Streaming or currently airing TV shows (AKA Netflix thread) (7 Viewers)

I continue to like it a lot but the end of season 2 did leave me a bit
I thought it just left off in a good place to start season 3.

I like Dylan's new girlfriend Abigail; not looking forward to how it's likely to work out with them. :(

I started The 100, then it turned into a teenage drama. Not even as good as the Hunger Games or Divergent stuff.

So I never heard of The Crown. Anybody actually watch it? Cant believe the shows it beat at the Golden Globes. Sounds boring

I thought it was a boring idea, even though my wife loves british monarchy stuff and was all in. I opted out until I randomly caught a midseason episode with her.

I was completely wrong- it's superlative tv. from writing, acting, production values... top to bottom remarkable show. I thought Lithgow got jobbed not winning the golden globe as churchill... and I actually liked Laurie's performance that won.

OK so I guess after Peaky Blinders, that will be next on my watch list before Sens8

Between Sherlock, Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror, and the Crown Im surprised I dont have a British accent. Oh bullocks

Sens8 is pretty silly. I enjoy/ed it- incredible scope and interesting idea-  but some really bad acting and writing. both gains and suffers from wachowski involvement.

Just picked up Stranger Things again. Had watched two episodes and then we got busy and didn't watch any for like six months. Last couple of days wife and I have watched several episodes. Have two left. I am not typically into  sci-fi but there is enough unknown that I am in now.

It has a little bit of the "Lost" buzz I had - is this fantasy, sci-fi, government conspiracy, etc.

I will probably end up just as disappointed at the end of the series as I was at the conclusion of Lost.

Watched the whole thing.  Fascinating story and really enjoyed the story lines (the effect of Edward's abdication, Phillip being marginalized, Margaret and her fiance, etc.).  It felt a lot like The King's Speech in that it was an honest portrayal of what these people went through and what they were like as humans.  Showing Elizabeth as a sometimes intimidated young queen and all of the voices that really influenced her reign.

Plus the chick that plays Margaret is super hot and Claire is pretty cute.

I'm not a huge John Lithgow fan so I might not be the best person to say this, but it was the best performance I've ever seen him in.

The girl that plays Queen Elizabeth in this first season played the role magnificently.  Not over the top, just played as a low key "I can't believe I'm really the Queen!  Now what do I do?"  Really great production.

On Amazon Prime, but anyone here watch The Expanse? Has good reviews and I am a sucker for pretty much anything sci-fi.

A police detective in the asteroid belt, the first officer of an interplanetary ice freighter and an earth-bound United Nations executive slowly discover a vast conspiracy that threatens the Earth's rebellious colony on the asteroid belt.

Only 1 season so far but season 2 starting in a couple weeks.

I finished up S1 over the weekend, was Decent.. but not great.  Watchable tho for Sci Fi Fans..

Not a Netflix show but is anyone watching "Shut Eye" on Hulu?

The guy from "Burn Notice" is the lead in it. Kind of a show about grifters, as near as I can tell. I'm only 2-3 episodes in. It's doing enough to keep me interested.

Getting ready to finish season 1 of Stranger Things, one episode left. Thinking each season will be a new story of "Strange Things"?
Just finished. They certainly left the door open with......don't read pass here if you don't want spoilers......the Chief leaving food in the woods and Will coughing up that loogie. There would be a lot of unanswered questions also: government involvement, was the government good or crooked, etc.

I'm in for season 2 at least to see what direction they go.

New Netflix original series Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events came out yesterday. My boys have read most of the books, looking forward to binge watching this with them.

Finished up The Travelers.  4/5.  As usual my recommendations where spot on.
It hit a groaningly stupid point with the geriatric shootout and the turn everybody but the guy in charge litany o' short term travelers during the laser episode. We're still in, but woof.

Going to join the crowd and highly recommend Travelers. Thought it was very well done..

Will say the last episode enters the time travel Mind bleep as many time travel shows do, so be prepared.

I struggled to get through an episode of lemony Snicket. It's awfully boring and i hate Neil Harris.
Just finished it last night.

Kids really enjoyed it. I thought it was really good for what it is. Very fun and fast moving.  This has tons of rewatchability for kids.

Netflix has done it again. Another solid show.
