Just saw this on a friend's recommendation. It's no longer available streaming but got it by mail. Was a surprisingly excellent movie.

 
Watching the new episodes of the Fall and it's totally Blah as stated above by a few of you. Got one episode left but there's not much going on.

 
Went for a French thriller "Tell No One" because of the Netflix algorithm. It was reminiscent of "The Fugitive" in some ways. The lead looked like a cousin of Dustin Hoffman. It was good but not great. B- maybe?

 
I do not recommend that "Haters Back Off" show.  I typically like quirky comedies about weirdos and losers but this show is just the worst.  I gave it a couple eps just incase even though I wanted to shut it down a few minutes into the first one.  I want to know who thought this character was funny.

I made it to the breakfast table and bowed out.

 
I recently started watching The New Girl with my wife around the middle of the 4th season. But I liked it enough to begin from season 1. Very funny show.

 
Ok, decided to take one for the team and started to watch season 3 of the Fall.  So far it's hard to tell if it's a police thriller or medical drama.  And Scully still looks hawt.

Second episode has started and so far they've shown the bad guy getting cleaned in the hospital after surgery.  And in a medical way so I can't even be happy for that.  Oh and Scully was swimming a bit.

Saturday night is movie night at our house. Little man chose "Looney Toons: Back in Action". It wasn't painful but it wasn't any good either. Brandon Fraser, Jenna Elfman, Steve Martin, and the entire cartoon universe of Looney Tunes utilized. It was mile-a-minute in attempts at lighthearted humor in the same vein as "Space Jams" or "Roger Rabbit".

100 million teenage girls who buy crap with their parents money and are influenced by Target and Gap ads. 

 
3 episodes down and decidedly meh.  Looks like it's going to turn into a courtroom drama and the stupid nurse appears to be interested in the villain.  You know, the guy who's been accused of strangling like 6 women just like her?  Of course she'd fall for him.

I will push on for the sake of the rest of you.

I fell asleep part way through episode 3 last night.

yeah- appears to be more of a second half law and order procedural at this point. I think we're ready to pull the plug.

so nurse betty IS falling for him? I was hoping that wouldn't be the case, as it's been set up way too obvious.. and way too stupid. but there you go.

Not confirmed yet but she sure looks at him longingly.  I think I'll put myself out of my misery and finish it tonight.

Yeah, this is nowhere near as good as the first two seasons.

That said, the medical scenes were as accurate as anything I've seen on TV and nailed just about every detail from a medical perspective. I was impressed.

it felt accurate... as does the law-ey stuff assembling the case. accurate and boring for a show about a serial killer.

 
The Dana Carvey special - is really lame.   Just a lot of old bad impressions.  Turned it off after not breaking a smile 30 minutes in. 

If someone watches the entire thing and recommends it, I could be convinced to check out the rest, on a slow, "nothing to do night" in the dead of winter.

I'm through 4. 

ALERT... ALERT... he was moved to a pscyh ward! I guess there's interesting/realistic discussion about the legal, criminal, medical and psychiatric processes... I guess. at this point I just want nurse betty to show her boobs. I'm basically invested for that. and to see what kind of shenanigans the baby sitter gets into.

the wife loves the history of the english monarchy, so I'll probably end up seeing it unless she binges on her own.

I don't care about the english monarchy, but don't need lots of action to be entertained... just quality story-telling, acting, writing, cinematography, etc.

Damn, I forgot to watch.  I throw it on the telly when I'm on the hamster wheel this evening. 

 
Sing Street

Currently streaming.  I saw this in the theater earlier in the year and was instantly one of my favorites.

Now deep into the year, it's easily one of my two favorite films of the year.   It has a great little tribute to the prom night dance scene in Back to the Future.  Great sound track of Late 80's - Early 90's music.  Really good story.  Sometimes painfully awkward to watch.

I highly recommend this movie.

nurse appears to be finished in the show- didn't appear. those dark bangs, pale skin and hints of prodigious tracts... gave me hope.

I'll try to watch the last one this weekend. going out on a limb here- but I expect nothing else to happen. I'll let you know if something does.
