seems like so long ago now.

Stranger Things

This show is outstanding. The attention to detail, from the font in the opening credits to the analog synth in the soundtrack, is pitch perfect. I'm only four episodes in, but I am hooked. Highly recommended.

LOVED this show.  Started friday night and finished up on Sunday night.  Just couldn't stop watching.

very happy to see some BBC America content added but most notably "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell". I have tried to the book but never finished it.

Watched this on Netflix last weekend and thought it was pretty good.  Worth watching but definitely better stuff out there to watch first.

I'm on episode 7 of Last Kingdom - feels like a more serious and less fun version of the show Vikings to me. Definitely watchable but not amazing.

Is there a site that lists when shows will be dropped? I'd hate to start Narcos season 2 and then end up missing out on the last 2 seasons of Shameless.

Peep Show: Hilarious awkward comedy from the UK which is sort of like the original Office meets the Odd Couple (but not so different). #### cracks me up. Just as I was composing this, this part came on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09l0CGQ8WM0

Peep Show is a crappy name for it, but I guess it because of the 1st person camera thing they do. It's kind of unique and makes for some interesting cinematography moments.
I must have passed over this show a million times looking through recommended titles.  Finally checked it out a couple nights ago and good lord this show is so hysterical. We finished up the first season last night and there's 7 more!
