Speaking of BP being lazy and liking things with Hiroyuki Sanada in them--I've watched a few things a while back that I didn't post about.
8 days that made Rome-Pretty good. I knew a fair bit of this but some of the finer details I didn't know. If you like history like me then it's worth watching.
Helix-I liked it enough to watch both seasons. It's sort of a zombie thing so I enjoyed it. Season 2 was just all over the place though and I didn't like it as much but it was still ok. I've always liked Steven Weber even though he was never a big star so it was nice to see him in s2. I started watching this when Tim was doing his 90's countdown and one of the movies that I said that belongs is
The Rocketeer which stars....Billy Campbell who is the lead (or one of) this show. So just a neat little coincidence/kismet.
Tin Man-pass. I have mixed feelings here. I liked the Wizard of Oz, hell I even liked Oz the Great and Powerful. It's only 3 episodes so it's not a big time drain but it's not really that good. I'm not a prude or anything but I felt like this was so ridiculously dumb/crude. We all know the flying monkeys, right? So the stand in for the Wicked Witch character has tats on her chest that represent them. So each time she needs them they do a close up of her chest where she takes off her jacket so we can see her cleavage. I get "sex sells" and I know that the sy-fy channel's viewer base is horny nerds but this just seems so unnecessarily dumb and I think it encapsulates my feelings for the show.
Ark: The Animated Series-I had wanted to play the video game (I know I still can) so I had decided to watch this and it's ok? The narrative has been done before so it seems like such a missed opportunity. Was also very much a product of the time.
Genghis Khan: The Secret History of the Mongols-Didn't know a whole ton about this so I of course enjoyed learning a little about the Mongol Empire. While I'm not a historian or anything I did feel like some of the stories and whatnot could have been embellished or straight up been fabricated but the speakers (or at least the editors) seemed to take it all as fact. Indeed, it seems there's some debate
Its value as a historically accurate source is more controversial:

he value of the Secret History as a source of history is debated amongst scholars,
The Secret History of the Mongols is a chronicle written in the 13th century CE (with some later additions) and is the most important and oldest medieval Mongolian text. The book covers the origins...

still, It's a decent watch.
