Just started How to get away with Murder. Three episodes in. Some unbelievable stuff (How did the terrorist get out of jail before the trial ended?) but I am liking the concept of the unveiling secondary story with Flash Forwards. Plus I have a on Liza Weil.
my lady and i have been watching mr norrell and mr strange and it is pretty good but it starts slow but we like bbc cause hey aint no one more ariticratic than the old swcer take that to the fancy tophat bank brobeefeaters
Is there a site that lists when shows will be dropped? I'd hate to start Narcos season 2 and then end up missing out on the last 2 seasons of Shameless.
I must have passed over this show a million times looking through recommended titles. Finally checked it out a couple nights ago and good lord this show is so hysterical. We finished up the first season last night and there's 7 more!
Peep Show: Hilarious awkward comedy from the UK which is sort of like the original Office meets the Odd Couple (but not so different). #### cracks me up. Just as I was composing this, this part came on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09l0CGQ8WM0
Peep Show is a crappy name for it, but I guess it because of the 1st person camera thing they do. It's kind of unique and makes for some interesting cinematography moments.

Sams death has some pretty believable stuff and i like the group is not totally rational. But when Annelise showed, come on!
Also, is there backstory on Bonnie and Frank? They are completely devoted to Annelise to the point it seems like Annelise got them out of some trouble in the past.
Not sure I have another season of this show in me. It was good at times, boring at others during Season 1. And early reveiws don't suggest that it took a leap forward in quality.
I liked both seasons. That being said, if you didn't enjoy season one, season two is about the same pace. I liked two better than one, but they were similar.
aussie/british sci-fi/missing-person/wtf is going on show.
we're two in... compelling enough to keep watching, even if character motivations seem goofy so far- although maybe that becomes more clear or better defined as the show progresses.
Road Games - French horror about a couple that gets hunted by a serial killer that preys on hitchhikers. It does have subtitles but both English and French are used through out the film. 7.5/10
Has anyone watched the pilot of Jean Claude Van Johnson? I nearly died laughing. If the series is even half as good as the pilot, I might have a new favorite show.
The finale very clearly sets up the ascending rival, a crime organization that, at the height of its reign, was responsible for 90 percent of the world's cocaine market.
"There's a reason why we call this show Narcos and not Pablo Escobar," added Newman. "It's very much about the trade. There are other drug dealers and there are alliances formed against Pablo [in season two], so there are a multitude of stories we could tackle."
Cleverman - Australian Political Supernatural TV Show. Humans are the ruling class and the "Hairies" are subhuman, forced into camps. Just finished the first episode...OK, not fantastic. But there are only 5 episodes in the series so I will watch the rest.
The Crown - A QEII biography starting with her wedding in 1947 and running through the present. Estimated 60 episodes over 6 seasons, beginning in November. Written by Peter Morgan, who also wrote The Queen.
The first season is reportedly the most expensive show Netflix has funded to date.
She is without question one of the most fascinating individuals of our lifetimes - 13 prime ministers starting with Churchill, crazy family scandals, murder, infidelity, war, opulence - this could be very good if done correctly. Especially fascinating to have a massive biography of a person not only still alive, but still on the throne.
It wasn't horrible. In fact it was entertaining, just not as "smart" as the the first half of the season IMHO. They managed to provide closure to the primary story line and gave the opening needed to flow into a Season 2, if that's their plan.

That's a little disappointing to hear considering the whole series has been a bit of a struggle to get through. I'm liking it a little more than my wife but neither of us looking forward to more or looking to give up on the show. Just kinda meh. We have those 2 episodes left. We'll finish it up but I don't get the hype for it.
Watched "Tucker and Dale vs Evil" last night. Good, light fun and a clever take on the genre. Tudyk and Labine were awesome. Loved the blonde from 30 Rock in barely anything too.
I think we saw this movie on Netflix- but apologies if it was Amazon...
4 Lions- british satire/comedy about british domestic terrorists (muslim), with the kid who plays Nas on "night of". found myself laughing a lot- it's goofball, with most of the humor coming from the goofball idiocy of the guys. as muslim jihadists, there's a bit of a... creepy... undercurrent to the humor, especially what their ultmate target is*. turns out this was made in 2010, so the proliferation of attacks on the continent and abroad hadn't really hit. I liked it- found it funny- but wonder whether it could be released today... i don't think so.

they settle on attacking the london marathon... this was made and released before Boston... so made both the wife and I cringe and wonder if there was any influence. fwiw- they're dressed, literally, as muppets for this.

Spot on take. I get what you were saying about the last two episodes of Stranger Things, but it didn't take me out of the overall story. Very recommend. Much like.
I think we put Amazon Prime stuff in here too, right?
There's this new show they have on there called "Fleabag" that's not like anything else on TV right now. It's about this oddly over-sexual chick and the characters that orbit her world. I can't really do it justice without spoilers, but it's worth the watch. While there's no nudity, it's not the show you want to watch with your kids or grandma around. Like most of the English stuff it's 6 episodes, so the pace is pretty fast.
"Zootopia" was fun. Great animation, solid voice acting and a decent script. I think it was a little above my 6 year old's head but whatever. Best Disney in some time.
My wife finished up Stranger Things this weekend. I sat and watched the final 10 minutes again...then my 10 and 8 year old sons stuck their heads in for the final scene. That's the first really trippy thing they've seen on TV, and I had to field about a dozen questions after that.
ah, good- thanks for reporting back. sorry (on my recommendation) that you didn't like it more.
I agree that the humor fell off a bit towards the end... but I still enjoyed the muppet race and a bunch of other things in the latter part.
sounds like I found it funnier than you... I've already absorbed rubby dinghy rapids into my lexicon. gotta say, it took me a little bit to get into it, but then I was all in... enough so on both counts that I'm looking forward to seeing it again so I can listen more to the earlier conversations- best parts, IMO, were when they're just sitting around talking.
While Terrance Malick is a director that is divisive and an acquired taste, Tree Of Life was one of the best films I saw in recent years. This movie, however, feels like leftover footage from said film. All the contemplative, tone poem qualities without any character to latch onto. I made it 40 minutes and that was enough.
Couldn't say it any better than the Onion AV Club:
